《Solitude's Requiem》And The Winner Is

We both managed a hit on the other. It's only a question of being able to avoid him until I manage to do some critical damage. His frenzied rage makes him even more predictable so that means that the outcome of this battle is completely in my hands.
For the next 20 minutes I decided to keep the same tactic: Have him charge at me, walk out of his shadow, and cut him with my spears. His body is riddled with cuts but they don't seem to perform any major damage on him.
'It seems like he isn't capable of feeling pain.' I notice.
'I should probably try to go for a blow that would cripple him.' Thinking about my new plan I combine even more darkness and blood magic. This time I created these black chains engulfed with traces of blood that forcefully constrict themselves on my opponent. He tries to break out in his frenzied rage but how harder he resists, how greater the strain.
Before I attack I spew fire on top of my blood-bound darkness spear. I quickly take aim at my gigantic opponent and decide to aim for his left eye.
I impale his left eye as a scream filled with pain and agony comes out of his mind. I come closer and closer impaling my spear more and more through him. The crowd seemed to love the brutality as I hear them cheer in excitement.
'Let's end it.'
I pull out my spear once more as my next target is his other eternally bleeding eye. I come closer ready to deliver the finishing blow. Until I was welcome by the sound of shattering metal. His left hand quickly grabs my neck as he breaks my chains.
He immediately pushes me to the ground still having a clear hold over me. He starts loudly laughing and yelling.

"YOU HAD QUITE A LOT OF FUN DIDN'T YOU?!?! THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE UNDEAD MARAUDERS!! He proudly yells still in a frenzied rage.
Both his hands make their way towards my head as they stop before my eyes. He begins squeezing my eyes with an excruciating force. The pain was unbearable, the force was even greater than the time I did the ritual. I could feel the pressure grow and grow as blood began coming out of my ears and eyes.
'This is bad...I need to do something.' I think to myself desperately looking for a solution.
In an act that was largely driven by my desire to survive. I create another dark blood spear in the shadow beneath me. I sent the spear behind me through my rib case. I could feel his grip loosen in shock. As I look with my bloodied and damaged eyes. I could see that my spear has penetrated his other eye.
Sighing in relief, I could feel his body fall limp as I finally managed to kill him.
'that was way too close.' I think to myself.
The crowd cheers as the battle came to an end. They seemed rather satisfied with the shown brutality. I quickly use the shadow of my large dead opponent to shadow walk to another nearby shadow.
Choosing a shadow of a spectator who's standing on the other side of the old man. I quickly run out of it as I try to make my escape through the alleys.

Death Galaxy
When portals opened across the world and space, people were a bit terrified. Naturally, some people called it the end times or some other negative interpretation. Thankfully, the new arrivals managed to calm the masses, saying they were here from across dimensions in search of peaceful refuge. After some discussion and promise from the reality hopers to not break the world, they were allowed asylum. And so, began a technological revolution as the new cohabitants, who looked distinctly human if a bit off, openly shared some of their knowledge with us. Space travel, while not cakewalks, become more easily accessible, as did interplanetary colonization. Naturally, with the New Humans keeping some of the more dangerous techs to themselves and Old Humans being a greedy bunch, tensions are arising as old and new grudges rear their ugly heads. The world endlessly spins as history, both good and bad, is seemingly on its way to repeating itself. Only with other planets, and potentially other universes, being the backdrop this time. But that was big stuff that Alex had no real interest in. They only care about one thing and one thing. TDAG. Trans-Dimensional Adventure Games. Best VR system ever made. Alex, instead of focusing on political and multiverse shenanigans, had their eyes set on VR games. Specifically, one of the new and up and coming potential best games of all times. Death Galaxy

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
