《ELYSIA EROICA》Ch. III - Dormant Liege

Adventuring was truly fun to go out and seek new things in the world. Money, fame, treasure, adventure, countless reasons to less that way in life.
It was foolish enough on its own, leaving everything, home and family for the sake of pleasing oneself on an adventure. I just couldn't comprehend the need if it.
Was I mad, no that feeling doesn't sit right with the mood they set upon me? Rage over their self-serving exploration into unknown territory. No, that's not it either.
Why was it that I had these thoughts, the memory is vague?
Connected to my distant past, which I've tried so many times to bring into my brain. Perhaps that is to be the source of my frustration.
The connectivity between both current and past life feels too similar. I know to have experienced the same before, yet the memory just wouldn't arrive from the top of my head.
Was I the fool to seek out a lost memory in the new life I've come to experience? Maybe I am, then again would someone else come to the same conclusion as I.
“Destruction.” A voice filled in the darkness that illuminated my path.
A nightmare to encounter ever since their departure. The land around, to be nothing but vast cloudiness of sinister black fog. A voice would echo words that led to darkness instead of light. My mind was interrupted by something or someone during this time, like a mare casting fear in me from the leave of my parents.
Leading my thoughts into the darkness that engulfed me. This was the life I was leading from the day they left, filled with gloom and nothing good to come out up until now.
“Leave immediately you fiend!” A scream echoed in my room.
Coming out of the dream, my eyes lid upon Reya as she holds her iron sword high against a dark shadow that rid itself from my body. Its face hold a soaked and bloody torn look as its mouth widened from desperation.
The creature was bound by light-powered chains that lightened the room and held it in place. This was a skill that came from Reya herself, shackles that left the beast without escape and within proximity of instant death.
She swung her sword diligently imbued with light magic as it slashed through the monster dispersing fog similar to that from my dream.
A Black Mare, the cause of the nightmares I was led to indulge in during the night ever since that day. Perhaps my insecurity led it astray into my home and now into their lasting final moments.
Although its motives were strange as it had not sucked the life out of me. Instead, it spoke to me what seemed to be a message from someone or the creature itself.
“Young master! Are you in any harm?”
Desperately searching for wounds or any sign of damage inflicted by the mare. Afraid of what may have occurred to me during the night, despite it now being two months from the first dream to its confrontation.
“You’re okay, thank god.” Relieved from the whole inspection.
Her worries were answered with my okay state from the mare. This after all was just an effect she's come to deal with from her former job.
I am deeply sorry for the constant worries, Reya.
“Sleep tight, I'll make sure nothing line thus happens again.” Her dignity was high and dedicated.
~Reya POV~
I worry about the mentality of the young master. Left behind for a short while for adventuring by his own parents, while it was a foolish thing to do, their lifestyle away from what they loved doing took a toll on their ways of acting. That came to be the reason for my decision to work under them, to teach them how to be good parents which indeed worked, but the arrival of their former friends changed their minds.

This was fresh and new, but I came to handle my ways around the house and village quite well considering their departure. Luckily it appeared that their disappearance didn't change the ways of how the young master roams around the house. But it worries me, after all, he is being raised away from his parents, but their return isn't too far away.
Half a year was what they came to propose seeing as they hold feelings attached to their child, as every parent would. I accepted, why wouldn't I? This was my job, but also something that would serve to heal my wounds hold in from long ago.
A mare, the cause of much of the suffering I contain, and the reason for the deaths of the royal prince and princess that were put under my care. I ran away that day, fearing the consequences that I saw coming from my inability to protect them.
But now, I had saved the young master from such a familiar fate to those two young children. My purpose here holds itself up to this day, but I fear that these creatures will continue to disturb his life considering how things are now.
A letter, sent from the lords, their adventures have held to their expectations while they fear they might've caused another incident for the lady. Their nightly habits took the best of them, so I came to expect another young master or mistress to come out eventually.
