《Daughters of an Unwanting Diamond - tsundere885》◈ 2 ◈

Things were difficult since Blue found out she was pregnant. She found herself having to hold onto things every time she stood up, because of the dizziness. She wasn't far along, so she was still fit to rule properly. Thankfully, it was starting to die down, as she reached the end of her second month. You couldn't visibly any changes in her outward appearance, but Blue could feel a very tiny bump.
She felt...jittery everytime she ran her hand over it. It only reminded her of what was to come in seven months. Obviously, the gemlings weren't developed enough for Blue to feel them move, but she did like to think to them.
Such lucky little things. Can you hear what goes on out here? I hope not. It's... it's a mess. I don't know if your other mother is even going to attempt to parent you, little ones.
What's even sadder is that Blue was telling the truth. She had no idea if Yellow was going to assist in raising the two gemlings she carried currently.
"My Diamond?"
Blue's head jerked upward at the sound of her Chalcedony's voice.
"Let me guess—my appointment?"
"Yes, my Diamond. It's just a quick check-up, that's all." While wheeling over the machine from before, she asked, "Have the symptoms died down at all, my Diamond?"
"Yes, thankfully. However, the nausea's aftermath isn't doing me any good, as I keep having to hold onto things."
"That will die down soon enough, my Diamond. Could you lift up your upper garment so I could scan your abdomen, like I did before?"
She did so, lying back on her much more comfortable bed. She hadn't even gotten out of bed, today. It was better than getting inspected on the much stiffer bed in the corner. And this time, that machine with the monitor on it sat next to her bed, so Chalcedony wouldn't have to wheel it over again.

She scanned Blue's abdomen again, then noticing something strange. As well as the two blobs that she was certain were her diamond's gemlings, there was another, tiny, more circular dot-looking thing.
"Chalcedony, what is that?"
"I'm not sure. See, on this machine, each of your gemlings is identified with a code. The one to the left is A13, the one to the right is Q14. However, this thing has no code. In fact, whenever I try to get a code for it, it says 'ERROR.'"
"So, it cannot detect it. Wonderful."
"Forgive me, my Diamond. I will have Peridots inspect this machine immediately. Until then, I'll just call for another."
"Can't you see the progress of the gemlings from there?"
"Of course, my Diamond. Let's see."
Chalcedony zoomed in on the gemlings. It only looked a tiny bit more like a body, but for the most part, they still looked like blobs.
"Oh, look, my Diamond! They're starting to develop a head and body, each!"
"I see. A month's gone by that fast. That's...amazing to me."
"Isn't it? I am wondering what that one tiny blob is, though. It can't be a growth of some kind. This scanner detects abnormalities like that almost immediately. Again, I'll get peridots to work on this machine. Another will be in here by the time you come back later to rest, my Diamond."
"Thank you, Chalcedony."
As Chalcedony walked out, Blue leaned back into the pillows supporting her.
"Wonderful. Just another thing I've got to worry about. I've still got to think about whether or not I'm going to take that 'maternity leave' that Chalcedony mentioned. It'd be nice to get a break. It's not like I do much, aside from sitting and using a control panel or screen."

Blue found herself occasionally lifting her upper garment, and looking at the tiny bump that, ever so slowly, grew inside of her.
She felt foolish for doing it of course, but she didn't care. It's not like Yellow was there to question her or call her crazy — like she certainly would be doing right about now.
Was she missing her? Maybe. In the smallest amounts. She tossed her legs over the edge of the bed, then stood up, suddenly feeling as if she'd been spun around. She grabbed her head in annoyance.
"I'm starting to feel that this cannot go fast enough."
She walked over to her throne, which had her Pearl standing next to it.
"Greetings, Blue." Her Pearl was getting used to calling her Diamond by her name.
"Greetings to you, too, Pearl."
She sat down, resting her arms on the armrests. She summoned a screen and tapped away at it.
"How have you been feeling, my Diamond? Better than last month, I hope?"
"Yes, Pearl, I'm feeling much better, aside from having to hold onto things. I appreciate your concern."
"I'm glad, my Diamond."
She noticed her Pearl occasionally breaking her habit of saying "My Diamond." Sure, Blue Diamond appreciated going by her title, but bothering with correcting etiquette and whatever just seemed like too much, at the moment.
Blue Diamond was focused on whatever was on her screen, so when she heard a knock on the wall, her head jerked up.
Yellow...
"Greetings to you, Blue," her yellow counterpart said, monotonously.
Blue kept her eyes glued to the screen as she said, "Greetings to you, too, Yellow." She can't know, she thought. I never told her, my Pearl certainly never mentioned anything.
"Nothing new with you, I assume?"
"No," Blue lied. "I can't imagine why there would be."
"If there are going to be two new Diamonds, don't you think you should tell me first?"

And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels.
