《Legacy of Earth》Chapter 18 – We’ll be taking this

Gunfire illuminated the hangar as the mercenaries opened fire at the stolen Hussar that was activated. Alon gripped the trigger in his hands as he was tempted to set it off, but unfortunately, he was allowed to set it off until they were out.
"Hold on this could get rough!" Tsuna said as he went full throttle on the thrusters sending them flying out of the hangar. "Now!"
Alon pressed the trigger causing the entire hangar to be lit up in explosions. He chuckled hoping that there aren't any civilians that were hired as middlemen to operate on the machines inside.
Yeah, I'm convinced we're terrorists. Alon thought as they got away from the chaos and to find Dain and Gabrielle sprinting out of the rooftop and exchanging fire with the Scutums.
"Stand back!" Tsuna said through the loudspeakers and opened fire at them through the vulcans causing many to take cover as Dain and Gabrielle climbed into the hands of the Hussar and flew towards the meetup point with Henri and Marina who had brought the ReZio and the L.A.M.I.A. Unit waiting for Alon.
"I just realized something," Alon thought as they landed the cockpit opened to reveal Dain and Gabrielle with a surprised look on their faces. "How are we going to get out of this place."
"That's where phase two of the plan comes in," Tsuna said as Alon hopped out and landed on the ground through a landing wire and jogged towards Henri and Marina who were waiting for him.
"What's going on? And who's the new girl?" Henri asked as Alon looked at the ReZio, as all of the weapons, namely the Twin Katars, the Anti-Material Rifle, and the L.A.M.I.A. Unit, were now combined into the ReZio.
The Katars are now mounted on the forearm in a form of retractable knives should he lose the sabres and the gun blade, the Anti-Material Rifle is now mounted on the back of the left shoulder which would be fired on the hip on the left arm. As for the L.A.M.I.A. Unit, it is now connected to the backpack allowing full access to the additional thrusters and the waist mounted railguns.
To say Alon was in awe of the upgrades was an understatement but then he remembered the situation they were on.
"A recruit," Alon answered as he turned to stare at the Hussar and it was very different from the one they came with.
It was a sleek black with gold trimmings indicating that they were powered by solar energy further emphasizing the gold wing imagery of the Hussars. If the Knights were mostly metallic silver representing Knights in Shining armour then the Hussars were the Black Knights that would become a threat in the field.
"I kind of want to paint the ReZio black now," Alon joked as he climbed into the ReZio with Marina waiting for him.
"What's the plan?" Alon asked as he connected his Gestalt Adapter into the ReZio and then he blacked out again. By the time he had woken up, Henri and Marina had a concerned look on their faces all the while Tsuna was finishing the details for the plan.

"—and once that is dealt with, everything will run smoothly," Tsuna said.
"Did I just black out?" Alon asked with a confused look while Marina handed him a handkerchief to wipe the blood off his nose.
"I think it was trying to adjust your brain now that it has the L.A.M.I.A. built on it," Marina told him as he readjusted his seat.
"Naga did you get all of that?" Tsuna told him.
"His brain couldn't handle the L.A.M.I.A. installed into it," Marina answered for him.
"It's fine, just follow my lead and everything will be fine," Tsuna said as Marina and Henri looked at Alon, he gave them one last nod of reassurance as Marina made her way to the L.A.M.I.A. while Henri climbed down and made her way to the shuttle with Dain and Henri.
"Ready?" Alon asked Marina.
"Always," Marina said excitedly through the communications.
[Legacy of Earth]
"So all we need is to create a large and expensive distraction huh?" Alon said as Marina and Tsuna took turns in explaining to Alon the plan as they close in a second hangar with Dain, Gabrielle and Henri would fly in where they would steal a pair of Mobile Armors which are a pair of independent carriers that were intended to be sold to the Scutum as well for clandestine operations allowing them to enter and exit orbit.
"Yeah we'll just need to buy them time for them to steal those one or two which can benefit us in the long run," Tsuna said who was now carrying the ReZio's Anti-Material Rifle as the Hussar was generally unarmed save for the Albedo Reflectors.
Turns out the Hussars are armed with a defence system called Albedo Refletors which uses Fusion Batteries that allow them to negate any kinetic damage but drains the Fusion batteries which is a good counter to the Kinetic focused weapons that are used by the Sovereign hence why the Principality needs access to the Solar Furnaces used by the Union.
So even without the Vasi Sakti they require the Solar Energy of the Union. Alon pondered as his eyes wandered on the Hussar. Compared to the Zio, Hussars are potentially much stronger even without the Solar Energy and wondered if he can get the ReZio integrated with a solar energy system.
I'll need to make sure that the Hussar stays in one piece so Wu can reverse engineer it and maybe develop a suite of our own now if we combine that with the Zios. Alon theorized as he watched the Hussar hover on the battlefield and opened fire with the Anti-Material Rifle. Alon on the other hand landed and with a katar in one hand and a kinetic sword in another he rushed into the fight as he faced off against the Knights that were sent by the Principality to protect their equipment.
Thanks to the L.A.M.I.A. the ReZio's mobility had greatly increased allowing Alon to move faster and dodge the other Knights from landing a blow, and thanks to Wu modifying the ReZio and the L.A.M.I.A. to withstand the g-forces making sure that Alon and Marina don't suffer from it.