Seeing how things are now, I can only imagine the emotions that may come when they bring light to another child and return to Elysia.
~Elysia POV~
Thunder in the tips of my fingers. Their intense shock nullified slowly as their form began to adjust in power with the focus I came to enforce.
Electricity circulated through my small body, much like surfacing an ocean throughout my entire body striking vividly here and there with every shock that came thundering out. The color would change every few seconds blue, white, red, purple, black, and a few others.
Some are hotter and more challenging to hold compared to one another.
"Still not enough."
My development continued to grow, physically and in terms of my developing skills. Reya has yet to find out about my secret venture and my plans to keep it a secret remain. Wouldn't want to get too much-unwanted attention, after all, I still know little of what there is to realize of this world.
My capacity seemed limitless, but I still exhibited the mana at my disposal until there was nothing left to only be left unconscious right after. Thankfully, I did it at the right time and in a hidden place to not go noticed by Reya, otherwise, she would've become more worried over my health or the secrets I harbor.
Incantations were useless, ever since I started the whole ordeal, never once had I cast a spell with an incantation except once just to see what the difference was. There wasn't much of a difference, only the fact that it would take a longer time to spell cast with incantations compared to evoking them without a single word of speech.
"Let's see, there are still so many beginner-tier spells. Intermediate seems to be fast approaching, but would starting intermediate lead to more trouble?"
“We await!” A voice shouted in my ear.
The voice was deep and was much more formal, while the sinister aura surrounded the source. There was nobody around only leaving questions over who would be the individual or creature to leave away immediately after speaking.
I was alone, as usual.

“Reya would never do that, just what in the world is trying to communicate with me?”
"Young master, would you like to head to the village today?!" Reya called out from downstairs.
Lately, I have been heading out of the village and checking out more of the shops available in the center. While only a few, most of the ones to head on shopping would be traveling adventurers and the citizens of the village. Which came to explain why most of the people walked around with their weapons, despite the security of the guards placed around.
"I'm coming!" I called rushing downstairs with my small legs.
Running got easy the more I practiced, but I still needed to make sure there was nothing on the ground that may lead me to my downfall. Even if it happened to just be a small miniature pebble, it could lead me to harm if my steps weren't safely taken care of.
Not much has changed since the time I came out with mother, the same shops stood their ground in the same exact locations. The adventurers guild stood in the center of it all, which is where Reya was headed to send out mail to both mother and father.
This brings the question to the place I came to be born into. Central Continent, five kingdoms in total with my homeland in the center of it all, the Aursur Kingdom. It's a peaceful kingdom and has become the main place where the five different kingdoms or empires come into, in order of planning for the coming future.
"Hehehe, look doesn't he look hopeless."
Kids around my age and above looked down on me, solely for the reason that my parents were away on their little adventure. Their parents would lecture them, if they happened to be close anyway, but their tone of speaking to or about me didn't hinder my ways.
I didn't seem to care about the things they believed and thought about me, but whenever they mention something bad about Reya I bring out a glare at them, causing their nerves to react negatively. Fear would show on their faces.
"Send this to the Solice Continent, I believe it should be in the northeast branch guild that stands there." With specifics directions, that must be how they do their work in sending mail.
Strange and honestly pretty cool.
How far is the Solice Continent?
"Ouch!" A brief sound of pain left my body.
The cause was the landing of a small fruit slammed into the top of my head by the one who sent it far in the distance with a smug look of pleasure. He was a troublesome kid, everyone knew it, even his parents who did nothing to hold him away from trouble, not even giving him a lecture and discipline.
"Get lost, creep!" He screamed before running out of the building with everyone's attention.
Now that I recall it, perhaps their actions came down to the eyes I had come to be born with which are too unnatural compared to everyone else.
My right eye had a purple iris with a white ring in the center of it, my left was a mixed blonde and white color to show more of light yellow light. On my left, a red ring came to be in the middle much like the white one from my right eye.
