"Okay Ms. Cameron, what are we talking about today" Dr.Ford smiled, crossing her leg over the other "You look beautiful by the way. I love the Ginger on you"

Cameron smiled brightly "Thanks! I was tryin' sumthin' new" She ran her fingers through the 28 inches she just yesterday. "I like da' new chop" She smiled.

Dr.Ford recently since the last time Cameron saw her, cut her hair. She usually had her hair straightened but today, she had finger waves and her hair was dyed blonde. Cam loved the new color on her, it complemented her brown skin very well.

"Thank you, girl. I cut it so me and my man can be twins since he loves it when I copy him" She shrugged making Cameron laugh. He and her husband remind her so much of Mama Lena and Santana.

"But back to you. What are we talking about today?" Dr. Ford got back on topic.

"Relationships," She said simply, Dr. Ford nodded. "What type of relationships? Like friendship relationships or..." She tailed off.

Cameron shook her head no "Just regular relationships" She said "I met dis man while I was at lunch wit' Pookie and Lex last week and I-I got his number" She blushed a little.

Dr. Ford smirked a little. "Did you text or call him? What's his name?" She asked.

"Umm, I did actually. We've been texting back and forth the past few days, his name is Salvador. He's really sweet but I'on kno', something's off" She explained.

"What do you mean by something's off?"

"Like every time we text, it's good. He loves complimenting me, he has his own house and car. No kids and he's fine lawd" She sighed happily and Dr.Ford just laughed at her. "But every time he asks to take me on a date, I blow him off and make up an excuse," She explained.

In the back of Cam's head, she felt like the good things with Salvador weren't going to last long after she explained her situation.

"Your thinkin' about what Seth said?" She asked, Cameron shamelessly nodded then put her head down.

"Things might be good now but kids. A lot of men want kids and I'm not able ta' give dat. What if I'm just fooling myself?" She fiddled with her locket.

"You just turned 21 correct?" She asked, "Yeah," Cameron mumbled.

"Why are you so focused on giving a man some kids when you're just starting your adult life out." She asked, Cameron slowly looked up while thinking.

"You're a 21-year-old girl. Relationships don't revolve around kids Cam. Maybe in the future when you are ready but you're not, what's the rush?" She said.

"I—" She sighed, figuring she was right.

"Are you ready for kids Cameron?"

"I-I'on kno' " She mumbled. Cameron honestly never thought about what she wanted. When she was with Seth, she only thought about his feelings and needs, and wants. Never much so of herself. She always felt like she would be conceited and selfish in thinking about what she wanted.

"From what I see, you're not. You can't go into new relationships and just think they aren't going to work because of kids. Not every man wants kids and not every man feels like that's a priority right now. You and Salvador just started texting, in the process of getting to know each other. Don't worry about giving him some kids." She advised.

"You can't have kids with just anyone anyways. Kids are golden tickets, you have them with the right person at the right time. You have to stop trying to think how to please a man and Please Cameron"

Cameron nodded, taking in all the advice. Sometimes talking to Dr.Ford felt like she was talking to her mom again.

"Do-Do you think I'm ready for dating again?" She asked hesitantly.

"It's about if you think you are. I can give my opinions but it's about how you feel." She smiled gently. "Do you think you over that sorry ass man?" She asked and Cameron started laughing.

"You kno' you're wrong" She giggled. She was so blunt at time and that's what Cameron loved.

"Just being honest" Dr. Ford shrugged while chuckling.

"I think I am. It's almost been a year but I felt like I've been over him after da' last time I saw him but me havin' dat emotional attachment to him made me feel like I wasn't" She said truthfully. Cameron hasn't thought about Seth in months but she thought it was weird in a way.

They have been together for almost 4 years and she felt like she was over him 4 months after the relationship. She used to think about the good times but now she only thinks about what he said and how it's been hunting her.

"I feel as if you are but pass yourself. Don't rush yourself, take your time to get to know people and not just him. Don't limit your options."

