[New message from Proto]
"Oh, Drayton's bot messaged. Wonder what's wrong." Drayton's brother, Grant was on the way to a meeting for his company when he had received Proto's message
< Proto ...
Drayton has been kidnapped by rebels. He was trying to help Boss Everts of Techo World with something >
"What! Driver take me to the Techo World now!" Grant was protective of his brother, he had abandoned him for all these years, he wanted to be the big brother that Drayton could always go to for help. Now his younger brother had been kidnapped by a bunch of rebels?
"Mr. Grant take a look at this." Grant's secretary showed him a video of a mecha breaking into the main building of Techo World, just like Proto had said.
"Tell the board I have some problems to settle."
"Aha this is going to be bumpy!" The mysterious man that took Proto and Drayton was rushing further into the city, Proto was administering first-aid to Drayton since there were cuts all over his body from the debris.
"Okay, here we... GO!" The mecha started to shake, a giant portal was open in front of them leading to the world beyond the rift. Proto sent out the location of where the portal had been to Grant before they had went in.
[Do not worry master, I will protect you]
The mecha had went through the portal and shook off the police, it started to zoom into a mountain range.
"....you sure its inside?..."
"Yeah....of course..."
"...underestimate.....me?"
I could hear voices, my body felt numb. I could remember the excruciating pain from the injection. I could hear a continous ringing in my head, I felt so dizzy.
"Oi! Oi! Wake up!" I was drenched in water by some mysterious group of people.
"Where am I?" I was surrounded by people, I saw Proto shutted down in a corner.
"Aha, you're finally awake! Good Good." A woman stared right into my eyes, observing me as if I was some sort of alien. I was restrained to a metal chair, I tried to break free but the metal shackles was more tougher than expected.
"You're in the Atsugama Rebel base kiddo, no way you can escape here." A scary man smoking a cigar glared right at me.

"Hey Guppo, he's going to get scared if you glare at him like that!" I was already scared, I did not have any means of escape. Proto was down so he could not send our location to brother.
"Think! Think! Think! What do I do maybe they'll release me i'll make a run for it. No I might get killed, I need to survive no matter what I do." I was panicking, I had prepared my physical body but my mind was not ready for this kind of situation. Suddenly, I heard ringing but none of the people seemed to notice it. It was so annoying, it would not go away.
Welcome ??? to Artificial System. You have received an acheivement!
"What is this?" I saw a panel floating right in front of my eyes. I then remembered what Boss Everts asked me to do, I helped with the first artificial system in the world.
You received the acheivement [The First]
I could use the 'system'. The one thing i've always wanted was finally here, I have the gift of the system!
"Oho, it seems that the kid won't talk soon so might as well just show him around first." A man in a cloak came out from the shadows.
"You're right, he must be shocked to be here. We still don't even know if he has it or not." My shackles opened, I was set free.
"Hey Kid, come with me." The man in the cloak opened a door to the outside. I had no choice since I sensed all the powerful auras of everyone in the room. I followed the man in the cloak outside to see a camp, people were huddling over fires. They were badly injured, there were beastmen and all kind of races here.
"This is what the Argonauts do, no respect to this world. Treating the inhabitants of this world like shit." The man had a digusted look in his face. As far as I knew, this was not earth. It was the world beyond the rift, these rebels were the Atsugama rebels who fight Argonauts and cause trouble for earth.
"Kid, you won't be escaping anytime soon so might as well join our cause." The man put me where I was before with Proto.
"Proto sent command [Location to Grant]" Proto was back online it seemed that he had shut himself off to preserve his energy. Proto did not look like he was damaged or toyed in any way. The rebels did not plant any secret devices on him either, I couldn't send my location to brother since there were no satilites. I heard another ding in my head.

