《System Holders》Chapter 3

After Carl tamed Max, Jack then bombarded Zeon with questions.
The outcome from that was that the Tutorial Tower has been placed in every country capital, and each person can only register to each Tutorial Tower. The deal with the towers in the first place is like the name suggests - they are being used as a tutorial for the next stage. Zeon physically cannot say anything more than that due to the restriction of the class advancements, his system level and the fact that we aren't even registered for the tower yet. We also asked Zeon if we could just sit it out and wait for the next stage. But Zeon was heavily against this as if your Tower is near last of completion, you will miss out on huge rewards which will be almost essential in the next stage. Ontop of this, you'll fail to make an impression aswell as harness your skills. Of course we wanted to know who we're supposed to be impressing, but of course, he can't answer that - he just expressed how important it is, as life as you know it will change after the tutorial towers.
Our final question was: are System Holders rare? This question was pretty simple to answer. No, we were not. Infact over half the population have these systems and if anything you're unlucky if you don't. The only thing is that you can't see other systems unless you get direct permission, or if you are direct blood relatives like Brother, Sister, Mother and Father. Things like Cousins or Aunties are not accounted for this, meaning they cannot.
There were two pressing matters that Jack's household may struggle to overcome. One being the government and how they may force System Holders to work in the military and flat out ignore the Towers and use it for personal gain in wars. The second matter was that they live nowhere near London, so it's practically impossible to get there frequently. Especially since they were not in a well off household, infact they were the epitomy of working class. If anything, this could be their opportunity to earn money as the monsters inside the Tutorial Towers drop crystals, equipment, and even on rare occassions skill books.

"Zeon, how do we get to London in the first place?" Jack asked in a depressing manner.
"Oh, that's pretty simple. Systems can make teleporting systems infront of the tower, however that's it. We can't make teleportations anywhere else".
Jack stared at Zeon for a bit. "Why didn't you tell us this?". Jack's family glared at Zeon almost ready to pounce.
Zeon cleared his throat and offered advice. "Anyways, whilst us systems create these teleport pads, I suggest going over what your abilities do and have a feel for them, you can do this by clicking on the ability via your status window. Also, Carl, I recommend you find yourself a slingshot since that seems to be your main weapon for now aswell as having a feel for using Max too and being familiar with his skills. If I'm honest, being both a Weaponist and Tamer can be beyond overwhelming especially since if you're 14, I wish you luck.".
Zeon and the rest of the systems floated off to the basement to install these teleporters.
Everyone wandered into the back garden as it's much more spacious than being inside.
Matt suggested to everyone that we take it in turns as we may be able to help eachother, everyone agreed with this especially Jack since he had no clue what Inherited ability would do.
"I'll go first since I'm pretty sure I know what my abilities do, I'll read out my Inherited Ability then: Crucify, which is grade F+". Jill seemed like she wanted to get this over with. My Mother was always a prideful person so it probably hurt to be given an F+ skill.
"First I'll read out it's skill information".
'Crucify: You can send out a spear of water magic to impale your enemies. Currently it lacks speed and has short distance. However this ability has a lot of potential'.

Jill demonstrated by putting her hand out and stretching her palms, but nothing came of it. Nothing happened. She tried, and tried, but nothing. She later became frustrated and read out what Rejuvenation does.
'Rejuvenation': Overtime heals any wounds that the target has, this is a basic ability for a healer. It's grade is because it's quite useful and will most likely be used alot'.
Jill targetted Adam, focusing on his scars on his wrist. But nothing happened, again.
The same thing happened with Adams 'Electrical Manipulation' ('Able to create and manipulate electric from the palm of your hand. Huge potential for this ability if used correctly', Jacks 'Barrier' (Creates a barrier although it lacks durability and can be easily smashed, the only positive is that it's malleable, however requires extreme control over the ability), aswell as 'Fireball' ('Able to spring a ball of fire from your hand, one of the basics of a mage, depending on the route of your class this ability will either evolve or begone and replaced').
The only abilities which did work were Carl's 'Blink' ('As the ability entails, depending on the control of the ability wherever you look you will teleport'), aswell as Dads 'Taunt' ('Takes aggro from both monsters and people. This inherited ability seems wrong based on this persons build and personality. Most likely will be removed/upgraded as you progress') and 'Strengthen' ('Basic Warrior ability which strengthens the muscles temporarily') and Adams 'Slash' ('Simple swordsman ability which speeds up the weapon that is in your hand and adds force to it'). Slash required a weapon of sorts so Adam used a twig. To the eye, we couldn't see much of a difference although Adam apparently felt one, it just wasn't all that strong. Same goes for Dad's Strengthen ability, he didn't feel much difference but there was definitely one there. Finally, Dad refused to use Taunt on us because he thought we would start attacking him, but based on the information he gave us, he probably isn't wrong. Although I am a bit worried about the route my Dad's going down, even his system (their personal systems have to write these in before they were even introduced) seems to agree.
However, I wasn't focused much on their abilities. I was more concerned for my Mother and I, aren't we essentially useless since our abilities don't work? Especially our Inherited abilities, those are supposed to be strong.
Jack felt like crying out to the world, but little did he know their systems have the answer to that.

8 167Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
