《Broken Emperor》Chapter 24

They walked towards the center of the hall where the other heirs grouped, becoming the talk of the ball as soon as they came in.
Diana, the gorgeous princess in red dress, bewitched all those who dared to raise their eyes to stare. If Sakura was the embodiment of a sweet goddess, Diana's beauty would also be described as that of a goddess, but a villainess. A voluptious figure with a small waist, flawless skin, with sharp and cold eyes, drawing confidence and character as if she stood on the battlefield. The valkyrie of war, was the nickname she received that night.
The man whom she held the arms would obviously be the subject of jealousy of all the men. Yet when they met his frightening gaze, they all shook their heads to the ground.
Cayn, the handsome third prince made his appearance. A tall man with a dream body, a slim waist tightened by his black waistcoat, broad shoulders that couldn't hide with his shirt his monsterous back, big hands with terrifying veins as if they took an eternity to be drawn. His face looked cold, with black eyebrows as sharp as swords, dazzeling golden dragon eyes that carried the prescence of a beast in human clothes. People who saw him for the first time, mistook him for a scultupre of a god, while the women who attended, already pictured him as one. Including Sakura, who couldn't take her surprised eyes off him.
Ella joined them midway. "You, look stunning," she said to Diana.
"You too, my dear," she answered with a smile.
Ella then could see, from Diana's eyes and speech, the smile she gave, the change and weight of her words that were filled strenght. Ella also smiled warmly.
Cayn stared at these two with a satisfied look. He inclined his head, whispering in Diana's ear.

Diana's eyes widened by his actions, but soon came to become cold after hearing what he said.
She looked at him and nodded, then turned to hold Ella's hand taking her away towards Yuki who was chatting with her husband Rin.
"Excuse our rudeness if we interrupt, but we wish to have a word with her royal highness Yuki," said Ella elegantly holding her dress.
Rin smiled at them, "It's okay, if that is her wish as well."
"I will be back darling," answered Yuki as she turned to the other two.
Rin then stood alone with a glass on his hand. He took a look around to see Allen and his brother Rai talking with Cassis, he decided to walk towards them.
Suddenly he felt chills that ran through his spine, as if he was watched by the god of death.
His whole body froze, holding the glass trembeling. he turned hastly to look around.
He was sweating, trying to find someone or something in the middle of the crowd, to suddenly meet the gaze of Cayn.
Cayn had his eyes set on him.
Rin's mind ran loose, his body acted weirdly, panting as it was hard to breath.
Dangerous, was the only word that came to his mind, meeting those beastly eyes.
Cayn smiled, and started walking towards him.
Rin's eyes widened, the whole world around him turned silent. He could hear, the slow footsteps of Cayn slowly approaching. While he felt like a sword's sharp edge was slowly gazing the skin of his neck.
He snapped back, coming to himself, at the sight of Cayn that already stood in front of him.
Rin raised his head, while Cayn's was of the same height he felt so little in front of him.
Cayn smiled again, "Straighten your back," he said.

Rin's eyes widened, staring blankly, "Y-yes." He tried to balance himself.
Cayn turned his eyes, "You don't want her to misunderstand, do you?"
Rin shivered by his cracked voice, turned fast to see whom he spoke about. He followed Cayn's gaze, that fell on Yuki who was looking worriedly in their direction.
Rin gritted his teeth, stood straight this time, smiled sweating, "N-no."
Cayn also smiled, "I come in peace, I assume you already confirmed the contents of the documents with your parents."
"Y-yes, we will help with your siblings' plans against the Sylvia princes."
"Of course you will."
Suddenly the knights announced the Sylvia princes' entery, Jackal the crown prince and Elric being his little brother.
They were tall, with huge beards, tattoos all over their faces and neck. No matter how fancy they dressed the barbarity and wildness of their eyes, the arrogant way they carried themselves could never hide. But they weren't as eye catching as the couple before them, making the crowd forget them in mere seconds.
Rin also turned to Cayn, who was staring at those two.
"What is your purpose, for reaching out to me?" He asked.
Cayn didn't say a word, and put his hand on Rin's shoulder, making him turn to face the two princes.
Rin was both confused and surprised, until he felt strange power flowing through his body from his shoulder. Before he could react it reached his eyes.
A whole new world opened up to him, he could see the energy fluctuation of every being in this hall.
He looked at Cayn in surprise, only to notice this one didn't have any.
Cayn smiled at him, "You are still too weak to feel mine."
He turned around embarrassed, seeing Diana, Ella, and Sakura's monstrious enegies.
"Focus," Cayn spoke again.
Rin shaked, turning to look at the two princes, both also with immense energies. But, something was different, he stared for a moment.
As soon as Rin noticed the demonic energy the power from his eyes disappeared. His eyes were stupefied.
"Your parents are coming soon," said Cayn.
"E-eh yes, but don't worry, we will help provoking those two as best as we can before then." Rin was already speaking as if he worked for Cayn.
"You don't need to," Cayn turned to meet Rin's eyes, "They will come to you themselves." He looked at Rin for a moment, "Can you win?"
Rin gritted his teeth with challenging and determined eyes, "I won't lose."
"Good," Cayn smiled.
Rin shivered at his bloody smile and bent his head down unconsciously.
"Tell your parents, to bring that dragon pet with them," he continued.
Rin's body froze, this is the first time he heard someone, dare to call a god, a pet.
He raised his head, confused and acted as if he didn't hear well, "Excu-"
His eyes widened, looking at Cayn's shoulder, the world blackened as if they were the only two standing. And there stood a cat, who stared at him coldly with its cruel blue eyes.
He bent his head down again, sweating. "I-I understand, sir."
Cayn smiled, "A secret between us, Hmm? He said patting Rin's shoulder before walking away.
The events and words he exchanged with Cayn in those few moments, ran throught his mind for the entirety of the ball.

Small Chests Are Fine Too
It is an undeniable fact that good things come in small packages. More often than not, it is necessary to trim the fat in order to bring what really matters to the forefront. Having extra bulk may seem like a good idea, but in reality it is merely a crutch that will one day become a hindrance, as it is no substitute for personality nor ability. Indeed, often times it is the small things in life that brighten up our daily lives and constantly remind us exactly why we do the things we do. However, it is important to keep an open mind, for while bigger is not always better, there are also times when it is. This holds especially true when it comes to hopes and dreams, which have been known to require a suitably large container from time to time. And while dreaming big could potentially lead to massive dissapointment, one will never truly reach fulfilment if they think too small. A truth that one small woman with meager aspirations is about to find out. DISCLAIMER: This is a spin-off/side story of my main series, Everybody Loves Large Chests, which is also mandatory reading to understand this one. It runs parallel to the main plot, branching off from the chapter titled Upheaval 2, so there will be spoilers for anyone who hasn't reached that point.

THE TIME MACHINE (Completed)
The Time Machine is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative. Wells is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposely and selectively forwards or backward in time. The term "time machine", coined by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle. The Time Machine has been adapted into three feature films of the same name, as well as two television versions, and a large number of comic book adaptations. It has also indirectly inspired many more works of fiction in many media productions.
