《Pink and Yellow - Trimberly》Chapter 8

We walked side by side around the small town and arrived at the donut shop just as it opened. I told the Latina it was my treat and payed for our food and drinks. We both stuck with a classic glazed donut and a cup of coffee. I lead Trini to a seat near the front of the shop and sat down. The same table we sat at when we first morphed.
The nostalgic feeling was like a slap in the face. I remembered as we were sitting in the exact same spot and fighting over the last piece of a donut. I guess that's when we really connected and because of that we began to morph. We had to rush out of the building before anyone saw us and never told anyone about it.
"What are you smiling about you dork?" Trini said snapping me out of my thoughts. I didn't realize I was smiling. I sat there silent with a goofy grin plastered on my face when she spoke again.
"You're thinking of the first time we came here aren't you? When we morphed." She asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, that was crazy." I laughed and took a sip of coffee before eating my donut.
The Yellow Ranger chuckled. "Yeah, that was insane. It was freaky at first but it was easy to get used to.
I only nodded having a mouth full of the fluffy dessert. She laughed when I couldn't say anything and started to eat hers. We sat there in complete yet comfortable silence as we ate and drank. Trini was the first to speak up when she brought her hand up to her forehead and gasped.
"Holy shit we have to work on a project together." She groaned and rested her head on the edge of the table.
I placed my hand over my heart as I feigned being hurt. "Am I that bad of a Biology partner?"
She raised her head and furrowed her eyebrows. "No wait, that came out wrong." She looked away for a second thinking of what to say. "But hold up you aren't exactly the best person in Biology." The Latina smirked looking back at me.

I raised my eyebrows. "I think I'm pretty good at Biology, thank you very much."
She pursed her lips and tilted her head. "Um... No..."
"Oh, ok well I think I'm definitely better than you." I playfully scoffed.
"I'm not going to argue with you on that. But you're still not that great."
"If I'm horrible at Biology and you're worse then that makes you really really bad at it. And you just confirmed that."
"I know what I said." She returned the playful tone. "But we are both not so great at it and we're partners. Do you see where I'm going with this?"
"Not really." I shrugged.
"I am the one who doesn't know what the fuck is happening... And you are the procrastinator which means we will get absolutely nothing done." She points out, a smirk that never seems to leave her face.
"What? Excuse me, but I am not a procrastinator." I blurted out.
"Kim, we're skipping school to eat donuts and do nothing for the rest of the day."
"Ok, yeah- ...Well yeah." I stuttered, my mind blank.
"Ha! We are never gonna get this shit project done."
"Do you even know what the project is?"
"Nope, which proves my point even more. Do you?"
"I know I should but I forgot."
"Good job, Hart."
"Anytime, Kwan."
We both had our elbows propped up on the table as we stared at each other waiting for the other to start something. The playful and challenging staring contest turned into us gazing at the other's facial features.
I was first staring into her chocolate brown orbs and got lost in them before my eyes slowly traveled down to her cute nose. Before I knew it, I was staring closely at her lips. Her lips seemed to be the perfect shape and shade of pink. Was it inappropriate for me wanting to kiss her right now? I looked back into her eyes and saw that she was staring at

my lips. I absentmindedly took my lower lip in between my teeth and bit it hard. Trini of course saw this and quickly met my eyes. All of this happened in less than 10 seconds but seemed like half and hour.
"I- uh... We should head back now. To my place or- or yours if you want. I mean my parents aren't home. I don't know if yours are so I'm not sure your parents would like a random girl over, ya know?" I rambled all of a sudden feeling very nervous.
Trini raised an eyebrow and smirked at my nervousness. "Yeah, let's go back to your place." She said calmly as if we weren't just checking each other out a few seconds ago.
We exited the shop and walked towards my house. We got there and used the front door like any normal human being as opposed to jumping through my bedroom window. Trini followed me up to my room and we lied on the bed for a few minutes before I looked at the time on my phone.
"7:27. The fuck, I'm like already tired." I flipped over on my stomach and buried my face in my pillow and groaned.
The Latina laughed. "I'm that boring, huh?"
I turned my head so I could see her. "Yes." I simply stated.
"Rude." She rolled her eyes and hit me with a pillow.
I groaned again and sat up hitting her with another pillow. "We're even. You wanna watch a movie or something?"
"Sure. What do you got?"
"Comedy, Romance, Drama, Sci-Fi, Action and Adventure, Classics. You name it."
"Let's watch an Action one. Batman?"
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Ugh. You're a DC fan."
"Let me guess... Marvel for you?"
"Of course! The movies and comics are much better."
"I didn't know Kimberly Hart read comics. She laughed. "This is great."
"Whatever." I said and turned on the tv in my room. I finally found the movie and laid back on the pillows.
The movie starts and I never took my eyes off the screen. That is until I feel a pair of eyes staring at me. I grin knowing that the pair of eyes belong to Trini and I feel fluttering in my chest. Seriously what is happening right now? I couldn't seem to turn my attention to the movie and stole a few glances at the girl beside me. She was on the other side of the bed and I felt uncomfortable.
"Do you see this right now?" I chuckled and motioned at the space in between us.
"You're a Marvel fan. I have to keep my distance." She smirked.
"Ugh. Come on." I whined. "I'm cold."
Trini gave up and slide over next to me. She rested her head on my chest and hugged my torso. I put my arm around her and we continued to watch the movie. We got about 45 minutes in the movie before the smaller girl fell asleep in my arms. I smiled to myself think about how the same girl who completely shut me out is now sleeping and is comfortable in my arms. And it wasn't long until sleep took over my body as well.
Trini slowly stirred awake causing me to wake up with her. I glanced at my phone and saw it was 11:30. My jaw practically dropped not realizing how long we actually slept. I looked at the smaller girl and she laughed softly to herself.
"What's that about?" I smiled at her.
She smiled a big warm smile back at me. "That's the first time I woke up without a nightmare..." She looked me in the eye. "...Thank you, Kimberly."

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017].
