《Hello, Inside Monster》CHAPTER LIV: TRAPS FOR FOOLS

„Yet… I should have stopped SolHi to involve in this case,” Kan murmured while he kept wandering the streets for hours already after the fight, he had with DooSan in the parking lot. „More… after everything that happened to her. It’ll be too cruel for her to pass through something similar again as 7 years ago. She won’t bare. Just like… Chion A,” and a tear had been shed on his cheek. Kan instead wiped it right away, for his heart was hurting him too much to cry now… he hadn’t such force.
Suddenly he stopped, right in the middle of the footway and, squatting, he laid his head on his palms without paying attention to the fact that the passers-by were staring at him in amazement while passing by, wondering what could have happened to that man if he felt powerless right in the middle of the street that he got to forget everything and everybody, preferring the solitude in a crowded space.
But… Kan suddenly stood up when a fragment of the past that he wanted to forget came to his mind: the barefoot feet of a hung woman, in the middle of a living room, who he found like that when he turned back home at late night.
„No, I don’t want to lose anybody else because I’ve been a coward,” Kan said confidently and he rushed to go away.
***
„Are you still here?” SolHi asked, seeing DooSan not that far from her, but also not that close to sticking out that they knew each other. They were in the parking lot of the club at that moment, not that far from the entrance.
„I’ve told you already that I don’t intend to lose sight of you tonight and… I won’t,” she heard DooSan’s voice in the headphones, which made her smile.
„Are you trying to look protective?”
„Shouldn’t I?”
„Of course, not! Let’s not forget that this is just a simple mission and nothing else.”
„Any mission runs a risk, detective Ian SolHi. So, don’t rest on your oars and stay on guard. Especially inside, where there’s nobody to take care of you.”
„Ia, as I said and as I see I’m forced to repeat it: I’m not a newcomer and I know what I’m doing.”
„And I insist: don’t go off at half cock. I don’t want anyone to be hurt. Especially you,” he eventually murmured, and SolHi felt the concern in his voice.
Namely that shake in DooSan’s voice made SolHi stop. But… she right away came to her senses just not to give herself away and, to hide any trace of fakeness from her part, she pretended that she was looking for something in her purse. Then she told DooSan, in a sweet voice this time: „DooSan, everything will be just fine. OK? Don’t worry! I’ll stand guard there and… if something, I’ll tell you to go in.”
„No, you won’t tell anybody to go in. What you’ll do is to go out of there, right away. Did you understand me? I don’t hear your answer, Ian SolHi!”
„Mmm, I got it. If I feel danger, I’m out of there. So, you can relax now,” and she again headed toward the entrance.
„I can’t be calm with you, SolHi: not while you aren’t safe,” DooSan told her, stopping behind a big bush not to be seen by those who were in front of the club and could be someone who could have known that SolHi was there to meet that „fly.”

„See you then after the operative and… to be sure I’m more than fine, I’ll buy some soju,” SolHi told him in a cheerful voice, knowing that DooSan inebriates very easily with soju. Then, SolHi turned off the headphones, being only one step from the entrance of the club.
„Ia, Ian SolHi, don’t turn off the headphone!” DooSan shouted muffledly, hearing that she disconnected the phone call. „SolHi, I told you not to… damn, this woman never listens to anybody!” and he angrily hit a stone that rolled onto the asphalt.
Yet, the stone didn’t get further than Kan’s sole, who stepped on it as if he stopped a football ball. „Recently, you are kicking a footy during the operatives?” he told DooSan in a joke.
„As if I am itching for playing,” DooSan told him irascibly. „And… by the way, where did you get here from? Weren’t you who said that doesn’t join this operative, not even dead? That you’ll hang us all if something happens to SolHi? I thought you’ll just stay and watch only.”
„And this is exactly what I’m doing… but from close. And, to answer you where I’m here from - I fell from the sky. A guide for telepath people.”
„Ha-ha, so funny!” DooSan snarled, showing his teeth.
„Well, you are right: it’s not funny, but it’s the only thing I can do right now to calm down the spirits even if it's only a little bit, for I feel that I explode inside. By the way: where’s the reason for my inside bomb? Where is SolHi?”
„She just got inside. And… to make matters worse, the damn stubborn turned off the headphones.”
