《Chasing the New Girl - (Complete)》Chapter 23

The next morning Jolie woke up a little early because they had to make sure they were there before 8:00 to see who was going to be there to meet up with Blaze at the statue.
Her hair was still a little damp from the shower last night so she blow dried it, sprayed it with heat protectant and then straightened it until it was shiny and smooth. She applied some makeup the way they had shown her how and sprayed on some Ralph Lauren romance perfume that her Mom had bought her for Christmas.
She put on her favorite skin tight jeans that hugged her curves and a tight white t-shirt, pulled on his letter jacket and decided to add some big gold hoop earrings before standing back and looking at herself.
'I look hot today!' she thought and she snapped a full length picture of herself and posted it to her Instagram.
While she had her phone out she pulled up the website out of curiosity to see what the bets were doing. The score now stood at 350 for Austin, 230 for Blaze, and Chaz was still at 50. The thing that she was shocked by was that Austin's best friend Ryan had been added and he had already racked up 250 bets. The total pot of money was now $6,300! That means that the winner would get $12,600. This was getting crazy.
She wondered why Ryan had been added and why he all of a sudden had so many votes. Did he tell people about them going out to lunch yesterday and about the kiss? She was glad she had already told Austin before he heard it from someone else.
She heard a beep outside and ran out the front door to see Austin waiting in his Jeep. He looked so hot behind the wheel of that black Jeep but it seemed weird to see him without his letter jacket on. He stood up out of the top of the Jeep as she came closer.
"Wow! You look hot today! You look really good in my jacket."
She smiled and blushed a little as she climbed into the passenger side and shut the door. He leaned over and gave her a kiss and then studied her face.
"How in the world did I get such a hot girlfriend?"
She smiled and said "dumb luck?" teasingly.
He leaned in and pressed his soft warm lips to hers again and she could smell his intoxicating cologne and feel the slight stubble on his chin. The feel of his lips made a bolt of electricity shoot through her body and her stomach felt like butterflies as his tongue wrapped around hers and his mouth covered hers completely. She melted against him and wanted him so bad.

Austin pulled back and took a breath and said, "Ok. We've gotta stop that or else I'm just going to end up skipping school today and taking you back to my room and ravaging you all day."
Her face flushed red from the thought of it and she shyly looked down and pushed a piece of hair behind her ear.
"You're so cute when you act shy like that," he smiled before taking off down the road. "Hey I wanted to ask you a question. The homecoming game is coming up on Friday and the dance is on Saturday. Will you go with me?"
She was so excited! She had been hoping he would ask her because she had never been to a dance before.
"I'd love to. I'll have to go shopping this week with my Mom to find a dress but that won't be a problem."
"Good. I can't wait to go with you," he said smiling and grabbing her hand, wrapping his fingers through hers. She couldn't believe she was going to a formal dance with Austin. The thought of being out there slow dancing with Austin in front of everyone made her a little nervous but she was excited too.
They pulled up to the school at 7:50 and parked in his reserved spot where they had a clear view of the statue. "Now we wait," he said. She looked over at him with his blondish, brown hair swept across his forehead and warm blue eyes, his clear tan skin and straight white smile and she just melted on the inside. He was so good looking, it made her feel like fainting sometimes to look at him. She decided he was the best looking man she had ever seen, even counting famous people in the movies. None of them could compare to him.
He noticed her looking and asked, "What?"
She smiled and said, "Nothing, I was just thinking about how cute you are."
He leaned in and gave her a kiss and then they focused their attention on the statue. At 7:55 who else should come walking up to the statue than the Queen Bee herself, Mandy. Austin and Jolie both gasped and looked at each other.
"Her! Really?" Austin fumed. "I'm confronting her. Come on!" he said getting out of the Jeep and Jolie rushed to get out and catch up. "You! I should've known you were behind this!" he yelled at Mandy.
She looked stunned and said "Austin? What are you doing here?" She looked over at Jolie who was wearing his letter jacket and her eyes narrowed. "and you're here with her? How sweet," she said through gritted teeth.

