Ranboo's POV:
"Tubbo," I aimed my head in the small boy's direction. "you know that none of your clothes will fit me, right?" I almost laughed.
"Oh sh(bleep)t, I didn't even think about that." He propped himself up from the bed. "I mean, it's not that late. I'm sure we still have time to run over to your house." Tubbo and I made awkwardly long eye contact.
"Uh-" I finally spoke up. "Y-Yeah that'd be alright." I looked down at my knees that were bundled up close to my head.
Tubbo put a hand on my shoulder.
"Ok. I'll ask my dad to drive us." He started to get up, but I took ahold of his thin wrist.
"Uh, you don't have to go if you don't want to. After all, you did just settle in." I felt bad for being a burden.
"Ahah, you're cute. Let's go now."
That's all Tubbo responded with before standing up, leaving me dazed and flustered.
I stood up, wobbly and unbalanced. Tubbo had already sped downstairs.
I looked for my hoodie to put on, but soon realized that Tubbo had already claimed it. I wasn't surprised, though. That's just Tubbo being Tubbo.
I followed him downstairs and seen his dad nodding his head. I assumed that he was agreeing to take us to get my clothes.
"Let's go!" Tubbo shouted and scurried outside and to his dad's car. I giggled and nervously walked after him.
Once we all fastened ourselves into the seatbelts, Tubbo's dad drove off through the dark streets with small beams of light from the street lights.
"So," Tubbo's dad began a conversation. "you two are dating, right?" He questioned and I instantly tightened up with a loss of words.

Lucky for me, Tubbo knew exactly what to say.
"No, not yet. One day, though." He reached his hand to mine without looking over.
"Oh, I see." His dad slowly nodded and kept driving.
I pulled out my airpods and handed one to Tubbo, along with my phone so he could pick the music.
Tubbo giggled almost inaudibly.
"You're really gonna trust me with your phone?" He asked, and I chuckled back.
"I mean, can I trust you to pick a couple songs?" I looked over at him.
"Maybe. I'm a bit curious, though." He was clearly tempted to go through my phone, which I somehow didn't mind.
"Well, I don't have anything to hide. Do what you want." I invited him to invade my privacy. He hummed.
"That's very boyfriendly of you, Ranboo." He put on a song and began searching my phone.
I couldn't really say anything. I could tell just by what he'd said that he was ready for a relationship. It made me blush.
I was ready to be with him as well, but I wanted the right time. Luck always seemed to be against me when I was ready, though. I could never just grab him by the shoulder and say "Be my boyfriend." I never had the courage, and I never knew why.
"Hey, Ranboo." Tubbo was smiling from ear to ear. "Nice contact name you've put over me." He didn't look away from the screen.
I remembered that I had put his name as "Tubbo♥︎♥︎♥︎".
My face grew red as I yanked my phone away in embarrassment.
"Th-That's enough!" I looked down and shoved my phone into my pocket.
"Nooo!" Tubbo laughed and reached over from the middle seat that he had sat in, just so he could be closer to me. "I wasn't doonnee!!" He continued to grin and slightly chuckle.

"You're done now." I pulled my mask higher over my face and turned away from him.
"You know, my contact name for you beats that one any day." Tubbo reached his hand into his pocket to grab his phone.
Once he had pulled out his phone, he opened up my contact and showed me the name for it.
"♥︎My Boo♥︎"
I couldn't help but blurt out, "Awhh."
Tubbo smiled and turned red. He pulled his phone back and stuck his phone back in hoodie pocket.
We arrived at my house, and I ran in to get some clothes.
I told my mom that I would be staying over at Tubbo's place, and she was more than happy to let me.
I came back out with my bag of belongings. I got back into the car and thanked Tubbo's dad.
As I was buckling in, I noticed Tubbo was loosening his buckle. Once he finished he scooted closer to me and layed his head on my shoulder.
I reached my hand up for his head, and started massaging his head and playing with his hair.
I could tell by the time we were half way back to Tubbo's house that he had already fallen asleep.
I couldn't help but notice how adorable he looked, cuddling up in a ball and laying on my shoulder.
Tubbo's dad glanced over for a moment and smiled.
After a few more minutes of driving, I noticed that Tubbo's dad wasn't driving back to his house.
"I have to get gas. I'm about to run out." He said as he turned a corner that uncovered a couple stores and a gas station.
"Alright." I nodded my head at the slightest, and continued listening to music with Tubbo.
When Tubbo's dad exited the car and approached the small store's entrance, Tubbo and I just stayed in the car.
Tubbo seemed to be really comfortable, and made me smile. The way his head snuggled into what was almost my chest made me feel warm inside.
His feet were also curled up by his stomach, which I don't know how he managed to do in a seatbelt.
His head slightly moved, turning a few times. He looked as though he were dreaming.
"I love you, Boo.." He whispered, with a slight rasp in his voice.
My face grew red. I already knew that he loved me, but I didn't expect him to have dreams about it.
"I love you too, Tubbo."

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.

Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
