《Your Problem》Chapter 4

Late at night, the trollhunters were asleep in the library, cuddling close together. After making sure nobody would wake, Merlin snuck silently in and scooped up Blinky, taking care not to wake him. Once the old wizard was far enough away from the library he shoved the baby troll into a chair and shook him. Blinky rubbed his eyes, yawning, then gasped when he saw Merlin's angry face and shrunk away, finding himself trapped by the back of the seat.
Scared by Merlin, Blinky started to cry, and the wizard slapped him hard. "Shut up! Shut up! If you wake your friends I swear I will beat you to death, understand?" Blinky nodded slowly, staring at his kidnapper with wide eyes.
"Now, I know you have magical talent. I sensed it when your friends found me in my tomb, and I can sense it now. You were such a fool for not using it, and I could never guess why. And then I realized that you possibly didn't know. Perhaps I can force you into revealing it in your adult form, just to know?" Blinky simply stared, and Merlin groaned when he realized that the infant wasn't understanding anything he was saying.
With a few waves of his hand, Blinky was restored to his true age and tied tightly to the chair. Disoriented by the spell, the historian shook his head. His eyes narrowed as Blinky became aware of his situation, and he growled at Merlin. "What is the meaning of this? Untie me immediately!"
Merlin rolled his eyes, sick of the blue troll already. "Do yourself a favor and don't open your mouth unless I ask you to. You likely don't remember, but I placed a spell on you and you have been stuck as a child for about a week. During this time period I noticed something... strange in your behaviors."

The whole time Merlin was speaking, Blinky had been struggling against the ropes, and as Merlin drew closer he bared his teeth in warning. Mocking Blinky's fury Merlin continued, "I shielded it from your friends and watched you closely. Would you like to know what I saw?"
No reply. "Of course you do, you useless bookworm. You were using magic." Blinky shook his head, shocked. "Impossible! I do not have magical talent. This is only proof of your madness." Merlin whipped his staff around and hit Blinky hard in the throat. As the blue troll gasped Merlin once more spoke, voice rising in his excitement.
"Blinkous, you conjured lights for your own amusement! And now you are going to show me that the talent still exists within you." Still struggling against the ropes but finding them unyielding, Blinky asked, "Why do you even care? Even if I do have abilities as you say I am a historian, not a wizard!"
Merlin smiled evilly and ran a finger along the cut made by his staff, his smile widening as Blinky winced. "Do you know how I became the greatest wizard in the world? Of course you don't, you have sand for brains. Anyways, I absorb the magic from lesser wizards and concentrate it. Great for me, but it has the unfortunate side effect of killing the ones I take the magic from. You're one of the most powerful ones I've come across so far. Strange that you had no idea..."
Blinky gasped. "You're a monster. I suppose this is what you plan to do to me then? I could simply scream. I cannot imagine your magic being much use once Jim's sword has sliced through your brain." Merlin leaned against the chair, his face uncomfortably close to Blinky's. "You won't do that because every living creature contains traces of magic. I could siphon it from them right now. You wouldn't risk the deaths of your friends simply to save yourself- rather a detrimental character flaw for you."

Merlin stood back and uprighted his staff, face tightened with triumph at the defeated look in Blinky's eyes. The wizard was right, and he knew it. "Let's get it on with. Try not to move too much and it won't hurt at all... for me."

8 152Level Up Lord
Just the story of Karl who will become a strong and rich noble (or perhaps better) after being reincarnated into a fantasy world. *The summary may cause irrational hate for an unknown reason* *Greatly inspired by korean novels* *This novel is maybe written in Engrich* *Probably not very original* *Certainly not meant to be well-written* *Invisible Dragon is perhaps better than this novel* *Nobody forces you to read so you are reading this at your own risk* *You are supposedly not supposed to read this novel* *You read this and didn't like it? No problem*

8 131The Rules of Dungeoneering
The First Rule of Dungeoneering: This will kill you Sylvester Bayes, the 4th son of a small baron, has suddenly had his head filled with the memories and work of someone who had dedicated their life to memorizing every dungeon they could find and designing a new RPG system. Not about to waste these gifts, Sylvester quickly sets out to get rich quick and discover the reasons behind his sudden knowledge. (Please note, this is dressed up actual play from my testing of a tabletop RPG. It is actually how the game has gone and there is a very real chance that anyone, including Sylvester, could die in any encounter. To help make my job easier I am using dungeons written by other people, which is why I have listed this as a fanfiction. I put links to all of them in the chapters where they are relevant.)
8 195Code Name: GLITCH

What he doesn't know, however, is that GLITCH has a mind of its own. Literally. In the midst of a war between two countries, Xiomar and his newly-repaired Mech are caught in the middle. The enemy is trying to obtain GLITCH's technology... the power to give their own Mechs sentience and dominate the world. Xiomar finds himself pondering the morality of forcing a sentient being to fight on his behalf, and what that means for him as a dutiful soldier.
