The next day, we went down for breakfast as usual, but there was some sort of announcement to make. Dumbledore was at the teachers table, and in front of him was a covered statue or something - it was all very peculiar.
"Wonder what that is." I whispered to Fred.
"Probably the thing that's stopping me from being able to swing bats at Slytherins without being told off." Fred replied with a smirk.
We sat down, grabbed some fruit and waited for good old Albus to tell us what was happening.
Once he'd revealed the Triwizard Tournament was taking place, I could feel the excitement in the room. I looked over at Cedric, who was already deep in thought. Fred and George were also planning on putting in their name. That was, until the age restriction came in. No one under 17. I didn't turn 17 until Christmas Even next year, and the boys were far later in the year, so they were frustrated to say the least.
"Rubbish!"
"That's not fair!"
"You don't know what you're doing!"
Whilst the boys tried yelling as loud as possible, I was preoccupied with the thought of Cedric actually entering and competing. There was, after all, a reason it has been stopped. If Cedric did decide to enter his name, I'd support him of course, but not without trying everything in my power to stop him. I couldn't lose one of my best friends, it would hurt too much.
After the announcement, Dumbledore then introduced us to the other two schools: Beauxbatons and Durmstrang.
The Beauxbaton girls were first to enter, and they all walked gracefully down the hall, mesmerising all the boys and girls. I even saw a familiar face - Evangeline. I'd met her on a trip to France and we'd become good friends and always wrote to eachother. I waved at her as she walked past, and she returned it with releasing beautiful blue butterflies from her hands. It was a stunning piece of magic. I looked down our table at all my friends, most of them completely transfixed on the beautiful girls, except for a few. George was just staring at Angelina - which was very cute. Cedric was staring at a Ravenclaw in my year - Cho Chang I believe, and Fred was staring right at me surprisingly.

"What's wrong Weasley? Scared the pretty girls will be too much and you'll try do what you did at the Quidditch World Cup?" I said menacingly.
"What? Oh um - How do you know about that Black?" He said, caught off guard.
"Your good old twin." I said smirking.
"The Beauxbaton girls aren't really my type." He said, coming closer to me on the bench.
"Well then what is your type Freddie?"
"None of your business." He said smiling now he'd gotten the upper hand.
Then, Durmstrang entered. They were quite intimidating if I was honest. It got even more scary, when Viktor Krum entered and made every girl in there swoon. Personally, he wasn't my type, so I looked away, and looked straight into Fred's eyes.
"What? Let me guess - Durmstrang buys aren't your type?"
"Spot on Freddie."
Fred then leant in next to me.
"Then who is?" He whispered in my ear.
I could see everything was wrapping up, so I put my hand to his ear, pulled myself forwards and said,
"Gingers."
Before walking away from the table and the scene, leaving Fred completely shocked and amazed.

Freeform was supposed to be this but my ideas were too complicated and I couldn't keep myself from overthinking it. Well, that failed. I will resume this story at a later date.

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.