Hello! Would you like to view the shop?
"I guess Boss Everts wasn't lying about everything." I could use a shop that was unique only to me since I had the artificial system.
System will now adapt to user's choice of weapons, armour and mindset. Configurating now...
"Adapt?" I was curious what this artificial system would do.
Error, Could not read player's level.
"What?" It was the first artificial system made by humans, of course it would have imprerfections.
Reverting player to level 1
"Level 1, I start all the way there?" Boss Everts said my physical body could match with a level 10 so why?
"This is my status panel then."
Level: 1 Class: None Vitality: 30 Strength: 33 Agilitty: 32 Defense: 31 Magic: 0 Skills: None
"Well its better than nothing, my stats seem fairly higher than most. Let's use the shop then." I had an inventory of 30 item slots to hold anything I wanted.
"I can buy guns here?" I looked at my shop panel, I could get food, clothes and weapons as long as I had coins. The new system would award me gold coins for monsters or other users of the system was killed by me.
Awarded 10 000 gold coins for newcomer
"Ha Ha! This will be good." I had bought a simple magic pistol that costed 3000 gold and could kill low-leveled monsters or people. For some reason, my nunchuncks were already in the pocket inventory.
"Hey maggot you're lunch is here." One of the men guarding me came to give me my lunch. I had Proto to scan the surrounding area, there were only 3 guards. Judging from how many people are guarding me, they do not know the full abilities of the artificial system.
"Hey look over here." I pointed at the guard with my gun then shot, I had a surpressor so the other two guards only heard the thump of the dead body.
"Hey what ha-" I killed the remaining two, I stood there looking at the people I just killed. They probably had families or children and I just killed them.
You gained 270 Exp! You gained a level! You gained a level!
"Hm, so I got a few levels." I needed to do what I needed to survive from now on. I heard another ding in my head.
Emergency Quest: Escape Atsugama! Reward: 20 Stat points, 50 000 gold coins and Mysterious Chest
"Its like the system knows what i'm doing." I had to get out of here quick, Proto had scanned the are once again. The coast was clear but the only way out was the two entrances which was not going to work for me, so I had a plan. I used the remaining gold to buy explosive C4, I planted it where the wall seemed weakest.
"Proto [Set command/C4]" I had Proto set off the C4 remotely. The explosion was a sight to see, I had never done this before so it was exciting.
"Proto [Set command/Follow Drayton]" The area was now on full alert, the alarm sounded when the C4 exploded. Proto and I made a run for it, the area was covered with mountains so I knew it was going to be harder to get away.
[Mr.Drayton I sense vehicles coming in]
I heard the engine of multiple vehicles, they were pursuing us!
"Fuck, what do we do?" A motorcycle sped right in front of us.
[Please stop you won't be able to escape]
One of the people in the Atsugama was trying to reach for me, I did not want that to happen so I punched him off the bike and took the motorcycle.
"Ha Ha, I never felt so alive!" It was so exciting having the system and doing all of this, I wanted to get out of here and experience how an Argonaut does things. I sped up the motorcycle and eventually outmaneuver the rebels.
[Mr.Drayton there seems to be no more hostiles pursuing us but it would be wise to keep going to a town or so]
I heard the beep of the system.
Emergency Quest: Escape Atsugama completed! Rewards to be sent now
"So I get status points from leveling up and completing the quest, I also get gold but what's inside this mysterious chest."
"This is!" I looked at amasement from what I had recieved.

The Twelve
In a world marred by the supernatural, Japan suffers from its own fair share of evil and demonic disasters, with generations of shamans known as Onmyoji protecting their homeland from these forces of evil. Capable of wielding magic and using spirits of their own, these shamans were not only skilled in battle, but also divination. However, they were unable to correctly predict Japan's loss in World War Two, and suffered the punishments that followed. Persecuted and torn apart by infighting, the Onmyoji reunited under the banner of the Tsuchimikado clan, descendants of Abe no Seimei, one of the greatest Onmyoji to ever live. The Onmyoji began to rebuild and to regrow. Ren is the sole heir to the Tsuchimikado family, but has been unable to practice Onmyodo ever since his birth, even though he possesses the greatest ability in the family. But when disaster befalls his family, Ren has nobody to turn to, and no idea how to use his powers. As he journeys to escape the same fate his family faced and attempts to learn how to use his powers, there is only one question on his mind; as the Tsuchimikado heir, how can he save the Onmyoji... from themselves? ---------------------------------------------- note from author: I'm writing this based loosely on the very real theories of Onmyodo, and so my writing may not be a truthful or accurate depiction of Onmyodo or other related areas, such as religion, for instance. That is why, while depicted in the real world, events that happen may seem unrealistic and it may be easier to imagine it as a parallel universe that is the same as ours, but with slight differences so that my possible errors will be easier to overlook. Sorry, and thanks!

A Man and His Greatsword
Michael Adkins is a unique 28-year-old man. Born with above average strength and emerald green eyes, he always wanted to live in a fantasy world. He was very much into fantasy light novels, manga, and anime, especially a certain one that involves a black armored man with a large greatsword. Michael always dreamed of going on an adventure in a fantasy world. On a whim, Michael is summoned by the god of Alorah, one of the fantasy worlds he had always read about! Alorah's God, Eden, gives Michael a choice of three bonuses and a custom class to take with him into Alorah. This is the start of Michael's fantasy adventures. P.S. This is my first novel, I'm writing this since there were little novels I've found with a main character that wields a greatsword. Don't expect anything good. There will be a lot of mistakes, so please help me with that! P.P.S The later chapters will (hopefully) be much less cringy than the early ones. Please give it a shot!
