《Solitude's Requiem》The Duel Commences

I could hear the gathering crowd get more rambunctious after my taunting statement. my opponent that monstrosity of a pale orc didn't seem to appreciate it.
'Well knowledge is power after all.' i Think to myself before using appraise.
-Undead Orc champion-
Name: Kor Ulto
Information:
[Extreme Strength] [Eternal Pain] [Blood Bonds] [Endurance]
[Experience Duelist] [Frenzied Rage] [Resistant to Physical damage]
[Magic breaker] [Contracted servitude]
'most of them seem self-explanatory. However, let's get a quick rea...'
Until my opponent decided that he was tired of waiting and came in swinging. I barely managed to duck out of the way of his sideways attack.
'He's faster than I thought he would be'
I quickly summon a black circle around my feet and wait for him to rush at me once more. he quickly enters the radius of my circle and I use the same trick I used on his blood brother. many spears made of darkness come out ready to penetrate his entire body. Yet what was supposed to be a sound of impalement was rather the sound of my spears breaking. kor who's now in close proximity to me used this chance to kick me right in the stomach. I was forcefully sent flying for 5 meters before crashing into a wall.
'He's strong.' I think to myself while coughing a bit of blood.
I look at the card Ashmodai gave me and use seer's sight, the blessing Leilaya just gave. A runic white eye appears on my forehead as it helps me understand the mechanics of soul magic. It appears that when consuming a Soul you can decide to completely devour the soul or only take a piece of it.
Devouring it completely would give you more power yet is considered for some a cardinal sin.
'Well, I'm pretty sure demons don't care about sins.' I think desperately looking for a way to increase my chances.

kor eyes widen when he sees the card that I'm holding. It seems he knows exactly what this card is. An evil smirk widens on my face. What do they say again?"If you can't win the physical battle win the mental one."
"you know what? That kick in the stomach made me quite hungry." I say while putting the card close to my mouth.
Kor looks as if his world is falling apart. I can see real tears mix with this endless stream of blood flowing out of his eyes.
"Bon Appétit." I say before eating the card and thus completely devouring the soul.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" My opponent yells in clear grieve before rushing to me once more.
I quickly sink into my shadow to appear out of his own. It's clear that he's now in a frenzied rage. While his attack power has probably bettered, his defense is almost nonexistent. Maybe he thought that I would be able to penetrate his thick armor-like skin or he fell into a rage because he watched me devour the soul of his comrade. Either way, it doesn't matter.
As soon as I step out of his shadow I summon a spear once more. I use it cut my hand as the spear of darkness quickly starts absorbing my blood. The black spear starts to give off this reddish blood-like tint on its sides.
Before he could even turn around I wield my blade and cut him across his back. The wound is clear to see as I finally managed to draw blood.
'It's a very well know blood technique. By giving the darkness my blood it will awaken a blood lust inside the weapon. however, since I am the one wielding it isn't capable of absorbing more of my blood. that's why its power increases, it wishes to drink more blood and its desire to do so makes the weapon stronger.'
"Shall we continue?" I ask clearly mocking my opponent.

Theo Lane is chosen to be the avatar of a deity to partake in a tournament to decide the One God. He isn’t the only one. No. There are a lot more than he would like. Of course the apathetic high-school student would never agree to the desperate pleas of the said goddess, but there was a reward for the winner. He could become a god himself if he won. The greatest hassle was the stage itself. Instead of Earth, it would be on another planet with technology similar to the medieval ages with a few twists. A planet thrice the size of Earth with denizens of its own, with a history of its own. There was only one wish in his life, and that was to bring back the one he failed to protect. If murdering every other person in the world was what it would take, so be it. It was his only chance.