„Smart girl!” murmured Kan, making DooSan stare at him thunderstruck. „Don’t worry: it’s just camouflage, for each club has its own checking system, and, with turned-on headphones, she wouldn’t have entered that club ever. I like that she didn’t forget what I’ve taught her.”
„I hope you also taught her to turn it on later, to also find out what’s going on inside,” DooSan told him reproachfully.
„She’ll do it, for she’s a smart girl. So, this means I’ve taught her good tricks.”
„Rather, she learned the stubbornness from you, for… you both seem to be borned by the same mother.”
„Maybe we are, who knows?!” said Kan grinning. „And… who’s inside with SolHi?”
„Some of the Kanam’s boys, led by detective Mo while Gi and So are in that van over there, that one for cleaning carpets.”
Only after this did Kan look around and he also saw the van and some of the detectives with who he had worked while being in the Kanam section. But even so, he was nervous. „Something happens?” DooSan asked him, seeing him preoccupied.
„Yeah, I don’t see the monkey whose face you painted in red when he slapped SolHi in front of the Kanam police section.”
„Aaa, Nam Yun Ho?! But I don’t get what detective Nam has to do in this operative?” DooSan asked amazed.
„Of course, he has and a lot, by the way, for this area is controlled by him and his men. And… what worries me more is that he knows very well these streets'unwritten laws as he knows a lot of „bosses” of the gangs that are active here. That’s why this surprises me that much: not to see him here. More, it worries me that SolHi is involved in this, here, on his territory.”
„Even if SolHi is like a bone that stuck into his throat: I don’t think that he’ll put a big dent in this operative just to hurt her. I don’t think he’s that stupid.”
„Stupid he isn’t, but… he’s offended for always being refused by her… as a lover or potential man, and more after you punched him in front of his puppies to protect her… this can be something to make him lose his mind. Trust me, I know him better than you do,” Kan said unsatisfied, and looked around, but he didn’t find anything strange: only an off-road black car that passed by them. But neither DooSan nor Kan did pay attention to that car that rushed to pass by them and got lost at the horizon.
Only when the wheels of the vehicle powerfully squeaked on the asphalt when it turned to the right and the driver pressed the brake pedal to decrease the speed, did the two look behind the vehicle, but they could only spot that it was black and that it had black windows too, through which nothing could be seen.
„Does someone think he’s the second Schumacher or what?!” DooSan mumbled, frowning.
„This isn’t something new for this area. Trust me. And… how the „bosses” I told you about know a lot of our bosses, of course, they can afford such… shows.”
„Remind me to glance at such a file when we are back to the office,” DooSan said grinning.
„Do you think you’ll manage to do something against the streets'mafia?” Kan replied ironically.
„The attempt is not to blame, right?!”
„This is also true,” said Kan, scratching his head. Suddenly Kan became alert, seeing So getting out of the van and running toward them. „Something happens!” He told DooSan, and both ran to meet So.
„What’s going on, detective So?” asked Kan, arriving in front of So.
„SolHi! Ian SolHi is missing! We can’t find her: neither inside the club nor out, for…”
DooSan instead didn’t stay to listen to the rest. He started to run toward the entrance of the club where Gi, followed by some of his men and of the policemen called there for that operative, was already heading. Around, the patrols started to deafening sound while approaching the area, for Gi managed already to give the alarm, for this wasn’t something to joke about: a detective was missing and this generally never ends well.
***
There was such a to-and-fro inside of the club, for Gi’s detectives, along with the policemen that got there to help them, were yelling at the clients not to move and cooperate while the clients were trying to sneak around through each possible corner.
DooSan and Kan instead looked through every possible corner to find SolHi and no door remained unopened as no booth hadn’t been checked by them while they were painfully biting their lips for being such inattentive and that SolHi was missing.
„It can’t be,” murmured DooSan, stopped in the middle of the room, with his head bowed and shaking like hell. But suddenly Kan grabbed him by the collar of his coat, madly yelling at him.
„I told you that SolHi must stay away from this, but you didn’t listen to me.”
DooSan only looked at him with his lost glance while in his mind were moving, at such a speed, all the images he got in his mind before the operative. Especially, in his ears, her last words were powerfully resounding, as if she was sneering at him for he couldn’t protect her. Then, suddenly, the image of the off-road car passing by them came to his mind. „The car!” he eventually murmured, making Kan stare at him thunderstruck.
