《Flaming Light》Chapter 22: Prelude to Chaos: 2
Advertisement
The battle royale tournament has come to an end with Dayve emerging as the winner. The curtain rises as chaos ensues. Three demon kings, Jac De Jac, Leonardo Blaze and Neutro have arrived along with a horde of demons and the appearance of one of the top Celestials.
Phoenix and Luxxi are about to engage in a powerful battle.
"This is a tale of humans, beasts, and beings from other worlds. A tale of a girl who wants to surpass the strongest; no this is their tale. A tale of hope. A tale of Flaming Light."
(N: Due to the elemental distortion that happened millennia ago giving humans the ability to control the elements, the size of the earth expanded and became over fifteen times the normal size. Also the earth absorbed so much energy and became quite unique out of most planets in existence such that it could withstand attacks that would normally destroy multiple galaxies. This made the earth quite sought after by beings such as the demon clan).
Spada, one of the demon kings, clad in armor with spikes, laughs and says to Luxxi, "You want to take me on? Some cocky things you bastard humans speak of these days."
Luxxi scoffs as she takes off her long coat with furry linings, instantly appears in front of Spada and slams him with a powerful palm hit. The attack knocks Spada high into the sky to an altitude of about ninety thousand feet (90,000 ft).
Luxxi then charges herself with sparks of lightning emanating from her entire body and within a brief moment, like a rocket, launches herself with a mighty bang causing a large crater on the ground. Swiftly, she appears at Spada's location high in the sky.
Luxxi smirks and replies Spada, "Cocky you said, however I'm a lady of action. Seeing as you are, I already know I can take you on. Bow before the queen of storms you accursed creature, I'd do well not to underestimate me."
Both beings are levitating in the sky. Spada claps and says, "Interesting, you were able to push me to this height with just a single palm hit. I admit I didn't expect such speed and power. I shall have my fun toying with you."
At ground level, the pink barrier fades away and the area becomes empty and silent like no one is around except for Phoenix, Luxxi, Spada, Neutro, Mephisto and Nocte. The other two demon kings and Neutro remain still as Phoenix ponders, "So this separate dimension is like a copy space of reality however just us six beings are here meaning we can do battle without affecting others. Now, given that I'll be battling against two demon kings and the dark emperor Neutro, even if he's at fifty percent (50%), it's possible that this dimension might not hold for too long especially if I use my full power. There's also Luxxi's battle against Spada. In order to minimise destruction in the real world, what I should do is to take my time in battling them."
Mephisto, takes a step forward, chuckling as he says, "Arrogant human, just because you managed to defeat Belzene, you think you can take on us three?!! Truly disrespectful." His long hair immediately alters to flames while his piercing fiery eyes glow brilliantly with a gradient of red and yellow lustre. The markings on his two curved horns, attain a fiery glow while huge flame beams appear at each of his elbow joints and ankle joints.
Mephisto is about to dash off but before he can take a step, Phoenix instantly appears in his front and throws a powerful jab enshrouded in flames at him. Mephisto quickly blocks the attack by crossing his hands against his face however, the force from the hit sends him flying miles away, smashing the entire curved wall behind him while the shockwave produced from the punch creates a large crater on the ground. Noctes quickly jumps high in the air, spins her scythe, swipes it diagonally and launches an attack against Phoenix.

"Dark Canon!!!"
A black ball of about six feet in diameter, radiating tremendous heat forms and advances against Phoenix. Phoenix's eyes brighten brilliantly as he defends with a blast of his. "Fire release: Bomber."
He immediately forms an extremely hot huge ball of fire from his right palm and tosses against the dark canon. Once the two balls collide, a vast explosion with a mighty bang occurs, spanning the entirety of Glory Academy in this dimension that they are fighting.
--- Normal Dimension ---
Meanwhile, back at the normal dimension, after the dimensional dynamic labyrinth, pandemonium ensues at Glory Academy with the demonkind invasion. Serena is transported to one of the school's old weapons' rooms, in a weakened state, unable to move and unfortunately, there are low tier demonkind approaching her.
"Tch!!! If only I had my strength, this bunch would have been easy to deal with. This rank of demonkind currently approaching are of the lowest class however the dangerous thing about them is that they move in packs of large numbers. I already expended too much energy in the tournament, damn it!!!" Serena thinks to herself.
The room is quite large (the size of a football field when compared to our own regular Earth and having a height of about twenty two feet (22 ft) ), Serena is at one end of the room while a horde of demons are approaching from her front. However, when they draw closer to Serena, a window behind Serena, cracks open and someone jumps into the room from that opening.
"Wind Style: Breaking Gust!!!" A powerful wind pressure forms and pushes back the pack of demons. The mysterious person lands on her feet and says, "I've finally found you Serena." Serena smiles and replies, "Glad you did, Kiiara."
