《System Holders》Chapter 7

Before going on their way out of the tower, a notification came up for all of them.
'Quest 1: 3/10,000 Rabbits'
They took a minute to realise what this meant. They all looked at their systems feeling like they've been scammed, however, their systems looked fine, like they expected this.
"You have to kill 10,000 Rabbits to progress to the next floor. Rest assured not every floor is like this. Quests only happen every 10th floor. Floor 1 included. Anyways I don't know why you're worried, you're not the only System Holders in England, the majority of the population should be. If I'm honest I'm not sure why there isn't anyone inside here already. I guess some Systems are slacking". Zeon finished his tangent whilst cursing out other systems outside of this family.
Before the family left, they picked up these small bronze coins and which the rabbits dropped. Each rabbit dropped one. Carl picked them all up and shoved them in his pocket. Everyone just stared.
"What? I picked them up first they're mine". Carl stuck his tongue out and everyone else just squinted at him before leaving.
As they left, they were met with camers, the police and an ambulance. Before the Police or Paramedics, news reporters were running up to them.
"What is it like inside the Tower? Is it like Paris where there are Rabbits?"
"Were they strong?"
"Why did you bring your child and dog with you?"
Many of these questions were aimed at my Mother and Dad, and Adam aswell since he's an adult, myself and Carl were sort of cast aside.
My Mother had reached boiling point with these claims and almost shouted at them.
"Me and my Husband did not force my children to do anything. If anything, my sons system was more willing than anyone. These Towers are something we need to do as System Holders. As you can see, none of us are injured. Ontop of this, our Dog is no longer a Dog, instead he's a Monster. So move aside".
With this everyone was stunned. These were the answers that they not necessarily wanted, however with her last remark they were more than thrilled. The news reporters were about to flood Jill with more questions until they vanishe, and unknown to them they were back at home.
Nobody said anything for 5 minutes straight, until Jack asked every system in the room.
"Explain. Why is everyone so confused, I thought System Holders were common". Jack was not furious, he was angry, but not furious, he can't help assume that they were lied to.
"We didn't mention it because we thought it wasn't important. However, every system on this planet are supposed to start at the grade of F, or F+ if you're lucky. For some reason, this isn't the case with myself, Ball, or Evie. I think we know why, but we are not a high enough level to state, and if I'm honest. I didn't realise there was such a difference in Grades. Obviously, you aren't special. Evie and myself estimated that there may be around three million like you out of System Holders who's grade are higher than F".

"Is that why the press were so confused why we even went in to begin with?".
"Most likely. Depending on their type of system, if they're not an Informatant they're probably not told much about the Towers themselves".
"Wait, is that why Lamb's personality is aggressive? Is it because he's a useless fuck?". Carl laughed at himself because he knew what was about to come.
"Jill, hit him". Lamb couldn't necessarily look towards him because he was a spikey ball, but if he was a human he would.
"No swearing, how many times do I have to tell you?". A loud smack ran out in the room.
The family was bored of the Towers and System talk. Since they came that's all the spoke about so they put on the News.
"Me and my Husband did not force my children to do anything. If anything, my sons system was more willing than anyone. These Towers are something we need to do as System Holders. As you can see, none of us are inj-". Jill muted the television as soon as she heard her monologue. She hated the sound of her voice through the TV. After what she said they put it back on.
"The lady stated that their pet turned into a Monster. Does this mean our pets could now be dangerous? Honestly, I think we should get rid of these 'monster' pets".
Carl started excessively curse to the television, and at the same time he covered Max's ears incase he could understand what they were saying. Jill didn't even stop him because if she did, he would just pent it all up and eventually lash out in real life.
"But we know nothing about these Monsters yet, why would we suddenly get rid of them? They went into the tower with the family so they may be helpful against these Towers". These two old men the Television started going back on forth on Good Morning Britain.
"Sure, they may be useful, however you said we know nothing about them, so doesn't that mean they can suddenly attack people? You said it yourself, honestly, shouldn't we just ignore these Towers, nothing has happened yet so can't we assume they're safe?". Everyone in the household rolled back their eyes at this man speaking so they turned of the Television.
"Shouldn't we speak out or something? It feels like they're spewing out things they don't know about".
Everyone in the house agreed with Matts words, however noone is a good public speaker.
"I'll do it". Jack for some reason wanted to do this. Which I can understand since Zeon will be with him.
The family called Good Morning Britain stating they were the family who went in the Tower this morning. They were skeptical, but Jack listed off facts about the Tower, so they had no choice but to trust his words. His family turned on the television whilst Jack went in the Kitchen on the phone to them.

