《No Strings Attached [Rewritten]》Ch 7: This was training?

This is an odd prediciment I find myself in. I usually wake up with my eyes facing towards the ceiling, but it's still dark. Shouldn't be morning already, so why can't I see anything. Now that I think about it, I can't breathe that well either. I try to bring my hands up but they are stuck by some force, but at least my legs are free to move. My feet may be trapped under something but still. I shift my left leg a bit but then it bumped into something squishy.
"*Moan*" A sound is ontop of me. Was that a moan, the thing on top of me can talk? Wait, why haven't been trying to figure out whats on top of me, I'm such a idiotic genius. Using the power of skin contact, I determine the thing ontop of me is a person, although I don't know who is on top of me. It would be easier to determine, but the fabric the person is wearing is hard to pinpoint. It feels like a dress of some sorts so it must be a girl, not to be sexist or anything. After going through the list of females I know, I determine that Christina is on top of me. She probably landed on top of me while I was sleeping which would make since. It would be useless to try to wake her up, and I can't even carry her so I would have to wait for her to wake up naturally to escape.
I struggle a bit, but then she squeezes me harder into something. It's getting harder to breathe with each passing minute. I'm afraid that if this continues, I wiil die from oxygen derpivation. I can finally feel my own neck being choked as she squuezes me. So is this how I die again, being squised bewtween a bed and Christina. I would've expected me dying from me trying to fight a bird or something when I eventually leave the castle. My eyes start to fade and I see the light approach me, moving closer to take me away. But that ended as soon as Christina finally wakes up. Caught by suprise, she moves my head back a bit to let me breathe. She panics at she make sure I am okay, but all I could see was her chest. Was I really going to die from getting pressed against a chest I wonder to myself.
To apologize for almost killing me, she promises to make training a little less harder on me. I don't know how how much that will affect training, but it's probably worth it to not go through those embarrising interactions. She gets out of bed and changes into her maid uniform, wait she was already wearing it. Didn't she change it last night, was she just out of clothes or something? She then drags me out of bed and out to the hallway. I was getting weird looks from the guards in front of the bathroom, but a quick glare from Christina made them back off. What the hell was wrong with the picture here, it was maybe the fact that Christina was dragging me and not the usual princess carry. As usual, she places me in the large bath, I swim up since it's very deep suprisingly.
My spider legs the latch on to the edges of the bath since apparently they don't abide by the laws of stats. Christina then gets an order to help train some guards and excuses herself from the bathroom. It was quite peaceful her, no one to wash my back, no guard to pity me, it was great. I then start hear loud footsteps come into the bathroom. I look over my shoulder and I see Satan entering the bathroom room, talking with some of the guards in hear. I try my best to eavesdrop on their conversation, or at least within the bath of course. The bath was quite warm, like a sauna. They then start talking loud enough for me to hear.

"So what are we going to do with them?" A guard says.
"What we do with most low-ranks here. Punish them." Satan says.
"Community service or The Wilderness?"
"Probably community service, if they accept the conditions then The Wilderness." What's the wilderness? I assume just sending them out to the wilderness with no gear, but that wouldn't be that harsh. From what I gather, Satan is very nice to demons and is the opposite of what humans think of him. By the looks of it, he is a minotaur from greek mythology with giant horns bigger than most bulls, makes you wonder how he gets through these doors. Should I be worried about those guys in the dungeon, I assume they have the skills and titles to survive. Before I can exit the bath, Satan enters in causing some water to splash out. Welp, now is a good time than never to ask him.
"Um, sir may I ask a question?" I don't usually like lowering my self, but I have a feeling this guy will murder me if I don't.
"Hm," he says while looking around, "Oh, it's you, the fucking useless hero." he looks to the side. "Well, ask away."
"Why did you interfere with the summoning process, I was going to be summoned as a Hero for the humans."
"The answer for that is very simple low-rank," Did he just call me low-rank again? "Our economy is hurting because of those fucking Hero of Lights always pilliaging our cities, and burning our paper money just because they think it's useless. Let's not forget about the amount of funds that go in to support a war."