„The car? What car?”
„That of the „bosses.” You told me about this outside…”
„Damn it! How didn’t I think about this before?!” shouted Kan. „That’s Nam Yun Ho’s car! Gi, Nam Yun Ho is who kidnapped SolHi. Give him in general pursuit. Now!” he shouted while leaving the club along with DooSan.
***
STREET SURVEILLANCE CENTER. MONITORING ROOM. 30 MINUTES LATER
„Faster,” Kan told the officer that was moving the images on a big screen after being taken from the surveillance streets’cameras.
He and DooSan were right behind the officer, watching in concern at the screen and trying not to lose any important detail.
„Prosecutor Han, tell me you saw something that can help us,” Kan asked, feverishly.
„Nothing. As if the earth itself swallowed him,” said DooSan, squeezing his fists, for the inquietude for SolHi’s life was killing him inside, feeling as being the wood slowly destroyed by the worm holes and, for the first time, he regretted that he had been stubborn and that he didn’t listen to Kan’s warning not to involve SolHi in that operative.
„Look! He’s there!” the officer shouted, seeing the off-road car on the screen while the vehicle passed at full speed in front of the cameras, to later turn left on a side street.
„Bastard,” Kan hissed through his teeth, supporting his palms on the officer’s desk and staring at the PC’s screen to see the images better. „Where leads this street?”
„Just a second!” the officer told him and, after a few clicks, he made to show up, on the right side of the screen, the city map with all the possible routings the off-road vehicle could take, drawn in red.
„There are three routings! Too many!” DooSan murmured.
„At least we have a track,” Kan said firmly. „Officer Do, send me this map and the drawn routings to my mobile phone and… keep an eye on the monitors: if that damn car shows up again, call me immediately!”
„Yes, sir!” did officer Do tell him, and Kan and DooSan left the room as quickly as they could.
***
„The same dizziness I felt 7 years ago,” SolHi told herself, in her head, still with her eyes closed and feeling that everything was spinning around her, even if she felt well the bedding under her. „And… the same bitter taste on my tongue. The same taste that makes me sick, just like there,” she added and a cold frisson crossed throughout her body.
And namely that dizziness and the feeling that she lacks air after that frisson stopped to be felt inside, made SolHi want to stand up, but… she felt her head heavy and that her wrists were tied one to the another.
This made her blood suddenly freeze in her veins: „it can’t be! This can’t happen again to me!” she told herself, in her head, and started to shake while a big lump was felt in her throat, pressing her respiratory tract, not allowing her to breathe. And this made her want to cry, but she couldn’t. „I just dream this. It’s just a dream,” SolHi said again in her head, trying to calm herself down.
„And… the same darkness,” the voice from SolHi’s head told her. „Just like then… in that cold place we’ve later called hell… with a butcher next to us… or maybe he’s the same like the last time?”
The voice, from SolHi’s head, suddenly kept silent at the moment SolHi opened her eyes. But the image from in front of her was unclear, pale as if she had had a veil on her face, through which she could only glimpse. But… neither her body nor her mind did listen to her and… SolHi fell again with her head on the pillow, feeling that the power was leaving her and this made her close her eyes again.
For a few seconds only she kept her eyes closed. Then, she half-opened them and looked in front - at that pale white wall, with some traces on it, traces left on that wall by the past years and by all those that spent the night in that room and she understood this seeing some gross-minded inscription on that pale white. Then, at the window, two dark-red curtains were seen… on her left, and… only then did SolHi spot the silhouette of a man, sideways only.
But… she didn’t see who that guy was: she only understood that he was wearing elegant trousers, a white shirt and… a watch, of a bright golden to his right wrist, in which he was holding a glass of whisky, half-emptied already, from which he was all the time sipping.
Moving a little bit her head on the pillow, SolHi looked past the man and saw the same inscription and the same mess on the wall from the man’s left too, on which a painting of two lovers in an erotic position was hanged.
„A motel!” the voice from SolHi’s head told her again. „A cheap enough one actually, it seems, for if it had been a decent one, the owners would have at least cared to clean the walls or to paint them back in white.”
And SolHi turned her head and looked through the room, but the pain felt in her wrists made her moan and the man turned his head and looked at her. SolHi instead not even this time saw who he was, for still having the sight blurred and she was seeing him like through a thick fog. But… she noticed a small sparkle up over his face.