Cameron nodded then chuckled "Maybe I should have waited to text him like Sekani told me"

"Who is Sekani? I don't you ever mention him before '' Dr.Ford asked, watching Cameron's eyes light like a Christmas tree causing her eyebrows to raise.

"He's my best friend. We grew up together. Well, he's my brother's best friend before me but dats still my bestie. You wanna see him?" Cameron questioned, grabbing her phone from the side of her. Dr.Ford looked at her suspiciously before writing something down in her notepad.

Cameron gave her the phone when she pulled up a picture of Sekani that she took of him yesterday.

Dr.Ford's eyes almost popped out of her head when she saw the picture "Kani Cartier?! Our quarterback?!" She exclaimed, still looking at the phone in shock. Cameron smiled and nodded. She always loved how people got excited about Sekani. He was something to be excited about.

"He's handsome ain' he?" Cameron smiled, taking her phone back and waiting for her to disagree so she could show her ass.

Dr.Ford chuckled "He is. I should have put two and two together in the beginning. Your brother is Reem Lloyd?" She asked, writing more things down on her notepad.

Cameron nodded "But yeah, dats my bestie. He was mad at me in da' picture dats why he's lookin' like dat" She giggled.

Dr.Ford smiled at her, seeing how extra excited she got to talk about him "What you do?"

"Nothin'! He's jus' mean as hell ta' me but doesn't like it when I'm mean back ta' him. He's jus' rude'' She explained while laughing. She didn't understand why Sekani was so rude to her but he meets his match sometimes when she entertains him.

"Since y'all grew up together, do you see him like an older brother?"

Cameron frowned "No. I mean I knew him since I was like 4 or 5 but neva' like dat. I always saw him as my brother's best friend" She shrugged. The more she thought about it, she wondered why she didn't see Sekani as a brother as she does with Leon.

"Have y'all always been besties?"

"No, but it was like we both were goin' through break ups at da' same time and den he moved across da' hall from me. We jus' got close after dat" She shrugged.

Dr.Ford nodded while writing something down and Cameron really wanted to know what it was. "Tell me more about Sekani," She said and a smile grew on Cameron's face.

"Hi Lance" Cameron smiled gently at her father's Assistant when she walked up to his desk. Lance looked up from his Ipad and smiled back at her "Hey Cam, he just got back into his office. Zay is in there too" He informed her.

She playfully rolled her eyes "Of course he is. I like da' new hair cut" She said before walking past his desk and approaching the tall glass door where she saw Nassir and Xzavier sitting on the other side.

"Do y'all ever take a break? And you know, not much work?" She interrupted the conversation they were having before she walked inside. They both looked up and smiled at her before standing up from their seats.

Unlike her and Kareem, Xzavier actually went on to follow in their father's footsteps, and would soon after Nassir and Santana retire, he would be taking on the family company.

"Why didn't you call first li' girl?" Xzavier raised his eyebrow after hugging her and she went around the desk to hug her dad.

"Because I was comin' from my therapy session and I jus' wanted ta' stop by and say hello since my name shoot isn't for a couple of hours" She explained while going in Nassir's bottom drawer and seeing what type of snacks he had. She loved coming to his office, he had all types of snacks and they were all good ones.

"How was it? Give me a Twix?" Nassir said while sitting back down in his seat. She nodded, grabbing his Twix and the snacks she wanted before standing up straight.

"It was good. I think I progress after every session" She smiled, giving him the Twix then leaned on the desk, opening the hot fries.

"You've been glowin' since'' Xzavier smiled. She laughed while chewing the chips that she had in her mouth before speaking "You always say dat bear" She shook her head. He and Kareem always told her since she started therapy that she was slowly becoming the old Cameron again.

"It's true, you don't have da' dried up tears on yo' face. No baggs under yo' eyes and even been smilin' more" Nassir said, opening up this Twix wrapping paper.

