《Solitude's Requiem》The Past 2 Years

Cornelius POV:
I've been training little Edwin here for almost 2 years now. He's quite talented in the ways of the arcane. Not that I will ever tell him that, if I raise his ego too much, I fear that complacency will become a defining problem.
Besides, I've heard whispers about Lucille's light and its brutality. I rather have him underestimate his abilities than get himself killed. I feel sorry for sending this child there, but leaving him behind in that darkness would also take his toll, I fear. He isn't really a shade demon, after all, so I expect that he still yearns for the things he experienced as a human.
Then again… I can't call him human anymore. When I found him, I could see that his time in the darkness has taken its toll. His soul was torn and even if he didn't really change during his time here. He will have to sooner or later if he wants to survive.
I look at the young demon testing a spell that he just learned. I direct the mana at my will and use appraisal…
-shade demon-
name: not chosen
Name before crossing: Edwin Gwayne

[Reincarnate]
[Dark Vision]
[Arcane practitioner]
[Fire magic]
[Darkness magic]
[Blood magic]
[spiritual companion]
[Boundless]
[Mark of the watchers]
[Faster regeneration]
It seems his body has also started evolving. I guess that has to do with the fact that he's become more comfortable with mana.
I look at him once more. A young boy with light brown curling hair and green eyes. Yet his eyes do not shine with the youthful vigor that you would expect. They're cold and unwelcoming. He also has a scar on his right hand from the ritual, but otherwise, he would just be a normal boy.
“What are you dreaming about?” He asks in his haughty tone.
“I was thinking about teaching you how to show respect, Little Ed.”
He sighs and turns around to continue practicing again.
“You know the way of the gentlemen is long and hard, my dear Edwin. But do not fear, you have me as a teacher after.....”
“I shouldn't have asked.”