"Yeah I'm with her. She's my girlfriend," Austin said and Mandy bristled at those words like they were nails on a chalkboard. "This was a setup Mandy. We sent the text to meet here from Blaze's phone to find out who he was working with. But why Mandy? Why would you try to destroy my reputation by telling everyone I was behind the website? What did I ever do to you? You're the one that cheated on me."
"Isn't it obvious why I did it?" she grumbled. "I'm still in love with you Austin and it kills me to see you with her. I was hanging out with Blaze and he told me what you guys were planning to do that night so we came up with a plan. We went and bought a burner phone from Wal-Mart to send the text to stop you. Blaze and I wanted to break you two up so I could have you back and he could have Jolie."
Austin stared her down. "So you made me look like a horrible person to the entire school, making them think I created that disgusting website to win me back? I'd hate to see what you do to people you don't like!" he yelled in frustration. He let out a big exhale, running his hands through his hair as he paced back and forth and then said, "Mandy you're never getting me back so just give it up and move on. Find someone else and forget about me. I'm in love with Jolie now and nothing's gonna change that."
He turned and grabbed Jolie's hand and wrapped his fingers through hers, giving her a kiss as they walked away. They could hear Mandy crying behind them as she ran away in the opposite direction.
As they walked into the long hallway where all the lockers were, everyone turned and looked at them holding hands with her wearing his letter jacket. They all started whispering. They made it down to her locker, which was close to his and she got out her English book and shut the locker back up, turning around.
The next thing she knew he was pushing her against the locker and sliding his hand around the back of her neck, covering her mouth with his and her knees felt weak as she closed her eyes. His tongue moved past her lips and massaged against hers and there was a desperation in his kiss that she hadn't felt before. She was so surprised by it that it took her breath away instantly.
"Hhmmhhm" they heard a throat clear behind them and they both turned to look, with Jolie trying to catch her breath, her heart pounding out her chest. Standing right there was the principal with a scowl on his face and his hands on his hips.
"You both have detention after school tonight for PDA. Get to class!"
"But I have football practice after school sir to get ready for the big homecoming game against East coming up this Friday. I'm really sorry. Is there something else we could do instead of detention for punishment?"
"Hmmm," the Principal sat thinking. "You are the star quarterback and I really want to beat East. They're our biggest rival. Why don't you both come Saturday morning next week and volunteer at the school car wash fundraiser instead?"
"We'll definitely do that sir and thank you. I'll control my urges from now on. I promise."
"Make sure you do son," he said, patting his shoulder and walking away.
After he was out of sight Jolie turned to him with her mouth hanging open in shock. "I can't believe you did that at school! What were you thinking?" she asked, smacking his chest in disbelief.
"I was thinking how hot you looked today wearing my jacket and I couldn't help myself," he said raising his eyebrows at her playfully. "What he doesn't know is that I was already volunteering at the car wash anyway because I'm the Senior class president, but hey this way you have to volunteer with me so it's a win."
"Are you serious?" she laughed. "That's hilarious. Do you always get out of trouble just because you're the star quarterback?"
"Maybe," he said with a sexy smirk, making her shake her head and laugh. Austin took her hand in his and walked her to her English class, looking around before planting a soft kiss on her lips and whispering in his deep sexy voice, "I'll see you in your next class."
She watched him as he walked away down the hall and let out a deep exhale. She was so in love.
She walked into class and took her usual seat in the back. She wondered how awkward it would be sitting next to Blaze now that she knew he and Mandy were behind framing Austin for the website.
Blaze walked in 5 minutes late to class as usual and the teacher remarked, "Glad you could grace us with your presence today Mr. McDaniels."
"You're welcome. I aim to please," he remarked, flopping down in the chair next to Jolie.
When the teacher was finished with the lesson he told them they could have the rest of the period to talk.
Blaze looked over at her and she was nervous to talk to him because she knew she needed to confront him about helping Mandy, among other things.
