Y/N POV:
I was gasping for air as my body reached the surface- I knew exactly where I was. I thought they would've taken Cho, but no they chose the childhood best friends - this would go down a treat with the Daily Prophet and Rita Skeeter.
Before I could do anything else, the sound of cheers and clapping filled my ears, and w strong arm grabbed mine, pulling me forwards with them - Ced. He was grinning like the Cheshire Cat as we flung ourselves onto the side of the docks, and were helped up by mostly Hufflepuff students who were also ecstatic. Soon, Cho pushed forwards, kissing Cedric - which we all cheered for - and then pulling me into a warm embrace. She handed me extra towels despite me reassuring her I was perfectly fine.
"You'll get a cold Y/N - take it! There's nothing wrong with being extra cost." She said smiling at me, as I took the towels.
Cedric was soon engulfed by a crowd of Hogwarts students, so I sat by the edge by myself, waiting for the others to come up.
Soon, a familiar redhead came and sat down next to me. I turned and smiled at him.
"Hey Freddie."
"Hey Black - don't do that to me again. Everyone was running around the castle trying to find you - thought you'd been kidnapped by Beauxbatons and become a pretty twat." He laughed.
"So you're saying I'd have to be in Beauxbatons to be pretty? But harsh Fred." I said giggling.
Fred froze, thinking he'd messed up.
"No...I meant...I..." He stammered.
"I'm messing with you Freddie!" I grinned at him, and I saw him let out a sigh of relief.
"I'd never leave Hogwarts for some stuck up school filled with bratty divas." I said as we heard Krum arrive with Hermione.

"So you're calling your dear friend Evangeline a bratty diva?" Fred raised his eyebrows at me.
"She's the only exception." I said and we both chuckled.
There was a comfortable silence after that for a bit. It was nice just to sit there, and block out every else. Recently, life had been so eventful, it was difficult to find peaceful moments. Unfortunately, our comfort was soon interrupted by none other than Ronald Weasley. He seemed grumpy - but recently he had always been slightly grumpy, since Hermione and Krum had gone to the ball really. He was wrapped in a towel too - he'd been in the lake for Harry to save.
"Can't believe Krum had to save Hermione." He grumbled, as he sat inbetween me and Fred, not paying attention to the moment he ruined - he was too absorbed in his own teenage misery.
"What does she see in him anyway? He's not that good." Ron continued, but it seemed like he was trying to reassure himself more than anything. Fred however, wasn't pleased with Ron for ruining our little silence before, so he didn't hesitate to answer Ron's obvious rhetorical question.
"My dear Ronald, why wouldn't you want Krum? He's the best seeker in the world, strong, athletic and very handsome." He said wriggling his eyebrows up and down at me, making me burst out laughing.
"Yeah yeah thanks Fred." Ron grumbled, getting up and leaving, obviously annoyed that Fred hadn't joined him on the Viktor-hate-train.
"You should go find Romilda - she's probably looking for you." I said, as I began getting up.
"Didn't you hear?" Fred had a puzzled look on his face.
"Hear what?" I said in the same confused tone.
"Me and Romilda broke up yesterday." He said in a slightly cheerful tone.

"I was tied up at the bottom of the black lake then Freddie - remember?" I said laughing.
"Oh yeah - well now you know." He said, smiling at me a bit.
"Oh it's a shame, I really liked her." I said, sarcasm dripping from every word.
"Yeah yeah you two were best friends for life." Fred joined in, and we both laughed as we made our way back across the lake, to the castle.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