Now for the weapons, the Anti-Material Rifle is shown to be highly effective but with a powerful recoil with an equally powerful penetrating power when in the hands of a skilled pilot like Tsuna. It even made Alon wonder if Tsuna is fine with keeping it as he and the Hussar were highly effective against Knights around them.
The Railguns were the best support weapon Alon had next to the Vulcans as there are times when Alon can discharge all of his weapons and take out multiple targets at the same time in quick succession using the aforementioned vulcans, the railguns and the Gun-Blade.
The Katars were a good alternative to the sabres too, while he couldn't throw them with the Sabers but he can impale his targets without switching to the Blade function.
"How are we handling over here?" Alon asked Marina whose job as a co-pilot is to watch over the fuel and ammunition that the ReZio-L.A.M.I.A. is using to make sure that they are still functioning. "All weapon systems are still functioning and you're close to reaching the halfway point in ammunition," Marina told him while showing him the overall ammunition that they were carrying.
"I guess I'll focus on Melee if I want to maintain the ammo count," Alon muttered to himself as he unfolded the Blade and began to cut down as many Knights as he can. On the ground below a firefight broke out with Dain, Henri and Gabrielle have begun fighting their way toward a mobile armour if they can manage to steal one then they don't have to worry about calling a rescue from orbit on the Luna Sea.
"Incoming!" Marina yelled at him through the line as Alon flew up to avoid an incoming projectile but the ReZio-L.A.M.I.A. was thrown to the ground as something had shot him from behind.
"Marina!" Alon worriedly cried as they were shot. "I'm fine! But you have a Hussar coming for us." Marina responded as the ReZio-L.A.M.I.A. got up and faced a unique looking Hussar as it had bulkier armour parts and carried a pair of heavy Beam Rifles.
"Damages?" Alon asked as he flew away as the Hussar aimed its rifles at them and began to fire continuously at them. "Minimal thanks to you moving away from the shot but if they landed another shot we'd be done for," Marina said as she showed him the initial damages to the L.A.M.I.A.
"We'll just have to keep dodging I guess," Alon commented as the Heavy Hussar raised both of its rifles and opened fire at them as it released golden beams of light at them, which is far from the light red beams that came from standard Beam weaponry.
"That must be where the solar power is used," Marina commented in awe, Alon himself couldn't help but be impressed at the utilization of what is essentially a glorified energy generator.
From the looks of things, it has a low rate of fire but it is a powerful shot, Alon thought as he realized that as it continued to fire concentrated beams at them. Even with the ReZio's reinforced armour, I doubt I can take a hit from this. Alon thought as while dodging he would cut down more Knights while dodging the Hussar's blasts.
Come to think of it, we'll need some spare parts for salvaging. Alon smiled as he flew closer to the Hussar and—
Bzzt!
Clang!
The Kinetic Blade and the Katar had bounced from the Hussar as it had enveloped itself in a sphere of bright gold energy which Alon immediately figured out it that it's a sphere of Albedo Reflectors.
"Of course, it would do that," Alon concluded as he flew away and began to unload a volley of kinetic bullets and missiles which were hidden underneath the armour.
"You sure like to talk to yourself," Marina said reminding him that he is now in fact flying for two as he had made a grave mistake of flying too close to the Hussar. "What's the plan?"
"I want to get try and kill the pilot inside so we can take that hussar for spare parts." Alon said bluntly earning a confused 'What?' from Marina. "We're going to need those parts for Suzaku's Hussar."
"Need a hand?" Tsuna landed next to him but they both quickly flew away and continued to fire its beams at the two. "I'm trying to disable this thing so we can take that Hussar for parts," Alon told him as he began to explain what that Hussar is capable of.
"Forget spare parts, I had received confirmation from Fenrir that they managed to steal a Mobile Armor. Let's get out of here and—"
Boom!
Tsuna's Hussar went down in flames while Alon's blood ran cold as it had taken a shot from the Hussar. "Tsu—no, Suzaku!" Marina tried to contact him but his line had gone down unable to tell if they can contact him. "We need to get him out of here!"
Alon silently glared at the Hussar but he immediately grabbed the smoking remains of Tsuna's Hussar and flew out of the combat zone as the Mobile Armor flew by.
"What happened?!" Dain asked through the communications who is just as horrified and distraught as Marina was. "Suzaku was shot, I'm not sure if he's okay or not," Alon asked as the Mobile Armor opened up allowing for Alon to land alongside the smoking remains of the Hussar.
As soon as the doors had closed, Alon and Marina hopped out of the ReZio-L.A.M.I.A. and immediately made their way towards the Hussar which was partly damaged from the fighting. But as soon as they got close to the Hussar they—
"Hey!" Tsuna's faint voice was heard midst the coughing.
"Grab the cutters!" Alon shouted as he looked through any buttons or levers used to open the doors half a minute later Marina ran back carrying a massive pair of cutters used to break open the hatches for the cockpit and pry open the doors to reveal Tsuna who was barely touched from the blast.
"Hey…" Tsuna said as he and Alon both shared a sigh of relief and a laugh.