Kiiara smiles backing Serena as the pack of demons make another advancement. She turns and faces Serena, spreads her palms towards her and says, "Just as I thought, you're quite exhausted from the tournament. Heh, lucky you, I've got some stored up light energy, I'll use it to reinvigorate you."
She brings out a card piece from her side pocket, tosses it on the floor, steps her right foot on it and chants, "Heed my call and come forth, Use of Barrier: Cube of restoration fused with Inverse Combustion Cube."
A line of light springs out from the card and surrounds Serena like a cube. From it, a glowing translucent cube comes up, enveloping Serena inside it. The cube shines dazzlingly and the light within it begins to restore Serena's elemental energy.
"Interesting," Serena says. "So you performed the technique way before this tournament and stored it in a card so you could easily just summon it whenever you're in a pinch. That's really ingenious of you Kiiara."
"That's right Sis. This technique takes time, focus and a lot of elemental energy to create. So I performed it while we were still in Lightville with uncle Gabs providing guidance. It's actually a combination of a light restorative skill and the combustion cube I used on you earlier in the tournament (Chapter 8). However, the combustion cube in this case, is the inverse of it so instead of keeping you from going out, it'll keep the demons from entering inside and will heat up on the outside each time they attack it," Kiiara explains.
Serena is in awe and smiles. She folds her arms and sits with a meditation posture in the cube.
"That being said, will you really be alright facing such a number of demons, Kii Kii?" Serena asks.

Kiiara steps forward a bit towards the demons, picks up a sheathed sword and replies, "Not a problem. This grade of demons are the lowest of lowest. I think these are F-rank demons. I remember reading that the low tier demons are usually ranked from A to F. The rank of A to E usually shows somewhere on their body like a tattoo but that of F doesn't display at all plus the F-rank ones are quite unintelligent and just move to devour and survive. Their danger is in their numbers though."
Kiiara moves the sheathed sword to her side, bends, taking a fighting stance and states, "There are over two hundred in this room, well, let's see how long I last since all potential exits have been blocked by them." Her dazzling blue eyes turn golden having some glow as she activates her eagle eyes. She quickly zooms off, unsheathes the sword with a flick of her left finger, draws it out with her right hand and splits a demon in half making it fade away. She quickly brakes, slightly twists her body and slashes off the head of two demons. The demons start approaching her at a fast speed but she takes a leap backwards and unleashes a large amount of fire breath from her mouth, burning some of the demons.
Suddenly, huge stomps start to vibrate the ground while causing sounds similar to banging a drum. A huge demon of about thirteen feet (13 ft) in height, red in colour, clad in some armor, having two large horns protruding from his head and with a tattoo on the shoulder with the letter 'D' in bold.
"Humans!!!" the demon yells in a thunderous voice. He throws a heavy punch at Kiiara but she swiftly evades by jumping backwards. The punch lands on the ground causing a crater while the shockwave from the collision pushes Kiiara further back.
"Damn it," Kiiara expresses. "A D-rank demon? Plus the other F-rank demons are still around, not good."
The D-rank demon rushes at Kiiara and launches a backhand slap at her. Kiiara is surprised at the speed of the D-rank demon however she quickly blocks the attack but is sent flying all the way to the left, smashing into the wall.
"Urgh!!!" Kiiara exclaims and spews out some amount of blood. "That caught me off guard making it unable to reduce the shock of that attack."
The D-rank demon turns and starts walking towards her with his heavy stomps. The F-rank demons run towards Serena but immediately get burned to crisps upon impact with the cube. Serena's gaze is turned to Kiiara who staggers to stand up.
Once Kiiara gets up, she looks to her right and sees a weapon having the resemblance of a rocket launcher. She lifts it up with just her right hand, points it at the D-rank demon and shoots from it. A ball of fire of about two feet in diameter is shot at the demon which pushes him quite the distance. He grabs hold of the ball of fire while screeching trying to bring himself to a halt and tosses it to the wall beside him causing it to explode, creating a crack on the thick wall.
Kiiara drops the weapon as she ponders, "That elemental cannon launcher only had a single crystal left to create that ball of fire. I guess now I'll have to improvise with all the swords here and some of my thin flammable threads."
(An elemental cannon launcher takes the element of the user and creates a cannonball of that element. It achieves this with the use of some unique crystals which serve as the ammunition. Once a shot is fired, a crystal is used up and dissipates. )
Kiiara takes a deep breath and with her might, tosses a bunch of swords high up in the room. She starts running to her right, throwing up the swords on her path towards the ones she initially threw. She then quickly switches and begins dashing at the D-rank demon. Using some broken pillars as platforms, she pushes herself to the same height as the swords and starts kicking them against the D-rank demon. The swords hit the demon, piercing different parts of his body but the being remains standing. Immediately Kiiara lands, she heads swiftly for the demon; the demon moves his hand to slam Kiiara but she dodges and slips in between the demon's legs. The demon turns to attack Kiiara but she reacts instantly, jumps on his large hand and runs to his back. Once Kiiara lands on the ground, she quickly retreats and draws a thread. The demon shrieks with rage and turns around with anger as large pipes grow out of his body, releasing red lights like the exhaust pipe of a rocket. Nonetheless, Kiiara is fast enough to attack before he can move.
