Semidio High, Gym

The blonde haired boy was jogging around the track when a new kid burst through the door. He looked like a Latino elf, and Coach Hedge certainly wasn't happy with this new kid, who interrupted his "inspirational speech," whereas in real life he was just screaming through his megaphone.

"COME ON, CUPCAKES! LAST ONE TO FINISH GETS AN EXTRA TWO LAPS, SO HURRY UP!" The boy didn't understand why the coach insisted on calling them cupcakes, but even more, he didn't understand how the coach could fit a megaphone in his back pocket, unless his pocket was enormous.

The coach had just finished introductions-"Hey cupcake! Go run with the others, NOW!"-and so the boy joined the panting runners on the track, grinning lopsidedly. He drew level with the blonde boy and they struck up a conversation. Through their gasped-out words, the two boys became fast friends. The Latino elf was named Leo-Leo Valdez. He was great with machines and had a flair for jokes and humor.

While the two boys were bonding, Drew Tanaka, queen bee of the school, was busy bullying a girl in the East Wing. The girl's wavy golden-brown hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and her light brown eyes glistened with unshed tears. Drew snickered, and punched the girl repeatedly. Drew sneered. "Hmm, little Natalia, can't stand up to me now, huh? Or should I call you by your oh so dreaded last name, mmm, Miss Silfire?"

The girl glared up at Drew, who only smiled cruelly. Unbeknownst to both of them, the grey-eyed girl happened to witness this. The grey-eyed blonde strode up to Drew casually, and ever-so-casually punched Drew in the face. She helped up the poor bullied girl and walked away with her, chatting amiably.

The brown-haired Cherokee girl was being stalked. Stalked by paparazzi. Apparently, news of her new school had reached the ever-so-gossip-hungry press, and so she had to spend half of 5th period in the girl's bathroom, waiting for the press to clear out. She wasn't in a good mood by the time she reached the classroom.

"Why, Miss McLean, do you show up halfway into the lesson?" The teacher inquired, with a malicious look in her eyes. The girl knew what the teacher was thinking: Ooh, another kid to torture. But she wouldn't be tossed around like that.

"Why, Mrs. Harrison, I was being followed by the press, and I was sure that they would disrupt the class, so I waited for them to clear up. That's why I was late," she replied, in a sugar sweet voice. Mrs. Harrison looked taken aback and simply nodded for her to sit down.
