《System Holders》Chapter 5

Jill walked through the front front door but inside it was beyond loud. There were yells going off and she thought something was off. Jill ran inside and behold to her - her kids were play fighting, except this time, Carl and Adam were using their abilities. Jill swiftly ran towards them and gave them a sharp slap at the back of their heads.
"Do you two idiots understand how new this whole magic system is? You could get injured!". Jill was mainly staring at Adam as he was now 21, he should know better than this to fight with his 14 year old brother.
"Adam get outside and learn Mana Manipulation, and Carl find a Slingshot you baffoon!". Carl was about to speak up to say he found one, but as he was about to Jill stared at him. Carl has seen this face many times and he knows if he continues speaking he'll just get hit again.
"Um well I-i, okay Mum". Without uttering a word about his slingshot he left towards the back garden.
This whole situation with the towers has been going on for a few hours now. The government hasn't made an official announcement, so for now, it's more imperative that everyone gets their abilities working, including myself. Currently, Barrier and Fireball are just not cooperating. No matter what I do I can't crack the code. According to my Mother she was told to focus in on the bloodstream since Evie told her that, but apparently that's no use due to the fact that Mentalists more commonly have mana already into their bloodstream. Apparently, I have to find where the mana is allocated and somehow push it through into my bloodstream. Which made no sense to me at all. Adam has made some progress on it since he's actually found where the mana was stored, and it was in his liver. I looked into my liver hoping it'd be there but to no avail. I took a little break and wondered if I should learn hand to hand combat like my Dad was doing in the backgarden. He kept swinging this fire axe which apparently we have stored away for some reason. I have no idea why he's swinging an axe, but it's probably something to do with his weird eye system. Honestly it's hard to be around my Dad at the moment because that eye scares the shit out of me, hopefully I'll get used to it. I gave up on the idea of learning hand to hand combat and went straight back to training my mana.

"Zeon, do you think it's possible to get Mana Manipulation before it turns 11pm? I want to atleast get an early sleep if we're planning to do the Towers tomorrow".
Side note, we're doing the Towers tomorrow. Apparently it's important to be atleast one of the first ones there, and since it's so early Zeon doesn't think there will be anyone willing to enter the Towers.
"You should 100% have mana manipulation by then (Currently 6pm), if you don't, then there is something wrong with your brain". Zeon looked at him in a weird way because Jack's a Mage. Being able to use Mana Manipulation and some Element based Manipulation is sort of the basics, even for a Swordsman like Adam if they want to actually get far in this new world.
Jack continued his training inside since it was getting cold, whilst Carl was in the backgarden with Max.
Fuck knows how but Max seems to understand what I'm saying pretty easily. Probably due to him now being a full fledged monster but it's still a foreign concept.
For now, my main source of ammo are rocks/pebbles I find on the floor mainly because I can't really use anything else, like what else could I even use for slingshot ammo.
"Lamb, are you sure the Slingshot Proficiency is correct, like will the slingshot be my main weapon?". Carl for the fifth time asked the same question to Lamb again.
"How many times do I need to tell you, what are you, fucking stupid? For the meantime, yes, until you atleast get 2 Class Advancements. So shut up and try find some cohesiveness with Max since it's important. You're very lucky to be a Tamer so put some fucking effort into it. Also stop calling me Lamb you ginger prick".

Ever since I got Lamb, he's been very verbal. His deep, grunt voice won't stop complaining for no reason, and he hates his name. I flipped him off and paid my attention to Max.
"Okay Max, whenever I'm about to use Blink, try follow where I'm about to land". Carl commanded Max with a weird task. This wasn't important in the slightest since Max most likely wouldn't even be around Carl since Carl is a long ranged type whilst Max needs to get upclose. If anything, he should be practicing with Adam and Matt.
Max thought this was a basic task and easily did it. For some reason Max knew the ins and outs of Blink which was pretty weird. After a few times Carl decided this was a waste of time doing anything with Max currently because there's nothing to fight. Instead, he went inside and got some empty bottles and lined them up and started firing. At first, he hit nothing. Which was expected, he's never used a slingshot before because it's the most random object ever, but overtime, he gradually grew accustomed to it. His improvement rate was quite bizarre because by the time it hit 10pm, he would hit 6/10. When he was finished he heard a ding sound.
"Congratulations! Slingshot Proficiency has gone up two subgrades, it now sits at F+!".
"Lamb, is this good?". Carl assumed it was good because atleast it went up.
Lamb stuttered abit before mummering "Maybe you do have a little bit of talent."
Carl almost shouted "What was that?!". Carl knew what he said but he was teasing him.
"Lose weight you fat prick!". Although Lamb was annoyed, there was still some truth to this. Despite Carl's weird talent for Slingshotting, he was still on the chubbier side, actually, that goes for the whole family except Adam. Although none of their systems have said this outright except Lamb, everyone has had atleast one thought about it. Especially Jill and Carl.
"Congratulations, Mana Manipulation Learned!".
"ZEON, I FUCKING DID IT!".
"It's 1am, and Adam already did it at 9pm. Please go to sleep". If Zeon was a person, he would be glaring at Jack for his lack of talent, but he honestly didn't have the energy.