"You use paper bills? I'm guessing this was inspired by a hero or something."
"Your right, she was on of the low-rankers that taught us a bit of your world. The other captured heroes taught us efficient architechture, weapons of mass destruction and some of your world's history like world wars, invasions, etc." What people said about this guy were right, he really is nicer than what the low-ran- I mean humans make him out to be. I was about to ask another question until Christina came back. I look back at Satan but he gave me a look of 'I can't help you', so I was carried out of the bath, and started to get washed. At least it wasn't as bad as yesterdays washing where it took so long for her to stop washing me.
She changes me into different clothes again. They feel a bit tighter this time, mostly around the waist, and these pants are like skinny jeans. I look at Satan and he is on the edge of laughing, is there something wrong with my clothes. I am then carried outside to the training grounds where I am thrown once again to the ground. Instead of being filled with guards, it's very barren with no one in sight. She hands me the kunai I used yester day, but since I can't hold it, the spider legs carried it for me.
"Do what you did yesterday with the kunai."
"You mean controlling it? I wasn't even the one who controlled them, it was all the spider legs." She gives me a look as if she doesn't care. I sigh and try my best to remember what I did yesterday. I remember and put my spit on the handle of the kunai, it looks so sticky despite only being spit. Then two skill windows popped up when this happened.

[Order]
You can give an inanimate object orders as long as there is a connection between you and the object. Warning: If used on a sentient object, will create mental damage to you and the being.
What does that mean? What ever, I have a skill actually useful battle skill. I can be like that superhero spiderman. His movies were great to watch when I went with Stephanie, Ani and Olivia. They were always bickering about who would sit next to me, but it was funny to see them fight. I miss them now that I think about it, are they crying for me or have they moved on? Do they even know I was gone, or that I died. All these minor questions make me curious and yet sad to think about. No time to be thinking about now, that's my dead best where I ... was succesful and had all I want. Where I had power and didn't have to work for it. I really do miss my old world, don't I.
Before I could start crying, Christina starts to rush me with random projectiles. There were stuff like shurikens, fireballs, wind blades, even daggers. I was bareley able to dodge the daggers but the fireballs burned some of my clothes, or they would if these clothes weren't somehow flame retardent. If I would have to guess, probably some sort of flame enchantment. They probably have enchantments in this world, unless they are replace by something else. I try to give the order to block the projectiles to the kunai, and it worked well. I used my legs to try and get the daggers and other stuff, and used my spit to create a connection. By now I have 10 daggers, 2 great swords, 4 arrows and of course the 1 kunai. To bad the connections keep getting severed.
It's getting real serious over here as the guards come back from wherever they went. They gather around the heated battle between Christina and I, probably rooting for Christina to win. It's getting harder to mantain the connections and my mouth is running out of spit. I have to resort to sweat soon to keep this up. Christina is now starting to get up close trying to get some melee attacks in, and I don't have any weapons for melee range, without connections at least. I then start thinking really hard on how to stop this from happening. Fuck, if only I read 'Battle Tatics' instead of 'Language of the world', I don't think speaking beastmen language can help me in this situation.
All plans always lead to me equiping a weapon of some sort, but there's no weapon I can equip on the battlefield that aren't on my legs. Why can't I just have a single stat point in something then I wouldn't be complaining. It would be so much easier just to be able to throw all these weapons... I can I FUCKING forgot. I order the weapons to home in on Christina but they were all shot down by wind blades. That plan went to shit real quick, I thought I could stall a bit but I didn't expect it to end that quick.
"Is that all you got." She says with a smirk.
"Who knows, I might have a secret skill up my sleeve."
"Unless you could block me from using [Identify], I don't think you can hide anything from me." She licks her lips.
"Then how do you know I can't see all your skills?"
"You and everyone here knows you can't learn [Identify]."
"Good point, but you forgot one thing." My spider legs move slowly towards the kunai.
