《ELYSIA EROICA》Ch. II - Magic & Sword

The essence one is born under is strange and unique in every way. I couldn't fully comprehend that ideology, but in some way or another, it was understandable.
One magical ability are sorted out by the potential of the parents, or so I am led to believe. Mother was in a way, a cleric with little to no skills in combat as a full-fledged sorcerer.
Father, skilled in the sword and has very little focus on developing further in the use of magic. Even so, he has an affinity within him, in where I have inherited or obtained one of similar value to his own. My magic attributes consisted of water, fire, earth, wind, lightning, light, dark, ice, gravity, and distinctly, sun and moon.
Not too long ago, two symbols had formed in my hands, my right with the sun and left with the moon-shaped crescent.
A year of life now, and this is the first thing that I have seen that not even my parents have a sight into which worries me to some extent as to realize myself in harm's way or harm itself.
"Water." I blurted out to Reya.
Reya immediately served me a small bottle of water to release the need for thirst away from my belly and dry throat. I gulped intensely by the need for fresh water and finished it all under a minute.
She moved away from my room leaving behind the opened window for fresh and chill air to enter. Winter was coming to an end, Which meant that my birthday was somewhere at the start of the winter season.
"Hya!" A manly battle cry reached my room from the outside.
I moved closer to the jarred open window and stared to the ground at the man who swung his large sword around with no hint of trouble and loss of balance. His physique kept the balance of the large sword in his control, as his muscles in the body helped the movements flow with every swing he came to cast away.
A hint of magic energy flowed out from every forced swing he exerted causing the newer blows to impact the wind around him moving the branches in the trees like a large gust of wind from a hurricane.
"Phew, that should do for today." He let out a final swing before plunging his sword to the ground.
He grabbed a rag from the side and cleansed off the sweat formed throughout his body with some areas unreachable to him from all the muscle he had formed. Luckily enough, I had no intention of building myself into a bulky and buffed-up manly body. I would prefer a more flexible one instead.
The sword served an interesting way of life on its own, skills of different existing styles from what father speaks of most of the time. Apparently, he is more experienced in the North God Style and Sky Sword Style, in which sky must be the sort of skills he had focused on using today. Advanced, is that really the level he had reached in developing his sword skills?
"There you are, come here. Time to get you cleaned and ready for the visitors." Mother entered the room lifting me away from the window.
We went downstairs to a small room near the living room filled with a large bowl filled with water steaming from the hot and cold temperatures mixed.
The touch of the flowing water left it warm and safe for my soft and small body. Soap was in a way different, deep inside me I just couldn't get accustomed to how it worked. Perhaps an effect of the ways I lived formerly.

This was all done for some visitors that were headed to our home, but in all truth, I didn't want to hang around and meet these people. I just want to fend off on my own and practice my magic abilities in secret and further increase my full capacity.
"Geez, let me wash your feet too."
Something I could not get used to as well, was the funny feeling I would get whenever my mother touched the bottom of my small feet which caused me to react with laughter. While I understand the need to be clean and all, I could not resist the feeling from all the touchy motions she does under my feet.
Then again, I wanted to get this over with quickly so it's obvious to immediately let her do as she wished. But the giggles still released right after only amusing her further from my small and young ways of acting.
"There all clean and well dressed!" She smiled as she lifted me all dressed casually.
For some reason, I thought it would be a more elegant attire for how she seemed excited and in wait, for these guests, she is waiting to arrive soon. The more I see her in this attitude the more I want to see the reason behind everything that she had been doing today.
Might as well attend to this little thing of unknown visitors on such a regular day.
The day went as normal and it wasn't until much later close to the night when a wagon arrived with five people riding on it paying their driver before departing from each other. They were heavily equipped in leather armor and iron. One had a bow the other a wand. Another carried a sword meanwhile another carried two daggers and the last one just his strong figure and large fists.
Adventurers are what came to mind just at the sight they emitted. Each step they took brought a sense of dedication to their work and their smiles to my parents showed their respect for one another.
“Long time no see!” Yelled the man with the sword. Human in all ways, with fiery crimson hair.
The one with the wand was a yellow blonde-haired woman with large breasts and a voluptuous body. The one with the daggers was more of a flat-chested black-haired woman with scorching blazed eyes of redness and whiter toned skin. The other was another woman, similar in physique to the one in daggers she hold a bow and had a stronger and muscular physique. The other was the large bulky and tall man, scary in a way, but seemed to be more carefree than serious compared to the others.
"It's been such a long time! I missed adventuring with you all!" Mother jumped out and hugged them all tightly after their long departure.
A party of adventurers both my parents traveled and explored with before giving light to me. So their decision to leave the crew was to raise me out here in this peaceful and calm village. Much appreciated once again mother and father.
Father who carried me introduced them all one by one, hoping for me to start some form of communication.
In all due respect, you really should change the way you view kids, father of mine.
James Cortana, the leader of the party, is a skilled swordsman under the Sky Sword Style, around Saint rank which is above father. Elina Skiervir, the sorcerer and support of the group, can heal and cast offensive magic. Ruben Light, in a way an irregular dwarf of sorts. Dwarves are normally small and large in width, however, he’s tall more befitting of a higher race of dwarves.

