Chapter 7 - G02's Mystery II
7 Days Since Teleportation
August 9th, 2065 - Earth Date
[Unknown, Unknown - G02]
The next report is from a civilian named Samantha, she had been appointed to medical overseer for all medical treatment and checkups, a doctor for a large hospital in LA. She is a relatively tall women at around 5’8”, pale skinned, beautiful blonde hair, green eyes, well proportioned figure, and she has a very serious look for a women. One word came to the mind of roger, it was “Professional”. It reminded him of Dianna, and he felt like flirting with her, but his wife so happened to be in the tent so he decided against it.
“Samantha, please give your report on everybody's well being and if possible their mental health.”(Roger)
“Yes sir, well everybody seems healthy and with this new information on this energy to take into account there does not seem to be any immediate problems, but my concern is that the energy may have long term effects instead.”(Samantha)
“I see….. please give me an example.”(Roger)
“Well, when we had used an Atom bomb in japan during WW2 it was not until a few years later that we discovered that the survivors had developed a form of cancer and it took many years for them to die or it went undetected for a number of years and again they had just passed away. In this example, this to was a new energy that we knew little of but it had devastating effects for decades into the future.”(Samantha)
Roger noded in understanding because it happened to be the main reason he had got rather angry with Williams in his carelessness.
“MMMm, Samantha what do you think of our circumstance then?”(Roger)
“Well sir, it’s too late to complain about it now we will just have to figure it out as it comes.”(Samantha)
“Yes you are correct on that, well on a side note is there anything else I should know about?”(Roger)
Roger still seemed to be concerned because this issue could cause major problems later on down the line and he wanted the point of view of a medical professional in the worst case.
“.....Well I’m not entirely sure but we may not need to worry about this energy harming us.”(Samantha)
“Ok…., you are gonna need to explain, because you are countering what you had just told us.”(Roger)
“Mmmm yes, well when we had first arrived we had a handful of people who were sick with the common cold, well from what i had noticed was the very next day all of these people had become healthy. Which in most cases I could have explained this a way as less mental fatigue of escaping their deaths. But this next part becomes a tad bit hard to just chock it up as coincidence. We have a total of 3 people who have a form of diabetes, well after 3 days of being here they all no longer need penicillin in order to live. Now of the 3, 2 I can once again explain away as them eating properly since they don't have much of a choice. But the third, there is no way of explaining it except as some sort of divine intervention, they no longer need it either even though they have a type of diabetes that stays with them for life.”(Samantha)

“So you are telling me that they may have been cured due to what… this energy? That maybe a bit of a leep. Don’t you think?”(Roger)
Samantha paused for a moment and thought of what the General had said, but no matter what she could find no logical explanation of how this could be possible except for god and the energy. She was never much of the religious type and chose the latter.
“Sir, it’s either that or divine intervention from god. I don’t know, you had asked me if there was anything else you should know about so I told you despite my doubts.”(Samantha)
“I see, well for now I guess that concludes your report, right?”(Roger)
“Yes, there is nothing else of major concern other than that.”(Samantha)
“Ok, for the time being keep monitoring those that have been cure. If by chance you come up with another theory regardless of how far fetched it is please be sure to let me know.”(Roger)
Roger having finished listening to Samantha's report decided it was time to move on to other reports. One of the last important reports was left to Sanchez and his team of scouts. Roger had briefly looked over the written report from Sanchez and was intrigued at what they had found so besides Williams surprise this next report was also covered in mystery.
“Sanchez, I have looked over your report and your guesses as to what has happened to the indigenous animal life here on this planet. Quite frankly it's a little unnerving, so I’ll need to hear about this report from you.”(Roger)
Sanchez nodded in understanding, cause he knew what this would mean if we are to find people or some sort of intelligent life on this planet.
“Sir, as I have said before in the report. Since we had shown up here we have not seen so much as a small rabbit, but with your permission I had formed a scouting/exploring party to find animals and any other life that we would not be able to see as a large caravan. We had went deeper into the forest east of our original landing point. As we headed deeper into the forest one of the first animals we had seen was a rabbit of some sort, this rabbit had an extra appendage being this horn…”(Sanchez)
Sanchez reached into his backpack he had laid up against his chair, he pulled out a 6” spike that seemed to twist into a drill pointed end.
“.... as you can see this is completely different from what we would normally find on our world, myself and my team had made a bunch of guesses and it came down to two different ones. One is that the animal is always trying to survive against much stronger predators so over time it evolved into an animal that can easily impale its would be predator at high speed. The other having to do with what we had found inside the animal, it was some sort of extra organ. We at first thought nothing of it mainly because from what we have found in evolution that some times some organs and appendages become obsolete over time and do nothing until they ultimately just disappear. That was until we started hunting for other animals and all of them had the same organ.”(Sanchez)

Roger took in this information and began to make some educated guess as to what was reported today along with what Williams failed to report until now. Roger looked over to Williams and began to speak to him after his pause of thought.
“Williams from what Sanchez has stated what do you think about this new information. Give me a theory of everything stated today, just a guess.”(Roger)
Williams thought of the information that has been reported today, he moved his body to get in a better thinking posture. Based on the info he made a couple guesses, but one stuck out to him among the many possible theories. Williams looked up from his thinking posture and began to report on his theory.
“ Well sir, based on what has been stated I first believe most life on this planet is extremely dangerous and resilient, because of this the animals and other life forms may be quite strong. Also I believe because of the interference with this energy life is even more dangerous to us because a the lack of simple diseases, meaning life here has developed to protect itself against other predators because of the possible lack of Natural Selection, in this case the lack of disease or weakness. Secondly, because of this lack of Natural Selection means that the animals and creatures have had a longer period of time to evolve into what they are, like the horned rabbit for instance. Lastly, the organs found in all the animals hunted, might mean that there is some sort of element that is constant on this world and all life developed the organ in order to survive, just as most life here and on earth developed lungs in order to breath in oxygen. As for what this organ does, from my understanding Sanchez, your men seem to think it’s a dormant or long since unused organ correct?”(Williams)
“Yes, all the animals since caught have it as well as all major organs in order to live life on earth”(Sanchez)
“MMM, so it too is a mystery, because this organ is a mystery I’m willing to bet that it also has something to do with the one element that is uncounted for on earth and that would be the energy here that I reported on.”(Williams)
Roger took that as the end of rogers theory, which in his mind he found as satisfactory if not quite possibly correct. Roger began to speak to the group of people in the tent finding their approval of what he has heard.
“So, Williams you believe that this organ and the health of our people is due to this energy correct?”(Roger)
“Yes, sir.”(Williams)
“Okay then, Williams I want you and your group to figure out what this organ does to the animals and report back to me on it. As far as that the rest continue on with your duties as you have. We will be meeting every once a week as a group, as far as urgent reports go, report immediately to me. Dismissed!”(Roger)
“Yes, sir.”(Group)
All who were present got up from their seats and stood straight and saluted their commanding officer and walked out of the tent, the civilians present stood gave a slight nod and walk out after the soldiers did. Roger, whom waited for all people to clear out, reclined back in his hard white plastic seat, wishing he had his black leather luxury office chair, sighed in exhaustion.

Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