"Thank y'all" She chuckled. "Did y'all already book yall flights for next month? I keep forgetting and why is it so darn high ta' fly?" She frowned. Next month was Kareem's wedding and she was excited but she always got caught up in personal things to book her flight to Baton Rouge.

It was like the more she forgot the more the prices for flights went up. It was ridiculous and if it wasn't for her brother who she loved so dearly, she would just stay home.

"A flight fa' what? He rented out two private jets fa' us" Nassir looked at her funny.

She furrowed her eyebrows "Well why ain' nobody told me?" She threw her hands up "I was 'bout ta' spend $868 on a flight" She huffed.

They both laughed at her "You would kno' he rented out two jets if you came ta' da' house last Sunday" Xzavier raised his eyebrows while unbuttoning his jacket.

She smiled "Me and Sekani went on a Picnic at da' beach. It was so nice"

Nassir chuckled "You and Sekani dis, you and Sekani dat. You like him or sumthin' " He asked, turning his chair to look at his daughter.

Cameron scrunched up her face "Ew, no"

"It's always Ew witchu'. It was jus' a question Angel" He shrugged, going back to eating his Twix.

"Cus dats nasty. Dats Sekani" She shook her head, throwing her trash away in the small trash can nearby.

"You blind mo' den Ray Charles," Nassir mumbled and shook his head.

"Huh?" She asked since she didn't hear him. "Nothin' Angel. I like your hair" He smiled while Xzavier was cracking up since he did hear what his father said.

Sekani sighed while driving down the street with a disappointed look on his face.

"Kani I'm sor— I'on wanna hear dat shit Tae" Sekani cut him off and shook his head. Kani was honestly tired of all the apologies that Deontae has given him over the few months of knowing him. They all were starting to become bullshit.

Deontae huffed, sitting more into the passenger seat, and looked out the window. "Fighting was one thing but fuckin' stealin' dawg? Really?" Sekani was highly disappointed that he had to stop what he was doing to come and get Deontae from the mall for stealing.

"You actin' like you never was my age and stole somethin' " He scoffed. "I wasn't, " Sekani snapped, causing Deontae to suck his teeth and start mumbling things under his breath.

"If you can afford da' shit you can't get it. Ask someone fa' da' fuckin' money, not fuckin' steal!" Sekani lectured. He didn't understand what having to be young had to do with anything about him stealing. Him being young did the excuse of the fact of him still because he still knew right from wrong and chose to do wrong.

"Who Ima ask fa' money? We don't have money" Deontae scoffed.

"Me. If you really wanted dat damn jacket, I could have more den willingly gave you da' money dawg" Sekani fussed.

"Look, I ain' yo' charity case and I'on need you buyin' me shit" Deontae snapped.

"I neva' said you were but if you'n need shit from me why you called me ta' come pick you up? Huh?" He asked, glancing over at him. Deoatae just sat there quiet.

"Exactly. You wanna be hard so bad and tuff so bad and lookin' fuckin' dumb" Sekani said bluntly. Deontae sucked his teeth "Ain' nobody tryna be nothing" He waved him off.

"You are doe. You kno' damn well dat stealin' isn't sumthin' you do or yo' ass wouldn't have got caught. Hangin' around da' wrong crowd gon' get yo' ass locked up. Be yourself fa' once, stop tryna be like dem nigga. When da' time comes, dey gon' leave yo' ass high and mothafuckin' dry" Sekani said, pulling up to the small house.

"Dey yo' friends but whea' was dey at when you were gettin' put in handcuffs? You got lucky da' mall security didn't call 12 on you"

"Stop bein' a follower and stop callin' dem niggas yo' friends. Real friends ain' gon influence you ta' be down bad. Real friends gon' motivate you and wanna see you up." He put the car in park and then looked over at Tae who was looking out the window.

"Whatchu' wanna do in life Tae?" He asked.

"I wanna play football" He mumbled.

"So why you not doin' it? Why don't you try out fa' da' team at school?" He asked while frowning.