Jessica Yuiner, the one with daggers and proficient enough to keep her presence hidden. Like a ninja waiting patiently for its prey to move and take action in a sneak attack. Ana Greyburn, the wielder of the bow, is apparently a former member of the kingdom's military forces. Wonder what exactly made her leave?
“What a cutie! Elysia, so you named the child after the Elysians?”
Elysians, what is that?
An unknown origin to my name clouded everyone’s minds where mother only dodged the question. My curiosity awakened to the whole Elysians thing that now I need to know more of what the Elysians are.
Stories unfolded of the countless journeys they had after my parents had left the group. The challenges they felt were extreme and oftentimes required the need of both my parents but they found their ways to handle the situations alone.
The monsters encountered were scary in detail and supposedly tremendous and strong. Others are strong but smaller in size much like a basilisk and a miniature spider beast.
“It was a difficult, and tough time in that one labyrinth. A lot of those spiders roamed around, killing them was easy enough, but it left a nasty aftermath.”
By that, he would mean what was leftover from the decayed corpses. Monsters of any kind always have something to dig out from within the body. Which would mean that digging out countless spiders left their innards piled amongst one another soaking the ground in their blood and organs.
Reya served them food and drinks as they continued with their stories and my parents told their own. Over how difficult it is raising me whenever I wander off on my own throughout the whole two-floored house.
Money wasn’t a problem so far, so our income was pretty well compared to that of adventurers. Even so, they wanted the thrill of adventuring all over again as they felt old with me to take care of.
Should’ve thought carefully about having me to begin with.
"Has the affinity of his birth been found yet?" Elina asked examining my body carefully in every corner from head to toes.
"Not that we've come to see or examine yet. Why do you ask?" Mother was now curious over Elina's statement and started to examine me as well.
Afraid closed in as I had no idea what it was that they were examining to be exact. But I knew it had to do with my awakening in magic as I would soon reach the age of it occurring. Even so wouldn't it be too early to question that at this point in my life, or does it by chance work differently for the elves?
"I can see he has a close affinity to wind, earth, fire, and water. Meaning he is a Quadra-element Sorcerer. Yet I feel more than just the common elements moving through his magic circulations. Ice is most likely one of them, as the cod breeze excels from his body."
Like a brief talk with the magicules themselves, her vision came from the aura that came from the magic that laid within me rather than something out in plain sight. She was an elf, after all, elves are known to be close users of magic and capable of understanding the way it works.
"Must be due to my family lineage? I fear what may happen if they were to find out anything concerning his future as a mage." Mother stated worriedly of any danger I may come to face in the future.
The night passed through with more feasts for the adventurers and demonstration of their skills while their leader was drunk and passed out soon after. Father took me to bed alongside mother as they expressed a strange look of worry and not by the magic talk from earlier.
"We'll take our leave then." Mother expressed in the gloomy and cloudy day that followed.
I was in the arms of Reya as mother took a quick kiss on my forehead as father followed right after as they wore a different style of clothes from the normal and casual. They wore armor and overprotective gear while father took a new sword I had never laid eyes upon and mother took her staff.
This was their departure into a new journey, seeing me off with brief explanations of what they aimed to achieve with me in a safe place. This village was our home, but from a long talk that I overheard just last night, they were leaving to go out and adventure as they missed it all these years. Reya proposed this idea seeing how they were all in a dull mood over not being with their friends again in the world.
Truth be told, this was perhaps the worst decision they could’ve made during once youth. However, in my eyes, this subject doesn’t matter one bit.
Strange enough on its own, my emotions seem to have altered bizarrely since I’ve first come to light. What I believed to be the good in life of having parents started to dwindle at skyrocketing speeds. Even so, I loved these parents of mine, but can’t get emotional enough to feel sad about their departure for who knows how long they’ll be gone.
All I could do now was see them off to their new adventure as my early years are now spent with only Reya to take care of me during these long days. My mind was still set on advancing into magic, and along the way, I will pick up the sword and train under that path as well.
I could only wave in the now long-distance saying goodbye to them despite the short time I’ve spent with their friends and even them in this part of my life. That is if they are gone for a long while, considering their leave when I am only above a year old.
Time would pass, and their return never came during the passing months. During this time I’ve found myself expanding further in magic and step by step walking with my two feet. It would take a while to get used to, but the process up to the conclusion would be worth the trouble and hard work.
I've started casting beginner-tier spells written down in a textbook of learning. Reya wasn’t around during these times, so studying alone proved to be an easy feat.
I scavenged the house every once in a while searching for things to learn from and experience using. Such as a book about watering plants and such things as crops. I’ve started helping out in some areas during harvesting and watering of the plants belonging to and treasured by mother.
After a small while, I started swinging my toy sword around in practice. My swings were frail but with the right amount of practice, I could release a breeze of wind much like father but more befitting of my young body.
Time was going by slowly, and soon enough my parents hadn’t returned when I had barely turned two.
