“This is the information that people can see when they look at me? I don't even know what this all means.”
“Indeed, this spell is called appraisal. It gives information about people's ability and feats.”
'What would happen if I try to appraise him'? I think to myself before deciding to have a quick glance.
Name: Cornelius
Information:
[contracted spectral spirit]: this spirit has a contract with an individual
“Quite the quick learner, aren't you? It does seem you're a reincarnated after all.”
“Were you really doubting that?”
“I mean no offense, little Edwin, but reincarnates are famous for having unique abilities and learning faster than a normal human.”
I frown when he calls me “little Edwin” but decide to let it go considering he did teach me a bit of magic.
“What should I try next?” I ask, ignoring his habit of talking about things without explaining.
'I should probably try to learn magic, to begin with. We can see about the rest later.'
“Let's start moving then, we have a long way to go. It would be better if we make ground while teaching you. You are capable of doing that right, small Ed?” Cornelius says, clearly trying to provoke a reaction. Deciding not to give him the satisfaction, I just glare at him.
*Sighs*
“This way, follow me”
During these 2 years, I learned quite a lot of magic from Cornelius. Ignore his: attitude, annoying voice, and about 70 other things, and he would make quite the teacher. He also told me some general information about the world.
This demonic realm is called Appolyian and the realm where humans and apparently other races reside is called Genesias. It resembles a real fantasy world with elves and all the other fantasy races.

The capital Lucille's Light apparently was created by the first devil Luciel. She was one of the goddesses of light, together with her twin sister Asariel. However, the 2 got into a fight that would shake creation. Luciel believed that Appolyian should also get the blessing of light, and thus she blessed the realm with light. Asariel hated demons and didn't want her sister to give them any blessing.
Their relationship deteriorated after Luciel gave her blessing. All beings in Genesias started praying more and more to Asariel and the beings in Appolyian started praying to Luciel. Then a battle happened between the twins. Asariel got blinded and Luciel lost her angelic form.
Thus, Luciel became known as the first devil and created a city that would forever shine for Appolyian called Lucille's light. Asariel incapable of governing the light due to her blindness, created the sun to grant light to Genesias.

Those who dislike subject material surrounding loss, depression, grief, should probably not read. With that said, the story evolves into a supernatural thriller past the initial chapters. It’s a comparably low fantasy for a website like this but hope some of you still enjoy it.