"You mean that arachne leg?" She throws a quick glare at it at it turns to stone, she wasn't half medusa for nothing. Then in a blink of an eye, she grabs my arm and flips me over. I land on my back as she quickly mounts me. I've officially lost this battle with no escape, this sort of reminds me of what happened this morning except I can see. Her movements were to advance for me to fight back, this was a one sided fight. She was still wearing her maid uniform that was unscathed through the entire battle, but then again I was mostly blocking. I wonder how flexible she would be if she didn't wear a maid uniform.
I try getting up but she still has me pinned down, when will she let go. She lifts her right hand and puts a finger up to my face, ok never mind letting go, what the fuck will she do. Before I can blink, she flicks my head and says the following words after.
"I win, good try though." She says smuggly. She brings me to my feet and dust off my clothes. All the guards start to clap, while some were laughing, they weren't suprised I lost apparently. Now that I think about it, is Christina just a maid, or is she also a knight. She is probably both now that I think about it. She commands guards efficiently without batting an eye whil maintaining the castle, she probably does at least if everyone has a high regard for her, while also fearing her.
"Enough battling right now, call Iro her so you can study."
"Excuse me, can't I have time to breathe a bit?"
"Call her now, or I will force you."
"O-ok 'Open inventory'." I feel like I don't want to know what she'll do to me, nor do I want to ask.
Iro appears in front of me while looking a bit tired. Slime can feel tired, I would have to ask later but for now I reach for the books. I would if she didn't step back. I walk towards her but then she takes a step back again, or whatever you call slime movement. She keeps moving back and dodging my grabs as I gave chase to her. Is she training me to now or is the deal she theoretically made with Christina off now. Soon after it became a game of cat and mouse with me being the cat.
My legs are starting to give out until I get a great idea. I lunge towards Iro and switch to the arachne legs, in a rhinoceros beetle like postion. It was quite efficient movement, except for the fact my arms can't move that much. I then hear 2 dings happen at once, probably an [Ego] boost.

New skill unlocked
[Movement type: Beetle]
Gain .75% movement speed while using this movement. Can't use arms while using this movement. Every level gets you +.75% movement speed.
Thats stronger than what I expected it to be. Why am I gaining so many skills today, has God finally stopped fucking with me. My body feels lighter, and the wind against my face pass by so quickly as I catch up to that fucking bitch called Iro. I move in as I near her, and I reach out my ar- fuck, I forgot that can't move them. How am I going to catch her if I can't actually grab her. Well, if i can use my legs for movement then why can't I use it for capture.
I move my front legs into a pincer like formation, if I had a third front leg, then I would totally use to complete copy the rhinoceros beetle design. I prepare for capture as I get close in on Iro, widening the pincers.
"What the heck are you doing?!" she says to me. I then joke around for bit, trying to copy those innacurate war movies.
"Alpha to Bravo, Alpha to Bravo, preparing for extraction of target codenamed 'Iro'."
"Fallback, enemy is smarter than you think." She says back. I charge in towards her, but she then hops over me, causing her to land on my body. She then started to melt over me, causing my legs to stiffen up and stopping completly in my tracks. Shit, I don't have the strength to carry her. I collapse onto the ground causing me to be pinned. I didn't notice, but we are in the libary right now, time sure flies by quickly.
We stay there for a couple of minutes until Christina enters the room. She reaches inside of Iro and grabs all the books that I need to read. Iro lifts me up into a chair, then uses her body to trap my legs into the chair. It looks like I am force to study aren't I, not like I was going to try and escape. Christina first hands me 'History at its finest', though I am reluctant to read it because of the title. Iro then tightens up around my leg, looks like I have no choice now doesn't it.
I open the book and start reading the first arc, 'The discovery of magic'. This is going to a longer book than 'Language of the world', I have a hunch.
I am to lazy to write the entire book here, so here is a brief summary of it in the journal. If you want to know the entire book, then just say it in the comments or something.
