"Hello. Uncle Ruff. Can you pass by home?"
And in the next moment, Ruff stood in front of Alex who still has his phone held to his ear.
"What's the matter, Alex?"
"It's nothing. I just found out the person that I told you about last time."
"You mean Dr. Hudson," Ruff said holding his waist.
"Well, yeah. How did you know?"
"It's a long story."
"Well, I have all the time I need."
"Okay then. He is the one responsible for the accident that happened 13 years ago." he paused, " when I discovered I was a speedster, I carried out the investigations on him."
"Are you gonna tell me what you found out?"Alex asked expectantly.
" Nope. I don't want you involved in this kid. "
" And,... Please notify me if you notice any other mutations. "
And just like that, Ruff disappeared.
Alex's mom, who had just stepped into the living room, looked around in confusion as if searching for someone.
" Mom, what's the matter. Are you looking for something? "
" Who were you talking to? "
" No one it was just the TV."
Alex's mom pushed everything back to her head for the excuse was reasonable.
Alex headed to his room for a quick shower and then came back downstairs for dinner with his family.
Alex's dad wiped the food particles at the corner of his lips and said, " Your brother's exchange program will soon be done. "
"Oh really..." said an excited Mrs. Anderson.
Alex on the other hand didn't know whether to feel happy or sad.
When his brother is around, he always feels as if he lives under his shadow.
His parents forget him sometimes when he is around.

Although he shared a good relationship with him, he still had mixed dwellings about him coming back.
But he still missed him though.
"Mmm," Alex simply nodded squeezing out a small smile.
After dinner, Alex went to his room and slept early for school.
A pod opened in Pex Corp and white fog escaped it as it whizzed.
A necked leg stepped out and soon after a 19-year-old's naked body followed.
He looked around the large laboratory with blue lighting.
Filled with many other blue ice pods with human figures in them, organized in rows.
"Perfect Job, Rico." complemented Dr. Hudson.
An old scientist with a prosthesis metal hand holding a clipboard smiled a bit after hearing the compliment.
Dr. Hudson moved around the person that just stepped out of the pod marveling at how well built it was.
" So what are this one's special abilities?"
"It's telepathy, sir."
"Mmm." nodded Dr. Hudson, "Splendid".
The human-like thing looked in the air in front of it and smiled as if seeing someone.
Alex saw it look directly at him, and immediately he was woken up by the alarm on his phone.
Alex rode his bike to school and waited other cruel hours of being taught.
The lessons dragged on and the bells rang.
Today Alex decided to stay at school a little longer.
So he headed to the school's fields and watched the football team and cheerleaders do their rehearsals.
And to his surprise, Julie was part of the cheerleaders too.
He watched them perform flips and pyramids.
Julie who was now resting and drinking a bottle of water, noticed Alex look at her.
Alex's felt nervous as Julie approached him in her cheerleading outfit.
"Hi," said Julie who now stood in front of him.

Alex's heart overflowed with joy, looking at those sky blue eyes, her blond hair tied into two ponytails, and that red and white cheerleading outfit that hugged her calves precisely.
This was the first time she had ever spoken to him.
"Hi," he replied.
But for some reason, he couldn't look away from her eyes.
She took a seat beside him.
"Uh. So... Congratulations with the acing the quiz."
"Thanks... I never knew you do cheerleading."
"Well, it's cause you've never been to the field before."
Alex but his bottom lip and nodded in realization.
"Alright, then I gotta head back for practice. Nice talking to you Alex," she said standing up then ran back for her rehearsals.
Alex looked at her running back to the other cheerleaders, with her hair swaying from right to left.
Alex couldn't stop thinking of how he had a conversation with Julie for the first time.
He sat there looking down at his shoes, still daydreaming about his first-ever conversation with Julie.
And then suddenly, three boys in red and white jackets with the school's logo on them approached Alex and sat beside him.
Alex was pulled back from his daydream and focused on them.
"Hey kid, we're looking for a mascot for our team."
"Sorry but am not interested." Alex declined politely.
"Am sorry, that isn't a request. It's a command." said another boy coldly.
"Please I don't have time for this. I have to head back home right now."
Alex picked up his backpack and stood up.
But before he could take another step, someone the third boy pulled him back to sit down.
"Where do you think you're going? Huh?"
"Please just. Let me go." Pleaded Alex.
"Alright, you can go." said one of them sarcastically.
Alex breathed a sigh of relief and gladly left.
But just after taking 10 steps, the boys followed him again and surrounded him.
Alex didn't know what to do, looking at the athlete's body in front of him, he backed up.
But he soon stopped when he hit the chest of another boy.
"There's no escape for you." said the joy behind him.
"No please I beg of you. Alright, I'll be your mascot."
"Our what?..." said the boy in front of him, "Oh that deal expired 20 seconds ago."
He pushed Alex and Alex landed on a chest behind him again.
But quickly again he was pushed from behind.
He was pushed back and forth by the two boys and then the third boy punched him on the left cheek.
Alex fell to his knees but they didn't stop there.
They punched him three more times and then suddenly they fell to the ground catching their stomachs.
Alex got off his knees and looked around but no one was there.
He could only come up with one explanation and that was his uncle. Judging by the breeze that just passed him by.