These were the unnatural things, two different colored eyes, with an unknown circle-shaped ring in the center of them both. Glares would often come by this little fact, from all children, adults, and elders.
Whispers lit the room, most talking about my distinct difference from everyone and how they come to believe me a monster disguised to be human. These words, came from the adults and adventurers around this building who saw the entire show from the boy.
"Let's go, young master." Reya announced grabbing my hand motioning me to exit the building with her.
My head tilted to the ground, and a growing intense pain formed in my chest. Little blurry fragments of memories came to slowly pop to mind, but nothing to show like always. Gritting my milk teeth, anger generated from within and brought a rise to a stronger development into my dark magic affinity.
I need to calm myself... It's just children messing around, nothing else.
Optimistic, I led myself this way knowing the fact that it wasn't just to play around but to seriously drive me out of the village we call home. Do all the adults see me in the same way those children and many of the others do?
"Young master, do not think too deep into the foolish childsplay. You are no monster, you are the son of your parents who happen to be great adventurers. Don't let them get the best of you, be strong and grow to be the person you were destined to be." A comforting tone released from the maiden voice of Reya.
"Yeah, you're right." I replied releasing the pain from my chest making me calm and secure.
"Hyah!"
The small toy sword was the only thing to serve me as a tool to exhibit my sword capabilities in this early time of life. Wooden swords, even if they were befitting of my small size would be to heavy to raise with the little amount of strength I could muster.
While this toy was made of wood, most of the heavier weight was removed by the use of either magic or an unknown substance. It was light despite the larger portion it seemed to have built.
Swinging was all I was capable of at this time, so sword training will serve better the next year or after two years. In that case, patience will need to be my strong point for that amount of time.
"Awaken, your honor."
It came once again, this time in the outside of the house as if the thing came to follow me around. The voices were different each time, once feminine and another masculine and oftentimes it would be as an entire group of individuals speaking in unison.
Fear would strike, but wasn't too serious knowing now that the more I come to look around there would be nothing to lay eyes upon. It was in a way, telepathic.
"You're reign awaits."
Each time in a more sinister tone, this was getting too common lately. Some dark forces or ghosts seeking to take my life while luring me closer despite the long and vast distance.
Even so, their ways of speaking were that of familiarity, even if I were to know nothing of the ones calling out to me at these times. I know for certain that this would be my first life in this world, so there should be up to nobody who knows about me, even in this new body of reincarnation.
Unless, I was not the only one to reincarnate onto this world. Then what would be the reasoning to keep my memories detained, I wonder?
"Ah." I shrieked.
A large gust of wind blew violently in my direction as a cloud of a skeleton formed to pass through me alongside different forms of mysterious individuals. It was in a way a hallucination as the wind blew, but no clouds came to form in person but in my mind.
These people were monstrous, I could see that with only a first glance and they were the ones to speak to me every day either once or twice now. Something about it felt odd, as I know to feel some sort of resonance from seeing their physical appearance but the memory just wouldn't come.
I ran inside seeing the dark cloudy sky form leading rough rain to pour down intensely into our land and home. The mood was terrible at this point after witnessing all of that just moments ago.
"Will you bathe?" Reya asked with preparations complete from the warm tub of water.
I grabbed the towel she hold in her hands and nodded silently before heading into the small room. She was alerted of my odd behavior but did not question the reasons behind them.
Removing my clothes, I stepped into the tub of water and began to rinse away the dirt and use the soap to clean myself completely. My mind was unbalanced with many thoughts, the people of the village and their thoughts about me, my parents who are adventuring and their soon return, the voices wreaking havoc in my mind with the familiarity with them.
Everything was all over the place, much as myself, as I had no clue as to what my life was leading to. Would I end up being the good guy, or perhaps the evilest one to roam the world.
Just the thought of it brought shivers down my spine.