„He smokes!” the voice from her head told SolHi again. „And this… tobacco smell… we felt it before. But… where?! His perfume too… he seems familiar, but… where from?!”
„Did you finally wake up?!” he told her and SolHi winced.
„Nam Yun Ho!” SolHi finally managed to mumble and, supporting herself in one of the elbows, she made the effort to stand up.
But… she again felt that hurdle again of the tied hands and, looking at her wrists, she finally saw that she was tied with a belt by the bed. Thus, SolHi understood that she was again an unwilling captive and that… she could fall again prey to rape, or… she had maybe already fallen to it.
That thought made her close her eyes and squeeze her fists, swallowing hard. But even if she felt dizzy, SolHi knew that there wasn’t everything lost, especially after seeing that the dress was still on her and he also seemed not to have been recently undressed. „It didn’t finish yet just as there isn’t everything lost,” SolHi told herself, trying to take heart.
Nam Yun Ho finally stubbed out his cigarette, drowning it in the same whisky from which he drank before. Then, he left the glass on the window case and headed toward her. But he finally stumbled over SolHi’s shoes, which he had before left on the floor and he has been about to turn upside down if not grabbing the bedside. And, when he was again on his feet, swearing, he kicked the shoes that flew as far as there.
„You… trash! How could you get to do such stupid things only to get revenge on me?” SolHi mumbled, barely heard.
But this only made Yun Ho sneer at her as if he knew what she was afraid of. Then, sitting down on the bed, he stretched his hand toward her, intending to caress her hair.
SolHi jerked back and, because of the dizziness still well-felt, she fell on the pillow.
This made him nervous: the fact that she kept opposing his intentions, despite his efforts, even if she was under the effect of the strong cocktail of sedatives, he gave her to keep her calm.
Eventually, he grabbed her by the back of her head and, from one jerk, he forced her to sit on the bed, approaching her face to his while his lips were nervously murmuring: „șșș, there’s no need for useless efforts,” but when he saw that SolHi tried to say something, but nothing came out of her mouth because she was titubating, he smiled again. „I’ve told you already: there’s no need to stand against me. Not now when we can finally be together, without flies that hover around us, trying to impede us to have some time together… for pleasures,” and his hand moved down on her neck toward the neckline.
This movement of the man on her body made SolHi shudder, unwillingly, for the 7 years ago events turned back to her mind with such a force that she felt sick and her stomach suddenly started to hurt her. Then SolHi saw the moment of the rape, in that abandoned warehouse when the „shadow” that destroyed her life was moving above her and she was incapable to release herself from his hands, even though she was forcing with him with all her heart. But… at the moment she struggled with all the force she was capable at that moment of sick pleasure of that jerk, it drove him crazy and, holding her by the hair and squeezing with all his heart he made her understand that she won’t ever escape from his hands. He even shouted at her then and she remembered his voice at that moment while she was with Nam Yun Ho in that motel room: she remembered the voice of that bastard that hurt her 7 years ago, a voice that she thought she had forgotten.
And she remembered even what he had told her then: „don’t move or I’ll kill you” and he said that to frighten her, after he saw that she managed to push him off her and, in a moment of madness, he threw her against that cement wall on which she and Kan found later that blood stain.
„Noo,” muttered SolHi when Nam Yun Ho held her to his chest and moved his hands up and down her back. But that „no” has been told to the memories that broke in her mind, memories that finally started to take a form in her head, after 7 years when she hardly tried to remember something, but she never could.
Suddenly instead, as if a powerful disgust had been felt in her stomach after feeling the bitter taste of the past event on her tongue and also because of the strong cigar smell that made her want to vomit, SolHi got power and pushed Nam Yun Ho off her, throwing him off the bed.
Then, till he got on his feet, yelling and swearing like a mad person, SolHi fought with the belt that kept her a captive, trying to release herself and run. But… how to run away from the devil if he chose you as his victim?!
Nam Yun Ho suddenly stood up and got at SolHi hammer and tongs, immobilizing her to the bed. Then, he hissed her in her face: „do you think I'll let you go that easily? No, my dear! Not after I'd waited for you for years. And… having you into my arms, I can finally fulfill a dream I had all my life - to end with this dog life as a policeman and to finally settle down to my real vocation."
