When you were very young, as in too young to walk or see, let alone defend yourself, you got abandoned by your family Pack. They didn't really see the point in keeping the runt of the litter. So, guess who almost got attacked by a wild predator? Yeah, you.

You would've died had it not been for the female wolf who was passing by when she heard the snarls and cries. She protected you, even earning herself a few scars and a new puppy she took under her care. She was known as a very kind, yet overprotective, wolf who took in all kinds of orphaned or abandoned pups and nursed them to health, and she would practically raise them up before they left at the right age.

You were her baby, the one she cared for the most. Something told her you were special, and she felt very protective of you since you were abandoned at such a young age. And now, you were a strong and playfully wolf pup that liked to cause some trouble sometimes. All apart of puphood, supposedly.

You were just walking around the forest, trying not to stray too far from your guys' shelter. You had also heard this weird noise earlier, so you wanted to explore and check it out. "Weird noise, here I come! You better be prepared, 'cause when I find you..." you looked off to the side, at a leaf that had just floated down and rested against the dust. You crouched and pounced, pinning it down underneath your paws.

"...(Y/N) will make sure to defeat you!!" You squeaked aloud, playfully pawing at the- now slightly torn- leaf. As you brought your paw up, though, the once green leaf stuck to your paw. "Oh-! Come on, stupid leaf! Let go!" You snarled as you began to shake your paw, trying to get it unstuck from your small claws.

You didn't notice the predator sneaking up behind you until you heard a small yap, and you quickly turning to see a fox. His fur was a bright orange, and his paws and ears were a jet black. He had his teeth bared slightly, glaring at you. "Well, well, well. What's a little pup doing out here in this part of the forest? And without their mother?" He questioned, and his mouth curved slightly upwards into a fox-like grin, showing off his sharp fangs. You yelped, stepping back quickly in surprise.

Remembering what your mother said about encountering predators, you instantly turned tail and ran, letting out little yaps and howls as you went. The fox felt like he could grin wider, had it not been for the pain he was starting to feel. He just started to walk towards your fleeing figure, letting out a cry beforehand. You weren't sure what he was doing, but you kept on going nonetheless.

Just before you could reach the nearest tree and try to climb up a low branch you could reach, a paw came from the side and smacked you away. You yelped again as you got hit, rolling through dead leaves and dirt. Just as you looked up, a couple of foxes were coming from the underbrush nearby, snarling with their hackles raised. Guess they didn't plan to let their prey out of sight.

You backed up, not sure what to do at this point. They surrounded you, their leader coming wining the circle in front of you. "Say goodbye, pup!" He barked, and without warning, he quickly went for you. You closed your eyes tightly, looking away with your ears flattened and tail between your legs as you waited for your demise. Though, the only thing you heard was the sound of a high pitched yap and a few confused whines.

When you opened your eyes, there stood your mom, standing over the limp body of the dead fox. "Don't you DARE touch my pup!" She growled, and you instantly ran up to her side, hiding beneath her. These foxes understood instantly that she meant business, and they ran away, yelping in fear as they did so.

"(Y/N)! Thank god your safe! Why did you run away? I was so worried about you!" Your mother told you, turning around and starting to lick your fur in an attempt to clean you off. You gave a small wolf-like chuckle as she did, shaking your head a bit. "But momma, I'm fine! Nothing happened!" You assured. Well, you always took notice at her defensive behavior over you, and you knew she was being overprotective.

"Well, something happened! Come on, let's go back and I can keep a close eye on you." She instantly picked you up by the scruff, and she started to walk back towards your territory. You only sighed as you watched yourself getting dragged back home so soon, but you could understand. Despite the female wolf's overprotective personality, she was still loving towards you, and shared every last bit of love she had with just you, and other pups of course.

That night, your mom slept close to you, making sure you were safe. "I'll always protect you, (Y/N). I'll never let anything happen to you. I swear on my life."
