《The Great War: Saturn's Factory》Chapter 12: Flowers

Juve's smiled at the falling body of Jack.
While she had originally been ordered to head and stay at the market place, she had heard the gunfire and headed over.
After all, there was no way some random gunfire and the perp they were chasing weren't connected, right?
So she had headed over, sneaking through the back entrance of a shop. And found Jack staring at the corpse of one of her comrades.
She had wasted no time and had unloaded her entire mag into Jack, dumping round after round after round straight into the filthy Birthed.
Jack's body slumped down, blood flowing from his wounds and painting the tea shop red with blood. Juve's cursed and threw her Spect-70 on the ground in annoyance.
You would think scientists would understand how to make a proper and effective gun, especially if said scientists were trained in making decent firearms. But no.
The Spect-70 was absolute garbage. The only thing going for it was its fast reload and firing time, that was the original idea behind the gun after all. Hit soft but shoot enough to make the weak hits deadly.
It was good on paper. But in the field it was trash. The gun was mainly built without body armor in mind, so when that became more and more common. The gun's usefulness plummeted, and the fast reloads and fire times were helpful. But since the damage was so pitiful.
It took several mags to put enemies down.
And don't even get her started with how hard it was to transport enough ammo to make the guns worth it, thankfully the Coris-15 was a much better firearm and restored some hope about the weapons in this country.
The gun had a long barrel on it, with a glazed frame of crimson red and blue. The action was filled with pinprick triggers. So that the bullet was leaving the gun as fast as possible when fired. That with the stupendous sight on the pistol made it a much better alternative than the Spect-70 when it came to firefights.

The only thing she complained about was the short-range. But that wasn't a problem in this case.
Jack continued to groan as Juve's loaded her gun up and aimed at Jack's head. Her finger was centimeters away from pulling the trigger. As she was about to fire, a voice filled the ruined tea store.
"Drop the fucking weapon!" A policeman said.
"Get down on your knees and drop the weapon, put your hands behind your head!" he continued to shout. Juve's looked up annoyed, several officers were aiming common Stokes-13 pistols at her, short-range but great stopping power.
It was a good gun, but she preferred the Coris. After all, it was easier to clean after a fight.
Juve's swung her pistol around and aimed at the police, the men wasted no time and fired. The bullets streaked at her, the rounds getting closer and closer. Eager for her blood and flesh. Suddenly everything stopped.
Or it appeared too.
The flowers on her arm were blooming, filling the area around her with a scarlet light. It almost seemed like magic, but she knew the truth.
The bullets were still moving, but very slowly. Each round slightly shooting towards her. But they couldn't catch her.
With a precise elegance, she threw herself over the counter and walked through the gunfire, sliding between the shot with pinpoint precision. She arrived at the first officer.
'Slit'
Her dagger cut through his throat like it was nothing. It was only a line to her, just a deep recession in his throat, yet to spill an inch of crimson. That was until she returned to normal.
Flicking her pistol towards the second officer she fired.
'Bang bang bang'
Three bullets shot from her gun, soaring through the barrel, stopping after leaving home. They were inches away. She turned and walked towards the final officer.
A smile growing at her lips. She whispered into his ear.
'You should've treated a lady with more respect.'
Her knife flashed down towards his sleeves, cutting them apart with a flick. Like a trained artist her knife danced around his arms with ease, carving them up with grace, this way and that way. Her blade tracing a delicate pattern on his wrists. Roses were drawn upon him, it was after all her signature.

Her work had to be appreciated after all.
As the drawing reached its end, she smiled, all that was left was to add color to her carnage.
It needed some red.
With a flick, her roses grew silent. Her body lurched as she felt every muscle, every bone, every minuscule cell cry out in agony for what she put it through. her body wanted to reject her, wanted to kill her. But couldn't.
Blood exploded out of the throat of the first officer.
His neck spilling out crimson ink, one minute he was making a normal but violent arrest. Then next his neck was bleeding. He slammed into the ground, his knee's gaining a few bruises and cuts. As his hands went to his neck with dullness. He was trying to defile and ruin her art!
She needed three perfect and elegant murders. Not some brutal and shameless slaughters, it had to be elegant.
Thankfully he ceased his pitiful struggling quickly. His body now a puppet without strings as it collapsed.
The second officer blew up quite literally. His entire head popping open like a melon with gore.
All his grey matter leaving the cranium home and splashing across the world with excitement. Though it was short-lived.
Her final officer and the one who had crassly yelled at her looked at his arms in surprise. His slit wrists and arms spilled out triumphant amounts of blood.
Painting his entire body with the crimson paint of the mural she had engraved into his body. Crimson flowers spread open their pedals. Soaking in the anguish and pain the man felt.
But she couldn't help but laugh. Her flesh cried out, her body squeezed. And her vocal cords crackled. As her body tried to inject her out to no avail. This was hers, the anguish, the torment. the misery. And finally the kill.
The man wasn't even able to let out a scream. Only a yell disappointingly.
His head fell off his shoulders, his cranium hitting the ground with a dull thump.
Juve's held her blade out with a smile as it shone in the evening light. A massacre before night would show the people of this city to always be afraid.
But it wouldn't last, she knew it wouldn't. Without a constant reminder, the fear would leave. So she had to remind them.
Her flowers glowed an eery red, a crimson red.
She looked at her arms, what could possibly be her getting upset over?
She turned towards her scene of carnage. Noticing one man out of place.
Jack had left, as she heard the screams of whoever was still here. It didn't drown out the faint creak of wood at the back, nor did it distract her from the trail of blood that led behind.
But what interested her was the footprints, the white footprints defacing her scene of glory. They would perish for that.
She smiled, at the very least today's kills would be more interesting.
Her body sent out another silent scream, but she quieted it. You would really think it knew respect. But unfortunately, it didn't. Thankfully the boss had promised her a gift! So her body only had to deal with their roommate a bit longer.
That was if they survived the manhunt that would follow them for the rest of their lives.

Fair warning I don't understand the rating system but I'll say M-rated just in case. This is my first story, I accept criticism but I would like the critic to explain the reasoning behind it. Also I'm still figuring how this site works and I have no schedule so updates may be sporadic, at least once a week. Not a native speaker but in the practices, too lazy to actually get the diploma, I got an average of 9.7 out of 10 at the Cambridge C1 level, the CAE, second highest european level for foreign languages, so it should be no problem.
