《The Mysterious Secret》Chapter 8

I stayed in place, waiting for the lights to resume shining... but they didn't turn back on. Meanwhile Hannah had found me next to the door. My ears listened for any sign of sound at all, but only Hannah's restlessness and our breathing caused the slightest of noise. Victor would have noticed a power outage by now, I thought, maybe I should go now...
I agreed with myself and turned the knob to open and the door creaked. Small rays of light peeked out and exposed the room once again. I peeked though the crack and saw nothing but a white hallway, and a dark wood door at the end. No cameras could be seen... I closed the door, encasing the room in darkness once again.
"What should we do?" I said to myself. I pondered for a little while. Then Hannah spoke up.
"If we want to escape, we need to run... fast." She said, as if that wasn't already obvious. She put her hand over mine on the doorknob, turning it slowly. Soon the door opened and we let it open all the way. We both took a step back and leaped, sprinting through the hallway, we got to the door, hurriedly opened and jumped through... only to fall a few feet into another cage. We fell hard on the soft carpet over a metal floor. We were trapped once again, except this time it was in a bigger cage and we were together. Men and women alike stood around us as if they were watching us, which unsurprisingly, they were. Some were staring, some were taking notes, and some were chatting with each other. These people were acting as if we were a science exhibit.
Victor is truly evil, I thought, truly, truly evil. No one would even think of such a bad thing as this. Then the group of scientists walked off, leaving Hannah and me alone. I looked up, the door was still there, but it was somehow closed and most likely locked. I didn't even risk trying because above the door, on the ceiling, sat several sprinklers. Of which their use was unknown, I did not expect anything good to come from this situation. As I looked back down, a sound got my attention. I was the sound of sizzling, like the extinguishing of a fire. I was afraid to look up, as it sounded like it was coming from that direction. Curiosity got the advantage of me and I could not handle not discovering the source. I looked up and saw the sprinklers had been activated and what appeared to be nearly invisible sizzling hot fire, slowly sinking down in our chamber, I flattened myself against the floor and hoped it would not reach me. Sooner than later, I breathed some in. Immediately the concoction took hold. The room began to spin and my body felt like I was at the bottom of the sea, being crushed. Next the gas turned and very dark shade of black, obscuring nearly all vision. I turned my head to the side, seeing Hannah lying there, nearly unconscious. As the world began to disappear, all I could manage to say was;

Red Clay Technical Services: Mercenaries, Magicians, and Marketing
Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones. Grumbo (Grian x Mumbo) Fanfic
Okay so I need to point out a few things. 1. I only ship the characters Grian and Mumbo, not Charles and Oli. This means that I am just shipping fictional characters. Basically, I ship Grian and Mumbo (as real live people) but not as Charles and Oli. (hopefull that makes sense)2. I don't ship a sexual relationship between them, for those who don't know, I don't write things like that, and I also don't generally like that. 3. This is most likely gonna include other hermitcraft characters, (again, the characters, not the actual people who play the characters) but none will be in any relationships they'll just be the friendly background people and friends. Rankings: #1 in grianxmumbojumbo#3 in hermitcraft7#15 in Mumbo (out of 494 stories)This story will be taken down if any hermits related to the story state they are uncomfortable with being a part of shipping/fanfiction (or names will be changed, depending on the person). If either Grian or Mumbo states they are uncomfortable with being shipped the story will be taken down immediately! I think that's it... well, enjoy the story!