"Manee, we don't have the money fo' allat. My pops locked up for life. My mama is a damn alcoholic who can barely afford to keep the light on in this bitch" He shook his head and started to grab his book bag from the backseat.

"Dats free" Sekani said.

"It's not tho. I gotta buy cleats and other equipment that the school doesn't provide for me" He shrugged and started to get out of the car.

"I'll tell you what." Sekani started before Tae could fully get out of the car "You try out and I'll but da' stuff you need. Don't think of it as sum charity case cuz it's not dat" He explained. "If you need da' money, I ca' give you a job down at da' center and help you train but it's up ta' you"

Tae sighed "If you foreal 'bout football, you'll do it. Stop hangin' wit' dem niggas and focus on what you really want in life. Dey jus' gon' bring you down. Be a leader" Sekani said, readjusting in his seat.

"Ight," Tae said and closed the door. Sekani watched him walk to the door and waited for him to get inside before driving off.

"Aight, I'm 'bout ta' go ta' Tripp house. I'll see ya' lata' " Karsyn said, coming into the Kitchen with a duffel bag on his shoulder.

"Aight, be safe bro. love ya' " Sekani told him as he took the marinated steak out of the refrigerator. "Love ya' too," Karsyn said, walking out of the kitchen.

Sekani heard the door "Hey baby mama, Bye baby mama" He heard Syn saying, guessing Cameron was finally coming over. He put the bowl of steaks down, grabbed the drying cloth, and walked out of the kitchen after he heard the door close.

"I should strangle yo' ass wit' dis dryin' rag" He mugged her as she walked in with bags in her hand and a vlogging camera. Her jaw dropped while she walked past him into the kitchen.

"First all off, hey ta' yo' grumpy ass too" She put the stuff down on the table "And what I do? We were jus' cool like 2 hours ago best" She turned around frowning and pushed up her glasses.

He looked her up and down, she had on just a white crop top with grey biker shorts and some weird fuzzy socks. Her hair was pulled back into a messy bun and she had on the geeky glasses that she only wears at home. He smiled to himself before throwing the drying cloth at her "You was supposed ta' be her an hour ago so we can start cookin' " He fussed.

"I got caught in somethin'! I'm sorry" She pouted, opening her arms up for a hug. "Caught up in what? And I'on wanna hug you nomo" He mushed her head away and picked up the drying cloth from the floor.

She gasped, following him into the kitchen "I said sorry. Don't do me like dat" She hugged him from the back. He felt a tingling sensation in his chest, like usually when he was around her or she touched him.

"Get offa' me and let me be mad girl" He started laughing while trying to move her arms from around him. "Nooo! Stop it!" She giggled when he reached back and started trickling her. She moved her arms, still laughing and trying to get away from him.

She slightly pushed him up some from the counter before stepping in front of him. "I'm sorryyyy" She looked up at him, and blinked her eyes at him. He looked down at her, smiling, pushing her glasses up on her face before kissing her forehead.

"You smell nice and look handsome" She complimented, moving from in front of him and going over to the table. "Thank you," He said, watching her. She always complimented him in any way when she saw him. She said it was to boost his self-love for himself and he couldn't lie, it worked in a weird way.

Sekani had been Journaling a lot and it seemed to be working in a way he couldn't explain. He was seeing himself for more than his success and was seeing himself as the handsome man his mom raised. He was seeing light in his looks and the good Attributes in himself. Just yesterday he started loving the way he took care of himself. He had a self-care day alone and it was much needed, more than he will admit.

"I got da' potatoes but you have to make those" Cameron spoke, breaking him out of his daze of staring at her.

"Why?" She asked, watching her unbag the groceries she bought over. "Cuz I like da' way you make homemade mash potatoes, mine aren't good like yours" She shrugged, bringing the bag of potatoes to the counter.

He just nodded "You still doin' dat video?" He asked, grabbing the bag of red potatoes and opening them. Recently Cameron decided to do youtube. Everyone always told her how she should do one since no matter where they are, she is vlogging and she is funny along with having the personality for it.
