《A Tale of Two - Beeduo》A Thankful Recovery

Tubbo's POV:
I woke up in an unfamiliar place, not remembering why I was there.
I scratched my head in confusion and looked around.
"Hello?" I called out, clearly loud enough for a nurse in the room next door to hear me.
She rushed in seconds after.
"You're awake! That boy's gonna be so relieved." She smiled with glee.
"Ranboo?" I questioned.
"I mean, if that's his name, then yes. He's come in every day to check on you since you got here." She grabbed a thermometer to check my temperature. "You've been out for over a week." She seemed satisfied with my temp, and put the thermometer back where she got it.
"A week?!" I shouted. "What the f(bleep)k happened to me?" I sat up straight.
"Hey, I'm just the nurse. No one usually tells me what happened. They just tell me to help them." She put her hands up as if surrendering.
"Fair enough.." I shrugged.
"You know," She started. "That kid has been sitting outside of the hospital for like, thirty minutes now. The doctors wouldn't let him back in because he's been spending so much time in here."
"Am I allowed to see him, now?!" I shot up, hoping she would let me leave.
"I don't see why not. Your temp is fine and you don't look all beat up anymore. I'm sure I could sign you out." She smiled, but not as big as I did.
"YES!!" I sprang out of the bed. "THANK YOU!" I raced out of the room, leaving the nurse alone.
I found the hospital doors as quickly as I could, and immediately exited the building.
I looked around for Ranboo for a minute, and found him sitting on a bench across the road.
I sprinted as quickly as I could toward him, trying not to limp because of the pain in my legs that I wasn't sure why it was there.
He looked sadder than ever. He had baggy, purple circles under his eyes and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.
"Ranboo, I'm here!!!" I shouted as I was standing before him.
He, slightly shakily, looked up at me, as his eyes grew wider.

"Tubbo..?" He whispered. "TUBBO, YOU'RE OK!!!!" He popped up from the bench and held his arms around me, rocking me side to side as he cried. "God, I thought he had killed you!"
"..What??" I spoke quietly, confused by his statement.
"Oh, I guess you don't remember." Ranboo said as he let go of me to explain. "O-Oscar. He caught us after school, and was being a bit too rude for your liking. You tried to stand up for me, but ended up getting hurt badly.." He looked down and teared up even more.
"Why are you crying? I'm ok now." I smiled warmly and held onto one of his shoulders.
"Because it was my fault that you got hurt." He squinted his eyes. "I c-could've helped you, but I froze and didn't do a thing. I could've pulled him away from you. I don't know why I didn't.."
"Hey, it's ok. I understand." I tried my best to comfort him. "I know that he's traumatized you for a long time. It's just your natural reaction. You get terrified around him, so I can't blame. Plus, it's better than you getting hurt. I'm not mad." I tried to laugh.
"I'm mad, Tubbo! You almost died, for crying out loud! The doctors told me that there was a good chance that you wouldn't make it.." He rubbed his eyes as he sobbed. "I don't know what I would do if you were dead.. Especially of it was because of me."
"It wasn't because of you, though! Please, Ranboo, stop blaming yourself.. I know you, and you're a good person. You're always so hard on yourself.." I tried not to tear up.
"Thanks, Tubbo.." He almost whispered. "I'll try to be more appreciative of myself." He said and I smiled, followed by a small hum.
There was a short pause before he spoke up again.
"B-But still!-" I cut him off with a quiet 'shh' and by putting my index finger over his lips. He looked at where his mouth had been covered and started to blush with a shocked expression.
"I said it's alright, Boo. You can drop it now." I softly spoke.

"No, Tubbo, you don't understand." He talked more seriously now. "You didn't see the look you had as he kicked you constantly in your face and head. I-It was hard for me to watch.."
"Well, then just be glad I don't remember." I said with a smile.
"I guess so.." Ranboo sighed, looking down.
Moments later, I grabbed his hand and he looked back up.
"We should probably get out of here. I need to tell my parents that I'm ok." I scratched the back of my neck with my unoccupied hand. "You should come home with me." I laughed nervously.
"Oh- you want me to??" Ranboo asked in confusion.
"Uhh, why wouldn't I?" I lightly tugged on his arm, signing to start waking.
"Hm.. I don't know." Ranboo did a small shrug and we walked down the concrete sidewalks.
Ranboo kept looking over at me, and I was wondering why until he spoke up.
"Tubbo, you're limping. I'm assuming that it's because of that idiot putting his hands on you.." He said, clenching his teeth.
"D(bleep)n, who knew you were overprotective?" I chuckled.
"I-I am not!" Ranboo looked away from me.
"Yeah, sure." I laughed even more.
"I just don't want people hurting you. Is that not normal?" Ranboo rolled his eyes.
"No, I'm not saying it isn't normal. It's just sort of.. unlike you." I explained.
"Well, I guess I've changed then."
"Or it's because you're in love with me." I suggested with a tiny laugh.
"That too." He said as though it were a normal thing to say, but it gets my every time.
I couldn't help but to blush. I wasn't expecting such a casual reply. Ranboo could clearly tell I was red because he laughed under his breath. Then, we continued walking home.
When we got to my house, Ranboo looked more nervous than ever.
"Don't be scared, big guy. My parents will love you." I looked up at him with a smile.
"If you say so.." He looked downward and tightened up.
I used one of my hands to grab a hold of Ranboo's again and the other to open the door.
We walked in, and my parents were sitting on the couch. They just sat there hugging each other and repeating the same words.
"God, please let our boy be ok."
I felt sorry for them, but more happy that their wish had come true. I was standing right before them as they begged that I was ok.
"Hey, mom and dad." I said and smiled really big. Ranboo moved slightly to the side.
They snapped their heads over to my direction.
"TUBBO!" They yelped at the same time and sprinted towards me.
They both put their arms around me as they cried.
"Tubbo, you're alright!" My mom sobbed into my shoulder.
"We're so glad you're ok!" My dad spoke after her. I just laughed at the unusual amount of attention I was getting. It felt nice.
Ranboo continued to stand to awkwardly stand to the said of us. I decided to finally properly introduce him to my parents.
"Mom and dad, this is Ranboo." I slid more towards to tall man. "Dad, I think you already knew about him, though."
"Yes, I have. But it's great to really meet you!" My dad held out his hand to shake Ranboo's.
"Ohh, so you're the one Tubbo always talks about!" My mom's eyes opened wider in realization. I was flustered and quite embarrassed that she said that.
"Mom! Sh-Shut up!" I punched her sort of lightly on the shoulder. I then crossed my arms and looked away, knowing that I was blushing.
Ranboo giggled and put his hand on my shoulder.
My mom and dad's mouths crinkled up, showing that they thought the situation was adorable. They clearly knew that we liked each other and thought it was the cutest thing ever.
"Why don't you stay here for tonight? It is getting kind of late." My mom suggested. "I can cook really well. I'll make you boys some dinner while you guys do whatever." She offered with a smile.
"That would be lovely, mother." I agreed, taking Ranboo by the hand and pulling him toward the staircase. "Thank you! Byeee." I spoke loudly while running upstairs with Ranboo's hand in mine.
I was happy to have Ranboo at my house for the first time.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

8 206Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them. If you read this story then you won't lack for content. -- The Topps Company, Inc. has sole ownership of the names, logo, artwork, marks, photographs, sounds, audio, video and/or any proprietary material used in connection with the game Shadowrun.