"Sorry to stop your debate, but we have news about the family who went in the tower this morning and they want to answer some of your questions. Is that okay?".
"That sounds perfect". Both men agreed.
"Hello Caller, you're on speaker right now with both of the debaters, please introduce yourself". The mediater urged Jack to speak for himself.
"Uh sure. Hi, I'm Jack. I was one of the younger boys who went inside the Tower with my family. I am currently at the age of 17 and I'm here to answer your questions".
The man who opposed the use of Monsters asked a question first.
"So, why did you bring a monster with, aren't they dangerous?".
"Well to start with, I think my Mother mispoke a tad about these Monsters. Yes, our Dog Max is a monster, however he is tamed due to the fact that my youngest brother has the class Tamer. Because of this, we were able to tame Max. However, not every pet in the world will turn into a monster. Max was a rare occurence because he gained a system".
The man who asked the question was stunned. If anything he was hoping this child would side with him, and you can tell he was flustered.
"So does that mean Monsters aren't dangerous?". The mediator asked out of curiosity, but Jack saw this as a dumb question.
"I have no clue. I can only speak for Max only. However, there are monsters inside of the 'Tutorial Tower' which need defeating".
"Okay, next topic then since I feel like the Monster talk has met a dead end, instead I'll ask a question this time. What exactly are these Towers? You called them "Tutorial Towers this hasn't been heard before". The other old man who has barely spoke asked Jack.
"Because it's a Tutorial. When we defeat Floor 100, the Towers disappear and something else is replaced instead. I don't know the specifics, but our lives will not be the same, and I really refrain the government from banning our entry, or any System Holders entry for that matter as these are very important. I will not get into the details, but we shouldn't leave them alone".
Jack was worried what would become of every country if the information gets out that each country is basically in competition with eachother. He was scared of war becoming an option, and he's basically outed himself of being a system holder, what if he has kill people?
"What do you mean we can't leave them alone? You can't just make a statement and not follow it up". Each side was tense as Jack didn't go into detail about it.
"You can make all the assumptions you want. I won't be saying anything about it and that's final". Jack was firm in his belief, he was really frightened of the outcome and he honestly regretted saying anything.
"Okay we'll move on, you said something about the government letting people in and out. Won't people die? Do you have a solution?".
Jack wanted someone to ask this. He has a plan but it's a bit incomplete.
"Obviously, there isn't a stand in solution. However, I believe there should be some form of license for System Holders, and rank them just like Skills and Systems. Going from F - S rank. Each grade would give them a restriction on what floors they can go on. With this, there should be a System Holder centre to give advice on their capabilties. Of course, how are you supposed to rank them? Firstly, I think it's unfair to rank someone based on their system grade, so instead it should be relied on their skills and actual combat abilities".
"Fair enough, however how can we see their skills, how can we actually confirm what they're saying is true?".
"That's the main problem. However, I believe there is a work around. With this new world, my system believes that as a reward for one of the floors, there will be a material which will drop and with that you can create something known as a 'Status Checker'. That is all I will share as I don't know much myself. I will state once more that It's very important to let people in and out of the Tower. In addition, please can non combatant system holders get in touch with me via my email. Thank you".
The small addition he made was because Zeon asked him to mention it as currently they have zero gear.
With that, The media went insane. In the moment Jack didn't realise what stir worldwide he made.

8 118The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.
8 202The Unnoticed Dungeon
A newly formed dungeon core awakes with no memory of who or what he was. In fact, he just found out that he died. He has no idea or when or how he came to pass, and now finds himself being forced to start all over as a dungeon core. Worse yet, he isn't even your average run of the mill dungeon. No, the Overseers, whoever they are, have designated him to be an experimental core. This means he doesn't have to play by all the rules, the bad news is that if the core oversteps his boundaries as a dungeon core too far he's more than dead; he's erased. Now he has to struggle to figure out what kind of dungeon he wants to be, all the while very aware that he can't play it safe. The overseers don't want safe, they want lines redrawn and limits reset. The question is, can he do it and survive? He asks, because he overstepped before he even made it to his new world.
8 311TantaMount
Premise:Leo Renaud is a twenty-nothing year old living out his best years in questionable fashion. An average student with a small group of tight knit friends, he is obsessed with a relatively outdated MMO called TantaMount, relegated to obscurity due to its high level of difficulty. One morning he gets knocked down by a head turning ninja chick riding a motorcycle, who he swears he has seen as an NPC in TantaMount, and for obvious reasons, can't get her out of his head. And lately, players in TantaMount have been leaving the game (major players) and never heard from again. His best friends are skeptically behind him, but three large virtual mountains and many more obstacles block their path to understand what is going on, and the implications it might have in their world and the virtual one. Game on.
