"You're starting to build up a tolerance." Sara said while pushing the needle into Michael's skin. She was getting more and more worried about his condition. He seemed to just be getting worse. He needed to go to the hospital but refused to listen to her and Lincoln. He insisted on finishing the mission first but she was afraid it would be too late.

"Just up the dosage." Michael told her with no fazed expression.

"Michael if I give you any more, it'll have a worse affect than your tumor." She replied with worry in her voice. He really needed a hospital. She took the needle out and threw it away while packing up her medical bag. He rolled his sleeve down and she felt his gaze on her face. He gently grabbed her arm and it she looked at him.

"Just a few more days Sara. Just until this is all over. I'll be okay." he said. She nodded but knew that everything wouldn't be okay. His episodes were getting more frequent and it scared her.

She watched him walk away to come up with more plans to get scylla. She sighed and walked over to the boat to put her medical bag away.

Michael stumbled slightly, his vision focusing in and out. Everything seemed to feel far away as he reached out to hold onto something to ground himself. His fingers reached the table and he closed his eyes. He felt hot and his head was killing him. It had only been a few hours since Sara had given him a shot to delay his symptoms.

He shook his head slightly as the wave of pain passed. He looked around the room and heard voices outside the warehouse. He was grateful no one had seen him. After he was sure he could walk, he made his way over to the boat where Sara had put her medical bag. He reached in and grabbed the familiar bottle and a syringe. He looked around again to make sure no one was watching.

He walked purposefully to the bathroom around the corner and slipped through the door. He locked it behind him and began measuring two times the amount he had gotten earlier that day. He pushed the small needle into his arm and almost instantly started feeling better. He wasn't sure if it was all in his head or if the medication was just strong and numbed the symptoms. But he honestly didn't care. He just had to last till this was all over.

He heard the voices growing louder and grabbed the things he took from her bag. He quickly made his way back over to the boat and placed everything carefully back. He took the used syringe and threw it in the trash before walking back over to the table.

"How are you holding up?" he heard his brother ask him as soon as he sat down. He jumped slightly, not realizing his brother had walked in.

"Fine." he replied shortly while the rest of the group made their way inside. "What's our next move?" he asked Lincoln. His eyes fell onto Sara's face and he felt slightly guilty for taking more medication without her knowing. Once this is all over I'll go. Until then I'm fine. He told himself. He looked back to Lincoln and formed a plan.

Sara kept an eye on Michael as the group rushed around making connections and prepping items for the next day. It had been ten hours since she had last given him a shot, but his episodes seemed to be getting worse. She witnessed him have two more hot flashes that lasted for a few minutes and he collapsed once. She was getting really worried.

She watched from the boat and saw him working at the table, putting together more pieces of information. She noticed his hands shaking slightly. She watched as he would ball his fists under the table and then lay them flat trying to keep the others from seeing. Every few minutes he would grab the back of his neck and then move down to his shoulder before placing his hand back on the table. It was a response that she had seen before. Something she had used to do when she was craving morphine.

The thought puzzled her. The dosages she had been giving him wouldn't cause him to develop an addiction. She caught Lincoln also watching Michael and she made his way over to him.

"Can I talk to you?" she said quietly. He nodded and followed her outside.

"I'm worried about him." she told Lincoln and he folded his arms.

"He's getting worse. His episodes are a lot worse than our mom's were." Lincoln told her and she nodded.

"He needs to go to the hospital. If he doesn't theres no doubt that he won't survive." she said sadly.

"The only way we are getting him to go is if we knock him out and drag him there." Lincoln replied. Silence filed the air for a few minutes.

"I need you to do something for me." she finally said. He looked at her and waited. "I need you to watch him tonight and see what he does." she said.

"Why?" he asked, curious as to what she expected him to find.

"I think he's been giving himself shots. And I think he increased the dosage too." she replied quietly. Lincoln looked at her seriously.

"How do you know?" he asked her.

"His hands were shaking earlier. And I could tell he was on edge because he kept trying to calm himself." She reached behind her neck and shoulder and showed Lincoln what she had meant. "It's something I used to do when I had been using." she explained.

"I'll watch him tonight and let you know." Lincoln said while walking back inside. She sighed and watched the sun set behind the water.

Sara felt hands roughly shaking her and she woke up immediately. It was dark out so it had to be the middle of the night.

"He's in the bathroom. I watched him take a small bag out from under here." Lincoln said while pointing under the seat of the boat.

"That's where I keep my medical bag." She said quickly while getting up. "Stay here." she said while rushing down the small ladder. She practically ran to the small bathroom and opened the door immediately.

"Take it out. Now." She said fiercely. She didn't mean to come off as angry, but she was scared. Michael looked up at her startled. She saw the guilt in his eyes and he slowly pulled the needle out of his arm. She took a deep breath while taking the syringe out of his hand. "How many timed have you done this in the last 15 hours?" she asked him while putting the things back in her bag.

"Three times. Double the dosage." he replied quietly. She watched him cover his face with his hands. They were shaking.

"Michael, what are you doing?" she asked quietly while taking a seat next to him. She pulled his hands away so she could see his face. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.

"I just have to last a couple more days." he said shakily. He was looking straight ahead, refusing to look her in the eyes.

"Michael, please look at me." she said gently. He slowly turned to look at her eyes. She saw the fear he desperately tried to hide. Her heart ached for him.

"This isn't going to make it go away Michael." she said slowly. "It's just making the symptoms worse." she explained while wrapping her arms around him. "Please tell me whats going on." she said desperately. He sighed and leaned into her touch.

"Im scared Sara." he finally said after a few minutes. "I down know if I'm going to survive this." she listened as he shared his fear and memories of when his mom had died. She hugged him tighter as he shook.

"Michael, you can't have any more of this. A small addiction like this can be cured within a few days, but even if you were to continue with a small dosage it's not going to make the symptoms go away. Your tolerance is too great. You need to go to the hospital tomorrow and get the tumor removed. Please." she added with more desperation. He nodded slowly and leaned his head against her.

"It's time we took care of you." She said to him. "You've been there for all of us more times than I can count. They can finish this without us."

"Us?" he asked and looked at her.

"Im not making you do this alone Michael. Im going to be in that room with you tomorrow." She replied and he nodded again.

"Thank you Sara." he whispered quietly. She kissed him gently and hugged him tighter.

"Everything's going to be alright." she told him. He nodded his head and they made their way back to the boat to sleep for the rest of the night.
