With every step she took, she felt more and more scared, the sirens were blaring loudly. It was deafening, she had her heart set on going back to her home, she was scared for her father. Every second seemed to drag on for an eternity, she thought about going to see the head librarian, but instead kept on running towards her father. She saw the smoke from the flames go on from the buildings that her father was in. Her heart started thumping harder and faster than before

She reached the elevator to go up, but it was blocked by the guards of the library.

“Let me up!! My fathers up there and I want to make sure he’s alright!”

Avery yelled.

“Strict orders to not let anyone up, everythings a blaze up there.”

One of the guards motioned to the other

“Here, I’ll take you to the secondary exit, come with m-”

Just then, as if time stopped, the apartment belonging to Avery’s father fell from the flames, and was falling towards them

Avery screamed

The guards picked her up and started running away from the falling building

She was powerless

As she watched her childhood sanctuary fall.

Another explosion went off, she saw the luminescent glow off it out of the left corner of her eye and instinctively looked. She saw many people lying on the ground, lifeless, like old toys that you left out.
