Testing fate
Part 19
*Selena's POV*
"We love you so much. We will be back when you get out of surgery," I said kissing his head.
Justin hugged him before we were practically thrown out of the room so he could be taken into the operating room where he would be for hours as they removed a part of the tumor that was starting to affect his liver.
"He will be okay. He's tough like his mom," Justin whispered in my ear knowing I was on edge with the risk of this surgery.
"Thanks for coming down. He's always so much more calm when you guys come down before a big operation," James said after they took Brayden away.
"We love him. He's an amazing child. You are really lucky to have him," I said with a faint smile.
"We're going to go. Call us when he's out and then when he's awake and we'll come down," Justin said as he laced his hand in mine.
We waved goodbye as we got in the elevators to go to the lobby where Kenny was waiting to take us home.
"I feel like it's time we tell him," I said looking out the window on the drive home.
"Really?" Justin asked turning towards me.
"He deserves to know," I nodded getting out of the car when we arrived at his house.
"Hey I have an idea," Justin said wrapping his arms around me as we waddled to the living room together.
"What that?" I asked turning to look at him slightly.
"Let's make Brayden cupcakes," he said making me smile.
"That's a brilliant idea babe," I said kissing his nose before he ran to the kitchen to get out what we needed.

"Someone an eager Bieber," I winked laughing at my own joke. "Get it? Get it. Bieber, beaver?" I said laughing uncontrollably.
"Wow," he said rolling his eyes.
"Hey don't even pretend that's not funny. If this acting and singing thing doesn't work I could always be a comedian."
"Don't quit your day job love," he said sarcastically getting bowls and measuring cups out.
"Oh so you don't think I'm funny? If I'm not funny what was it about me that made you fall for me?" I asked seriously.
"Well, you're humble. Despite how long you had been in the industry you were still the girl next door. Plus it helps that you were pretty adorable and so nice," he said making my cheeks burn scarlet.
"What about me?" He asked raising an eye brow as he cracked and egg in a bowl. I went around making another part of the cake that was needed while I spoke. "You were funny and confident. You weren't afraid to be straight up with someone. I liked the honesty. Some people are overly cocky but you were just enough. That's what got me," I said honestly. "Not to mention for day one you were very romantic."
"What was your favorite thing?" He asked looking at me as he stirred the batter.
"As sweet and romantic as the staples center was my favorite were always the days we would cuddle in bed all day and just be together. The times when you made me feel like we were the only people on the world."
*Justin's POV*
I smiled brightly as Selena gushed all her secrets about me.
"I love you," I said in a soft voice pulling her towards me in a tight hug.

"I love you," she said reaching up on the tips of her toes to kiss me.
"Let's get the cupcakes in so they can cool and we can put frosting on them. In the mean time we can cuddle on the sofa and watch the notebook. How does that sound?" I asked kissing the top of her head as we pulled out of the hug.
"Absolutely perfect," she beamed.
"Oh hey I think you got something right there," I said tapping her nose with my battered finger. "Oops was that me?"
"You little," she said narrowing her eyes as I shrugged innocently.
"Accidents happen babe."
"Oh is that so?" She asked going toward the bag of flour.
"You wouldn't," I said as my eyes widened.
She stuck her hand in the bag and smiled devilishly.
"Selena don't you dare," I said shakily backing away slowly.
She pulled her fist full of flour out if the bag chucking it right at me causing flour to go everywhere.
"Well look what you did now. Have fun cleaning that up," I said walking out of the room leaving a flour trail behind me.

"Babe, that was James he said to come to the hospital. Grab the cupcakes!" I called out getting the keys.
The whole way from the car to the elevator was all fun and laughter until we made it to the ward.
"Hey guys!" Selena said to James and Leigh who turned around with dead eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked feeling my heart breaking. "Did something happen in surgery?"
Leigh broke down crying as James pulled her to him explaining.
"No, the surgery went great. Everything was looking good up till about an hour after. Apparently while he was still under the anesthesia one of the sticked came undone and he bleed out internally," he said with a shaking voice as tears welled up in his eyes. "He's gone."

Captain Critiques: A Grumpy Pirate Review Book
(CURRENTLY OPEN)When it comes to reviews, I'm probably as harsh as the hellhole most story ideas crawl out of. I'm blunt, sarcasic, to the point and I know what I like in a story. As you can probably guess, you don't wanna take my advice if your like an overprotective mother about your story. Who am I kidding, EVERYONE is like that about their stories. But, if you could find the courage to pry the story out of your cold, crabby hands so I can give my brutally honest opinion then be my guest. Just don't try and start a fight once I provide it. You DON'T wanna fight a pirate. .................................. I reserve the right to decline stories as this will be taking up quite a bit of my time and if I say no, I mean NO. If your blurb is unreadable I will decline it. If it includes the genres mentioned in my 'Hell No' section then I will send it back where it came from.Do NOT critique the Captain.