The man caressed then her face, not paying attention to the fact that SolHi was shaking like hell, fighting with her tears that were so stubborn to drown her soul. Yet, even if she tried hard not to cry, a few tears had been shed on her cheeks while she was staring at the face of her butcher that so badly wanted to make her suffer.
And she shuddered once again, hearing him talking to her: „did you know?! I've entered the police to protect myself and I did well, for you're now in my paws, entrusted me by detective Kan and prosecutor Han himself. This one did this just to finally get revenge on you for what you've done to his brother and to his family."
„You're lying! DooSan couldn't ever do that! Not after punching you that night," SolHi muttered, barely heard.
„Aaa, then! Well, I must agree: he acted very well that night, and all this to make you blindly trust him. But… he's tired already to wait and he decided to rush a little bit the things, and when you finally pay for what you've done 7 years ago, he'll have the possibility to finally live his life. But… I'll turn him back that favor… the punch I mean, for… play-play, but it hurt like hell."
„I don't believe you, for DooSan couldn't have done that. He would have done this by himself if this was necessary. But DooSan..."
„You're definitely stupid then," Yun Ho told her through gales of laughter. „Do you think that a man like him would have stained his hands with the blood of those like you? Cheap women that can be taught something only by playing with them like I'm doing right now?! And… I'm not selective - like he is. I only love to reach my goals, no matter what those are and you are one of my goals to reach for denying my proposals so many times in the past. And, of course, the second one is my agreement with Han DooSan to make you pay for everything you've done to his brother, to Han YuSan. And…I have a rod in pickle for you, my dear," and he started to hungrily kiss her neck. But… a sudden kick in his stomach threw him again off the bed.
„Ah, you…!” shouted Nam Yun Ho and jumped again over her, pulling her hair and slapping her face. Then, he took off the belt, intending to hit her.
But he remained with his hand in the air when the door has been hit against the wall and the police broke into the room. „You!" shouted again Nam Yun Ho. „What are you doing here?"
„Because we…,” Yu wanted to answer him, but they froze, seeing DooSan throwing himself against Yun Ho and starting to punch him and kick him with such force that flung him to the ground.
Suddenly, SolHi opened the floods gate, but not because she saw the others and she understood that she was already safe, but because of the lived terror and of the felt pain in her past, that took over her at that moment, too.
Kan wanted to approach SolHi to release her hands, but Gi stopped him and motioned with his head toward So to do that. Then, while So was releasing SolHi’s hands, Gi told Kan: „what she needs right now isn't to see a man next to her, Kan.”
„But I’m the man that can stand by her side, for…”
„You are a man, in the end, Kan,” Yu told him, too. „And what she lived this night… and in the past… I think that it hurts a lot and…”
Their conversation had been interrupted by a sudden roar of the two men that were still fighting and that couldn’t be split up despite the fact that the policemen intervened right away. And, in a fit of madness, DooSan grabbed Yun Ho by the coat and was about to throw him through the window.
„Prosecutor Han, release him!” Yu shouted, grabbing DooSan by the arm. „It won’t help anybody if you kill him. SolHi is fine now. So, release him and…”
„Leave me alone!” DooSan madly shouted, for he definitely wasn’t seeing or hearing anything. And, because of this, Kan and Yu have been forced to piggyback DooSan just to impede him to commit a crime, for he was ready to do that at that moment, just to make that bastard pay for what he did to SolHi.
Mo and another few policemen that entered later the room, also approached DooSan and Nam Yun Ho, who kept jerking toward the other one, trying to kill each other and they were really difficult to calm down, for madness took over both of them at that moment.
SolHi, who was taken out of the room at that moment by the detective So, looked back for a few moments at that hustle and bustle created by DooSan and the rest and, with tears in her eyes, she whispered: „I’ll pay eventually for everything that I’ve done to you, Han DooSan. Just as you wished. Then, she turned her back on them and left the room.
***
Bloody and staggering to his feet, Nam Yun Ho was finally taken out of the room by two policemen, after they had finally managed to split the two men.
DooSan, who calmed down a little bit, was sitting next to the wall: he had the shirt broken and stained with blood, shook-headed, with his face and his fists hurt for he really tried to kill Yun Ho in that fight for attacking the woman he loved.