"Fire style: Blazing Trail."
Abruptly, she ignites the end of the thread she is holding and from there, the flames run through, igniting the line of thread wrapped around the body of the demon. The threads are connected to the swords, causing the flames to ignite the swords and since the swords pierced the demon's body, the flames burn into the demon.
"Release," Kiiara gently whispers and immediately a large boom occurs, blowing up the D-rank demon and some other F-rank demons around.
"Thank God the swords were also flammable," Kiiara exhales and stabs a sword she has been holding, into the ground using it to rest.
(A flammable sword is one that can be ignited and explodes upon activation by the user).
Suddenly, she starts feeling strong vibrations on the ground. She looks up to check the demon and sees it is still alive and active. The demon has his hands placed on the ground with the exhaust pipes vigorously jetting out hot red lights. He creates a shockwave on the ground which throws Kiiara some distance in the air and without delay, moves closer and lands a very powerful blow against Kiiara. The blow causes the ground to erupt and unleashes a might force against Kiiara, sending her crashing through all the upper floors of the six storey building where they are located, bursting out from the top of building and still flying high up in the sky. By this time, Kiiara is already in an unconscious state.
"Kiiara!!!" Serena shouts as she watches the battle between her and the demon. The demon turns, faces Serena and begins to punch the cube. The more he does this, the more his hands get burned however after some hits, the cube begins to crack.
Shockingly, Dia, the diamond princess, slips into the room, phasing through the wall behind Serena; she creates a cylindrical wall of diamond to shield Serena and push the demon back a bit.
The light of the cube gradually diminishes as the cube fades out. Serena is relieved seeing Dia's arrival. She stands, turns and thanks Dia for the help provided.
Dia smiles and replies, "You're welcome. I just saw Kiiara flying out through the roof of this building and she looks like she's in a bad state. Is that the demon that did that?"
Serena faces the demon's front, though they are separated by a diamond wall, and she says, "Yeah."
A blue glow enshrouds her and the entire building shakes violently as Serena's fury goes up. Her natural gold colored eyes switch to radiant blue with a triangular reticle as the pupil, therefore activating her lancer eyes. Slowly she lifts her eyes to face that of the demon and gives him a cold piercing glare.
"I'm going to kill you," she declares tonelessly. The demon shrieks and throws a powerful punch which shatters a part of the diamond wall but is countered and stopped by Serena's lightning induced fist. Serena immediately releases the grip of her fist and using her palm, twists the entire body of the demon, inverting him in mid-air. Right away, she slides towards the demon, cloaks her leg with lightning and pummels a heavy kick on the face, slamming the demon all through the room and bursting out from the opposite end. The remaining F-rank demons, pause for a bit and stare at the angry Serena. Dia signals Serena and tosses a spear to her. She grabs the spear and spins it around a bit.
"Thanks, this will do," Serena states. "I'm all riled up and some of my elemental energy has been restored."
She assumes a low stance and with incredible speed, zooms off. She starts attacking the F-rank demons, cutting off their heads and splitting them in half as she spins the spear like one dancing a majestic but brutal dance. The number of the F-rank demons in this particular area after Kiiara's intervention is a hundred and fifty (150) but as Serena's onslaught rages on, the number reduces drastically to about fifty.
All of a sudden, the D-rank demon returns into the room along with two others having the same appearance and just behind them is an enticing looking being of about six feet ( 6ft) in height. She is arrayed in some armor, having the form of a human but with horns protruding from her head and shoulders. Serena looks at them and sighs, "As if one wasn't enough."
She focuses her lancer eyes on the six feet (6 ft) female demon and is perplexed by the high amount of elemental energy oozing from the demon. "That's some high level shit. Wait, don't tell me that might be a... C-rank demon?!!"

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Monstrous Path
This story is both dark and lighthearted, it will have a lot of deaths and gore scenes but not just for the sake of being edgy or something like that. Every being comes from someone’s life — a womb, an egg, the world, a God, and from itself. Then what about me? I came from a container, so what does that make me? Am I still a being? “I do not know — I want to understand — why?” This was my driving force to live when I opened my eyes, I had no need for food, I only needed to satiate my curiosity. But as I learned early on, life was not as simple as it seemed. Note: The Characters in this world would always have a reason for living, and the world moves not just because of the MC. This would also have a lot of tearjerking scenes (or so I would hope) Culture, Race, Government, and Language can and will be different and though some Races like Elves and Dwarves are present, please do not think that they are the same as every other.
