Kong Yue abruptly blurted out, “I remember something!”
He turned to look at Emily’s mother and asked her if he could use the sword once. The lady also being curious about yue, allowed him. Yue became cheerful hearing her permission and went outside in the courtyard of the house. The courtyard was not big, only a few sq. meters in area but was enough for him to swing the sword as he wished.
The sword was 1.6 m in length. It had a grey luster of metal. Yue grabbed the hilt with both hands and swung it down vertically to feel its motion. Feeling the sword and moving it horizontally he stopped the sword in midair. Then he said in a low voice, “9 immortals execution technique, wind slash!”
He swung the sword while rotating it at an angle of about 80 degrees from vertical and a howling wind sound could be heard. The howl was not loud. He then changed his stance and swung it down again. He changed stances 9 times and then drew the sword back in its sheath. He moved back a little then drew it at an inconceivable speed. “Immortal execution!”
He sheathed the sword and presented it back to the lady staring at him. She was filled with awe at the youth before her. The youth was only about 14 yrs. old but could actually wield a sword so skillfully.
“You can keep the sword if you want to, I mean.”
“Really?”
“But, it’s not free gift, okay. That sword is worth 150 gold! You will have to eventually pay for it later. Ah! Why don’t you join mercenary guild? With your skills and strength you will be able to earn quite a lot!”
“What is a mercenary guild?” Yue asked curiously. He hadn’t heard of it before.

“They are a group of people who are very strong! They do various jobs like hunting, catching bandits, collecting herbs, and various other jobs. You should try the mercenary guild test yourself. Go get yourself cleaned up and take Emily with you. That brat must’ve been bored been grounded. ”
“Thank you!”
Yue was quite joyful thinking about joining the mercenary guild. When he had touched the sword he had seen various images of a sword moving. He followed those movements as if it was natural. He went back in the living room with the sword on his back. He quickly went to bath and after getting all refreshed shouted out, “Emily lets go out. Aunty has allowed us! We have to go to mercenary guild for my registration.”
“Really? You pervert is going to become a mercenary? Ha-ha. ”
“Stop joking we will leave after an hour”
“Let me get ready!”
After an hour Emily took Yue by the hand and guided him to the mercenary guild. The guild was the biggest structure in the village. It was quite lavish inside. Once they got inside both of them were filled with awe. There were a large crowd of people going to counter, lining up to sell materials and buying stuff. Some were taking missions while some were just drinking booze in a corner.
Yue went to the counter for registration followed by Emily.
“I want to register here!”
The female receptionist looked at Yue. Yue was quite tall and had a healthy body which could compare with an adult. She quickly replied, “Ok, here fill this form. Then you have to pick a mission. Once you complete it you will be ranked and become part of guild officially.”
“Ok.”
After filling it, Yue with etiquettes of a gentleman returned the form. Turned to look at Emily and asked her.

“Which mission should I pick now?”
“Dumbo! Just take one which you like and has a huge reward!”
“Hmm. Here is a mission like that. It says collecting soul fire flowers, reward 200 gold. Wow! With this one mission I can pay all the money for that sword.”
“Soul fire flowers? I know where you can find them! But it requires you to go to the central part of the forest.”
“Ok then I will be taking this mission.”
Yue tore the leaflet of the mission from the board and stuffed it in his bag and left.
Someone asked in the hall. “Did you see which mission those kids took? The one no one dares to take. They have a death wish!”
Yue returned to Emily’s house and decide to go to forest the next day. He decided to keep the mission a surprise from her mother. He went to his bed and took out the sword. He started at the sword and murmured.
“Such a profound sword technique! Who I am? ”
Soon he was slumbering in his bed like a baby. The next day he woke up early and asked the directions for the place from Emily. But instead she refused and told him that she will come with him. The duo silently slipped in the morning fog so as to prevent being stopped by the aunty.
Soon they were at the outskirts of the dense forest. Growls, roars and growls of bests could be heard.
“Are you sure you want to come?”
“Yes definitely! Without me you would be lost in the forest. Here”
“Huh. Ok then follow behind me and be cautious. Give me the directions now.”
“First of all, we have to go straight for 4 KMs from here, then there will be river. Then after turning to the right we have to run for 3 KMs and then. Ah it too complicated just follow me after that. Ok”
“What do you mean by run?”
“Ah. You only have strength weed brain! Lake is the only water source in the 10 KM radius inside forest so it has animals coming occasionally so we have to be careful.”
“Humph. Let’s go now and finish this quickly.”
“Yeah, let the adventure begin!”