Spoiler: Brief summary The discovery of magic was discovered by a great magus who goes by the name Pierce Palsu. He was given this blessing by our mighty god Mu. His powers caused many disagreements between him and the other races who were also granted this power. The Beastmen are a race that excel in body strengthining magic and defense magic. They vary between animals and features, as such there is a hierarchy of power in place. Some have the full looks of their animal dna while others contain only parts like ears or tails. The highest on the hierarchy are the dragons. Like the rest of their race, they vary in species and such, they're a lot of assasination for power and control. During their wars with the other humans due to the discovery of magic, they had breeding seasons in order to expand their armies to solidify their palce to become the ultimate race, but this still carries into the more recent years. The next race is the Vampires. They excel in mana capacity and blood magic, which is a taboo magic in human places. They have pointy teeth which allow them to bite into any race, sucking both blood and mana from the victim. Instead of building up armies, they built infiltration and spy units to take down huge kingdoms such as the long forgotten Solar race. The Solar race is a dead race that excel in light magic and flame magic. Not much is known about them other than their unqiue spell [Solar Flare] which emblazes their body in an intense light and fire. They have a sun shaped pupil and a moon shaped pupil, which allows you to easily identify them. The next race is the Merfolk/Seafolk. One species specialize in water magic and body strengthening while another species specialize in water magic and wind magic. One species have webbed foot which allows them to walk on land while one species has a tail. No one knows which species specialize in which, we also don't know how wind magic helps when they are in water. Then we have the Technians. They specialize in only electric magic, but they make up for it in their advance technology. A very well known achievement is they made a communication network which placed them 2nd in the strongest race. Whenever they use magic, circuit like structures appear on their bodies revealing mana flow and allowing electricity to flow through them. Another race is the Humans. They are the start of all races, and the strongest. They specialize in all magic, but usually have weak mana capacity. They've been in a constant war between the demons. The final race is the Demons. Demons vary in different species and looks. They are ruled by one demon named Satan. Like humans, they specialize in all magic, and in taboo magic such as void and blood. So who is the supieror race of them all, Humans of course with the help of God by giving them heroes with unique magic.
1 book later
That was fucking longer than the language book, it's almost night time and I am hungry as fuck. Christina is still awake, and Iro is still holding me down to the chair.
"Christina, can we please complete this tommorow, I am hungry and tired. Can't I just eat and go to bed?"
"No sir, you have to read all these books for the test I plan on giving you next week." She then slides me another book called 'History and Races'.
"Wait a minute, this is the same book I just read basically."
"Your right and wrong. This one includes an extra race that the other one doesn't cover."
"Really?" I flip through the book and there it was, the Fairies. They specialize in nature and healing magic, they are the perfect support race. They weren't discovered until 2 decades after the huge war, but there they were. They are small tricksters known also for their great mana regen. If in a place with high concentration of mana, they grow in size faster. Then, how do their wings carry them, it should be aerodynamically impossible with their weight and size. I can understand if that if they are small but huge, I refuse to believe that its just believing.
I review all the races and slide the book back to Christina, where she then gave me 'Battle Tatics'. All of it were pictures which, even though I prefer advance books, this was a breather to me. The first page included the basics like breathing techniques and simple strikes. The second page included ways to turn a fight into your favor. Third page showed how to properly fight against groups. I keep reading on and the techniques are becoming pretty advance. One of the tatics were to sweep the enemy, grab them by the feet and flip them.I breezed through the entire book, mentally taking notes of tatics that would be useful in the future. Then a skill window pops up.
Title earned
[Tatician]
Plans are easier to make before or during battle.
For a title, doesn't this seem pretty plain. [Superiority Complex] seems better than this, and it's decreasing my stats right now. I pass her back the book and she slides me 'Mathmatics", but I slide back saying I already know my stuff about the topic. She believes me and slides me the final book 'Sayrngroth's Almanac'. I open the book then a error message pop's up.
Error
Book is deemed not useful to you by God
"Christina, God is not allowing me to read this." I whine.
"Hm, I guess I will just skip that on the test. Congratulations, you have completed 1 of the many trainings we will give you."
"Wait this is just the first?"
"Yes." She says bluntly. I then start crying on the spot until I fell asleep.

The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.
