“Today marks an important day for humanity.
We’ve encountered a n-
The date today is April 17, 2026.
As of right now, we don’t know what changes will happen.
Please await further information.”
A young man is staring at his tablet, audio playing from it. When he’s suddenly startled by someone.
“It’s been days, Eiko.”
He jumps at the sound of her voice, his sister.
“Well, I want to hear anything if it ever comes up, and what’s the harm in listening in, anyway.”
Eiko looks out the window, the black snow was picking up, and fast. If you touched the snow with your hands it would start to burn your hands, if you let enough of it pile on you it would start eating through you like water on tissue paper. This world was flipped upside down, and there was no changing it. Harimi went and sat next to Eiko and rubbed his back, he looked at her and asked her,
“Why are we still living in this hellish world?”
Eiko's voice begins to break, and tears start to well in his eyes as he starts to think-
“Is there even a point to living like this anymore? How much farther will we have to go before we see the end in sight?
After he says the last word he calms back down and looks at Harimi.
“I just want to know what will happen once the snow stops.”
279 hours earlier
“Alright, everyone settle down.”
The bell rings and the voices start to quiet down, then the professor starts to give his lecture. Eiko is lost in his own thoughts; not thinking about anything while having his mind flooded.
“Earth to Eiko?”
Eiko snaps out of his trance and looks around at the person who said his name; the teacher, Mr. Fontaine.