„Prosecutor Han, I…,” murmured Gi, approaching DooSan, Yu, and Kan, that were standing not that far from DooSan in case he’ll lose again his control and will try to finish what he had started with his enemy number 1, for, from that night, Nam Yun Ho took SolHi’s place as the most hated enemy by DooSan.
„Safe operative you said, huh?!” DooSan hissed through his teeth, and this amazed Kan and Yu, who stared at him. But Gi avoided their glances and of DooSan’s when he suddenly looked at him. „You said that nothing threatens her and that she can defend herself if something. But… how the hell could I trust you when you hadn’t been able to find the trash in your own team?”
„Prosecutor Han, I don't think that Gi’s guilty. I’m sure that if he had known, he…,” Yu intervened.
„Don’t defend him, inspector. As far as I know, he was aware of what Nam Yun Ho is capable of. But he didn’t investigate anything and allowed the head of the mafia to work for the police,” DooSan shouted with hatred, standing up. Then, he approached Gi, hissing in his face: „I’ll wait for your report, detective Gi and I hope it’ll be long and with a lot of details about what happened tonight or I swear that I’ll send you all behind the bars, for… for my people, I’m ready of everything.”
Then, DooSan passed by Gi, heading toward the door. He stopped, however, seeing So entering the room: „where is SolHi?” he asked.
„Outside. I’ve left her with the paramedics for further medical care.”
DooSan then came out without telling them a word or looking back.
„I understand that he's outraged, but yet: I think prosecutor Han already exaggerates," Mo murmured. „Eventually, SolHi is a detective too, and working for the police implies sometimes some risks."
Gi pierced him with his glance: „and… do you think he isn't right to claim us this?! It's our fault that SolHi had to get through such traumatizing experience tonight and this is because we all knew about Nam Yun Ho's stinky things, but we did nothing to impede him, just because we didn't want to go against our bosses. But… if we had delayed for a few more minutes, everything could have been even worse than it's now."
„This is already a bad thing, Gi,” murmured Kan. „And… I don’t know how SolHi will live after this.” After that, he left the motel room, leaving the others staring thunderstruck behind him and not understanding a word of what he said.
***
„What? Did detective Ian leave already?” DooSan shouted, hearing the paramedic saying that SolHi refused to be helped and that she left, despite the fact that the paramedic tried to stop her.
„Yes, prosecutor Han. She left, even if I told her that it can be dangerous because of the narcotics she received, but she didn’t listen to me.”
„Narcotics?” asked Kan, who suddenly appeared behind DooSan.
„Yes. It seems that they gave her a good cocktail with… everything,” the paramedic murmured.
„And… even if you knew that, you let her go?” shouted Kan at the paramedic, but he couldn’t approach him, for DooSan intervened and stopped him.
„Detective Kan, you know as well as I do that if SolHi sets her heart on something, nobody and nothing can stop her. Let’s not forget that she recently climbed on a moto also being drugged by Min SinJu. She’ll be fine, for…”
„She’ll be fine?!” Kan shouted this time at DooSan. „You don’t even have the minimum idea how can all this cheap play you staged end. Do you at least know if this … event didn’t remind her about the 7 years ago events? No, you don’t. Why? Because you didn’t give a damn shit to find this out from her. Why? For you, like a teenager, jumped over Nam Yun Ho and tried to kill him for later feeling good with your consciousness, but you never asked her how does she feel.”
„You know that I couldn’t to…,” DooSan also shouted.
„No, I don’t know anything. Just as you don’t have an f…cking idea about how can this end if we don’t find her soon.”
„Stop croaking,” DooSan shouted again. „SolHi is strong and even if she’s under the influence of psychoactive substances, she can control herself. She can make the difference between what’s real and what’s not.”
„And you are really stupid if you think that,” Kan told him, staring at DooSan with hatred. „You lived with her for so long, but you have no idea about who SolHi is, or about what she lived 7 years ago.”
DooSan looked thunderstruck at the detective. „What the hell are you talking about? What could have happened to SolHi 7 years ago to…?”
