Justin, Sly sighed as he fell through the black.
No character creation?
Glancing down at himself as he plummeted through the darkness.
Auto-Generated characters…Eh, didn’t get a bad one.
He thought, as his descent caught speed with each passing moment until…light came ahead, when suddenly a world opened up all around him, briefly blinding him.
Rubbing the light out of his eyes, Sly glanced about frantically as the world came closer and closer.
Falling right out of the sky, yet he grinned widely.
Well fuck, they didn’t hold back on looks did they!?
His mind running wild at how real it all looked and felt, Sly couldn’t help himself from chuckling as he opened his arms wide. Spinning about mid-fall and enjoying it, he briefly caught a glance of both his legs…Staring at them right before hitting the ground with his back.
An explosion of snow rose all around him, as he lay there groaning.
“Fuuck, oh my back, oh that hurts. Oh that feels real.” He grumbled whilst standing back up, popping his back and then proceeding to begin a full stretching routine. “I guess, If this was real, I’d be dead. Nice entrance but, come on, no character creation? Not even a mirror to begin with?” He mused, coming to a pause on one knee.
Sly stared down at it, his left leg. Running his fingers slowly over it, he moved on to feeling every inch of it. “No pain.” He said, lost in thought through long silent moments thereafter as he grabbed hold of his shin and pressed, harder and harder till the pain did begin to come.
Sly chuckled, “Kyll and Birse beta tested this, they never told me it…it would be so real.” He thought out loud, standing back up to then inspect his UI and the world around him. Finding himself at the edge of a forest to his left of massive trees rising insanely high and surrounded by snow, whilst to his right was a snowfield with a somewhat large frozen lake.

Grinning even wider, Sly lowered his pose, one leg bent forward with the other pulled back, he also raised his arms to his chest whilst gazing onward. Fists before his face. "Come at me, world."

Sly took in a long deep breath, before suddenly rushing forward into the forest. One after the other, his feet pushed him forth at high speed, faster than he had ever ran before he lost his leg. The cold wind bursting past his face, the snow crunching beneath his feat before rising up behind him, the mild straining of his legs and arms as he pushed them to their limit.
Sly ran, dashing through the vast but rather open forest. Keeping his breathing steady, he’d speed up on clear straight shots forward and instead of slowing down on a turn, Sly would leap and land into a tree’s bark. Using one leg and a hand, he’d catch himself on the bark before pushing away and into the direction he’d continue onto.
Keeping this up for well over an hour, Sly changed it up half-way to avoiding too open spaces, allowing him to jump off trees more often until he could do so without using either hand and landing back with as little time as possible before he was ready to move on again.
Releasing a long breath, Sly paused when he felt he had gotten the gist of the movement, “I’m better built than in reality, but somehow lighter, definitely a more athletic build and something is off about this world’s gravity setting. Or, you know, how they usually explain it. It’s magic.” He laughed to himself, before setting his sight on where he had ended up roaming to.
Before him lay the entrance to some sort of mining operation, a single guard standing before three cave entrances with mine-carts and mining equipment laying in open crates and barrels.
No one else seemed to be nearby, and as Sly glanced up at the sky he noticed that it was getting a bit late.

“Hm, one guard, I could take his equipment but…Do I wanna get bad rep so early?” Sly wondered.
“Oi! Halt you, what you doing here?” When suddenly the guard noticed him, and began approaching.
“Try your luck buddy.” Sly whispered to himself as he turned to the man, wearing a medium tier of armour with mainly chain chest and pants along some plates on the shins, shoulders, sides and chest. He also wore a leather padded helmet and fur underneath his chain set, wielding a shortsword at his side but holding a long-tipped spear in his hands.
Keeping his distance according to his wielded weapon, the guard’s suspicious eyes landed on Sly. “What the hell are you doing here so late, so far off either town?” He asked.
“A bit lost I’d say, which direction would be the nearest of the two?” Sly asked back.
Narrowing his eyes further, the guard did not take them off Sly as he pointed a direction. “Elai is that way.”
“Elai?” Sly mused back.
“Elven, as in i,l, pause and e in common written.” The guard explained.
A studied guard, not bad for a winter land kingdom, they’re usually barbarians.
Sly thought, “Well apologies for wasting your time good sir, I’ll just be on my wa-”
“Halt, I said.” The guard warned, lowering his spear one-handed into Sly’s way.
Sly sighed, “Oh, oh now you’re just making it too easy.”
“Say again?” The guard asked, his expression warping to confusion but remaining alert.
“Pole-arms, you just don’t do this with them.” Sly mused, as he suddenly grabbed hold of the weapon’s long shaft.
The guard tried to pull back but, he simply could not overpower Sly’s grip as he grinned widely.
Releasing the spear, the guard took a step back and unsheathed his sword. “Drop the weapon.”
Sly chuckled, “Why? You just gave me the upper hand, and I was going to let it go, you know, I was. I really was. But who can say no to free equipment, so easily gained.” Turning to face the guard fully once more, Sly took a few moments to wave the spear about.
Starting out with slow movements, turning his body in smooth motions and the spear with, “Those martial classes where, painful, but now? Useful.” He mused, as suddenly he paused.
Knowledge rushed into his mind, leaving him briefly stunned, he felt literal information pouring into his brain. A feeling so overwhelming he stepped back groaning from some pain that came after.
[Pole-weapon Mastery] [Level 1] Unlocked.
Breathing heavily and looking entirely confused, the guard took his opening and rushed in. Hand first to try and grab the spear back from him with his short-sword pointed and following.
But then he felt his feet being swept out from right underneath him.
As he fell, the guard glanced Sly’s expression, no more did this stranger smile.
A dreadfully cold gaze glared down at him as he fell, the moment seeming to slow as fear filled the guard from the sight of this purple long haired man with dark purple wolven ears and tail. A beastman with ferocious violet eyes glaring raw wrath down upon him even after his back met snow then ground.
Quickly the guard reached for his dropped short sword.
“So, you have chosen, death.” Sly mused, his spear striking down with a serpent’s flash of speed, the iron point digging itself into the man’s throat and impaling him back down into the snow.
Sly held on as the man choked and spazzed, not having had enough strength behind the attack to break bone, he held the man down as his lungs filled with the same blood that poured out of his shuddering lips.

They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean.
