《The Great War: Saturn's Factory》Chapter 11: Chase

Jack hit the ground running. It would only take a minute at most for Rudolph to give chase so he had to put enough distance between him and the walking Christmas person.

That didn't work the moment he began to run.

Almost immediately a barrage of bullets ripped through where he had been a second ago with force. The decaying stone of the wall behind him being torn apart revealing the rotting skeleton of the apartment.

Jack immediately began pumping his legs as fast as possible, thanks to his mask he was easily able to get to the turn three meters away in under five seconds.

The bad news was that the bullets weren't far behind, another barrage of around thirty rounds ripped through the air behind him. Tearing apart everything around. Jack was thanking his lucky stars that his attackers had such terrible aim when a large bang! Roared through the air.

Jack barely had the time to even process the shot when a sniper round smashed through his shoulder with extreme ease.

His disguise didn't slow down the round at all, ripping through the cloth, the bullet smashed into his shoulder bone.

It stayed there for roughly one point two seconds as it ripped through the bone like a hot knife through butter. The round blasting out the front of Jack's shoulder as it smashed into another apartment building in front of him. Ripping through the door with rapid ease.

Bone exploded out of Jack's wound a second later, the organic shrapnel ripping through and around the gaping hole the bullet had left.

Jack inadvertently screamed in pain, as the bone cracker on the road he was on. His scream of pain turned more guttural when several rounds from Nate's Roman Spect-70 struck him in the back. The bullets only leaving nasty bruises but still leaving quite the mark.

Nate cursed as he pointed the gun at Jack again. Jack immediately reacted, curling his body into a roll Jack used the momentum from getting shot to speedily zoom towards the corner where he jumped out of Nate's sight.

Nate cursed as he charged forward, putting his finger to the trigger before he stopped mid-step. He was helping people commit murder. Sure the guy was spying on him and more than likely was part of another gang. Which made society give him the killing without consequence pass. But still.

Nate's pause was all Jack needed. Immediately he jumped out and punched Nate in the stomach, smashing his knee to Nate's nose. Nate cried in surprise as both his hands dropped the gun and went to his broken nose. Jack immediately caught the firearm and pointed it towards Nate.

Jack's finger went to pull the trigger when another round whisked past his face and smashed through the broken door behind him.

Jack cursed and immediately ran to the safety of the corner before running away as fast as physically possible. Mantis and the rest of the gang quickly made their way to Nate's moaning body.

"Crap, you Sanks and Geve's! Get him patched up quick, get ready for a raid, and destroy anything criminal! Wick's, Juve's, and Quack with me," Mantis said as she ran after Jack, a man with soggy black hair and crystal blue eyes following him. Along with a woman of Mexican heritage with roses growing out of her arms, and her feet having muscles and claws ready to burst. Followed by a man with a lion's mouth and duck/scorpion tail.

A man and bear quickly picked up Nate. The man having numerous dragon tattoo's having been planted into his skin while the other was a literal bear.

Mantis quickly gained on Jack, holding her sniper rifle up before cursing. "Crap, I can't get a good shot on him, Wick follows him with Quack. Juve's you're gonna head to the market place and catch him off there."

The two men and one woman quickly nodded before heading off for their respective duties.

Jack smiled when he lost sight of them for several minutes. Quickly stopping to take a break at a tea shop, hoping to blend in with the crowd. He quickly took off his mask, but not before a cop saw him.

The man sauntered over with a cocky smile on his face. "You got a license for that gun?" He asked Jack, pointing towards the gun he had on him, Jack nodded before pulling out his license.

He had it on him just in case a cop saw him with his mask or firearm on/out.

"Yeah, this is expired. We're gonna have to take that gun away." The cop said smugly.

Before Jack could reply Quack turned up, with an assault rifle in hand he let out a barrage of rounds straight at the cop with zero hesitation. The bullets ripped through the man like starving hounds. Tearing the man apart as his corpse struck the ground with a dull thump.

Jack immediately swung his rifle around and let loose some bullets himself, watching with some smug satisfaction when a round tore through Quack's shoulder.

"Take that bitch!"

Jack was unable to tell him anything else when a spray of gunfire tore through the shop. cutting through almost a dozen Vat-Born and Birthed alike as it sliced through them with savage brutality.

Guts and blood swamped the floor in the color red, bathing it in its entirety. And that was just for the Birthed. Vat-Born painted the floor and walls with yellow, green, and even blue blood. Jack quickly ran through the panicking crowd as he threw himself over the counter.

A man with a turkey head looked at him with surprise. Getting a clear look at his face, before getting a clear look down a barrel as Jack ripped the man's head open with several bullets.

He couldn't let people know his identity after all.

Jack quickly put on his mask before returning fire on Wick. Or where Wick was supposed to be, instead it was a bunch of screaming civilians. Jack's bullets cut through men and women and even children alike. Turning their flesh inside out as bullets ripped them limb from limb.

Wick immediately appeared after the quick burst and opened fire with a German pistol, the sidearm ripping through the counter where Jack was with ease.

Jack let out a roar of pain as a bullet clipped him in the ribs.

Wick smiled at that.

Wick wasn't able to do anything more when a man grabbed him from behind, Jack recognizing him as an officer. Probably the partner of the one who was currently rotting on the ground. The man started punching Wick with brutal power, each strike smashing his forehead to the floor.

Wick responded by swinging his pistol about and firing several shots straight into the man's chest. the rounds blowing apart heart and lungs alike from the blast.

The man's corpse quickly slumped down him, pining Wick to the ground for several seconds. Jack didn't let the chance slip by him.

Aiming the Spect-70 he stole, Jack let loose the rest of the clip straight on Wick. The bullets smashing into him with little resistance. The twenty-five rounds cutting through the corpse and into Wick. While most of the rounds either simply stopped at Wick's chest leaving light bruising. Several ripped through and tore apart Wick's heart and ribs.

Wick's body stopped moving. And Jack smiled underneath his mask.

That's when an entire magazine was dumped into him from behind.

When the enemy hears you, make sure they can never see you. When the enemy sees you, make sure they can never hear you. When the enemy sees and hears you. Make sure they can't get to their weapons. If the enemy can see, hear, and have weapons on them. I can't tell you anything else. After all, I make it a point to not talk to dead men or idiots.