„A rape, you piece of…you are. That’s why I’ve been so against this operative with her involved in it. And what I was so afraid of just happened, for… it could have ended worse than 7 years ago, when SolHi hasn’t been only the victim of a rape, not only lost her child that night, but she had a damn deep 2 centimeters wound in her head and all the bones were broken. But… as today you saw nothing, you also didn't see it then. Why? For being blind, for thinking more about your ego and about your pain than to be attentive and to spot the others’sufferance. But even if I know this, I can’t blame you, for… you were also right: the assassin of your beloved brother was considered to be SolHi. It didn’t matter that she was broken physically and mentally. She deserved that: in your opinion and of everybody. But… the only thing I want right now and I’ll do everything for this to be real is you out of her life, and… if something happens to SolHi after what happened just what, in this shit motel, I swear that I’ll send you right next to your brother, prosecutor Han. And… as I said before the operative: I’m more than ready to kill for her. So… stay away from her, idiot!”
Kan turned his back on DooSan intending to leave. However, he stopped, not that far from the ambulance and, after a few seconds of loudly breathing, he turned toward DooSan again, who was staring thunderstruck at a blind spot on the ground: „and… one more thing, prosecutor: I know that you and that dolls lover, Pack GhiYon have been that day there when we and SolHi visited that abandoned warehouse. And… you two have been right: we found something there - blood stains, and the analyses showed us that that blood was SolHi’s blood. It means she has been there that night when your brother has been killed!”
DooSan finally managed to look at Kan. „What? SolHi’s blood?”
„Mmm, hers. But she doesn’t know about this, and we should say thank God for this, for if she had known, she wouldn’t have been alive since long ago. And… I ask you right now, right in your face, you, mister all-knowing prosecutor: if SolHi was taken almost in pieces out of that warehouse, how could she kill your brother then? But… my question is still this: who hurt her if she hurt Han YuSan?! As long as I know, you all the time accused her of being alone with Han YuSan in that warehouse. But… I don’t think that prosecutor Han YuSan killed himself after hurting SolHi. There had to be someone else there that night. A third one. Who instead: find out by yourself, Han DooSan! I’ll take care to find out the answer to other questions that came to my mind about that night and about what happened to SolHi and I ensure you that I’ll make the one, who made her suffer, cry bitter tears for everything he has done to her. And… you are stupid, Han DooSan, because for getting revenge for your brother, you destroyed such a wonderful creature as SolHi is, without being sure that she was guilty or not. Idiot!”
Kan left eventually, and DooSan only saw the door of his car slammed by the detective when he got in, to later hear the gas pedal pressed to the brim.
DooSan instead didn’t follow him, but kept staring somewhere past him while muttering: „SolHi, the victim of rape! A third one? The dead one because of…? It can’t be! This simply can’t be! And… who I wanted eventually to punish for everything? Did I am so wrong, SolHi? Did I really am so wrong in front of you?”
Eventually, succumbed by remorse, by questions without an answer which were spinning in his head like a beehive, leaving him breathless, and also because of the guilty feeling, felt in his chest stronger with each passed second, DooSan kneeled down and started to sob his heart out.

So let's say there's this girl. A young girl who happens to be a highly-trained, psionically-gifted, nanite-infused, genetically-enhanced and emotionally unstable assassin that doesn't know the concept of 'mercy' or 'holding back.' Let's say she and her imaginary friend miraculously pass through the borders of reality into an alternate universe, crash landing into a world of swords and magic aboard a starship full of high-tech wonders. Now, let's also say the first person this borderline psychopath meets happens to be her doppelganger - a highly gifted mage who happens to have a few problems of her own, like a bad temper or a bad habit of chronic self-delusion. With me so far? Good. Now, what's the on the agenda for these two different people who happen to be the same person? Settle down, start a family and thoroughly enjoy life. Maybe get married and have some kids. How about befriending a violent alcoholic or defeating an ancient evil being? Perhaps kill a few dragons and wreck a city along the way. Anything can happen around the city of Runetap, after all. It's a place where bizarre and strange things occur on an almost weekly basis. The people living there have long abandoned silly things like common sense or minding the details. A giant flaming UFO streaks above the city in broad daylight? That's just another Tuesday. The City Guard even had the form for that, so believe me when I say this. It's your loss if you mind it. This is the light-hearted and fluffy tale of Ellie and Kira as they forge their own path of absurdity and crazyness across a world that often makes little sense. Loosely inspired by the Discworld series of books by Terry Pratchett, even though the author hasn't actually read any of them. Contains yuri, mature themes and the author's personal views on several subjects. Explicit content is kept to a minimum.Does NOT contain slavery, rape, drugs or any other similarly heavy themes.
