Chapter 14 Waking Up At Home?
[ZZZzzzzz!] A new morning came about after Selene tumultuous ordeal yesterday. She spent the night sleeping at the Fahtier rebels’ hideout in Liberal Vista only to find herself waking up in a very familiar environment.
“Erm.” Selene rolled around in bed as her consciousness slowly came awake. “Hm…” While her eyes were opening, she felt the softness, moreover, the distinctive scent of her covers. This prompted her to shot open her eyes and sat properly in bed.
[Glance! Glance!] Selene was taken aback by the exact replica of her room back home. After getting up and searching the drawers she found out that her sexy garments were there. “How did these get here? Am I really back home?”
To confirm her suspicion, Selene ran to the window and took a gander below. “That’s…” she was dumbfounded to recognize that her identical back yard was there. “This is my home. But how did get here? Did those rebels bring me back overnight?” [Thud!] Selene accidentally hit over a picture frame due to her carelessness.
“Who’s there?” [Boom! Boom!]
While she was perusing her thoughts, Selene heard a sudden sonorous voice bashing against her eardrums and crouched down in fright. “Huh? Was that dad?” she continued to listen to noises coming from outside her room.
“Are you sure there is a burglar in our daughter’s room?” A middle-aged Latino woman asked her male companion who had a steel bat in his grasp.
“Of course I’m sure, woman! I heard some footsteps moving around inside. Stand back while I go investigate…? [Creek!] The door opened before the middle-aged man could turn the nob. The well-acquainted figure that bombarded his vision made the old man stumbled backwards as he blurted out: “Baby girl!”

“Dad!” [Whoosh!] Selene rushed into her father’s grasps before he could fully regain his footing. [Sob! Sob!] She began unloading tears of joy on his broad shoulders. “Dad, I’m so glad you guys are doing okay.”
“Baby girl, is this really you? Let me get a good look at you.” The middle-aged man grabbed his daughter’s shoulders and pushed her at arm’s length so that he could properly analyse her appearance. “My baby girl it really is you!” her father also fell in tears after confirming his daughter’s return. He embraced her roughly again by pressing her mushy face into his chest.
“Selene?” The concerned woman who was behind her husband came forward at that moment to confirm with her own eyes if her little girl had indeed returned. Unlike her father, Selene’s mother wasn’t happy to lay eyes on her. Instead of a warm welcome, she lashed her violent tongue at her youngest daughter.
“Young lady! How dare you set foot back into this house after all the trouble you’ve stirred up for us? And what’s this I’m hearing about you joining a terrorist organization? Do you have any idea how embarrassed I am to call you my daughter?”
Hearing her mother’s complaints, Selene withdrew from her father’s embrace and stared at her woefully. “Mother I… It was all a big misunderstanding.”
“Don’t lie to me, you ungrateful wretch! It’s been a long time since I’ve discipline you hasn’t it? Do you think you can talk back to me now that you’ve grown some pubic hair on your front? Watch how I tidy up your foul mouth today!” [Whoosh!] The angry mother straightened her palm, getting ready to abuse her daughter's face. However, the father intervened and held back his wife’s hand.

“Woman! What do you think you are doing to our daughter? Behave yourself. Can’t you just be happy that she has returned to us in one peace?”
“Happy? Humph!” Mrs Gomez flashed away her husband grasp from her hand then slapped her daughter with her furious eyes. “So you didn’t fart in public and disgraced our family name? Was the media spreading false news just to slander you, huh? Answer my question!” Mrs Gomez voice reverberated throughout the corners of the house. If the neighbours weren’t still asleep they would have heard her cantankerous mouth.
“Mom it’s nothing like how the news portrayed it.” Selene stared back at her mother and spoke her mind.
“Oh, I’m dying to hear your side of the story. Go ahead, confess.”
Selene’s father had to intervene again to prevent his wife’s pressure from rising. “Isabel, ease up a bit, will you. Our daughter just got back home.” After quieting down his talkative woman, Mr Gomez motioned towards his daughter’s room while asking her. “By the way, baby girl. How did you get inside the house without us being aware? Don’t tell me you’ve been hiding out in here since yesterday?”
“It’s kind of difficult for me to explain. I am also unaware of how I made it back home safely. But I’m glad to be back home again.”
Seeing her disgusting daughter’s smile, Isabel Gomez whipped out her ranting tongue again. “Don’t feel too comfortable just yet, young lady. The authorities are still searching all over the place for you and I have no intention of harbouring a fugitive under my roof. When the FPD officer stops by later, you better explain your situation clearly and make sure you convey to them that we had no involvement in aiding your escape.”
“Alright, mama. I promise to take full responsibility for the troubled that I’ve caused.”
“Are you sure, baby girl?” Mr Gomez observed his daughters reaction. “I still have some connections in the justice department. I might not be able to cover up your crime since it has already gone public but I can mitigate the severity of the punishment you will face.”
“I appreciate the help, dad. Excuse me.” Selene started alighting the stairs. “I’m going out back to check up on Jackal. How has he been since I was away.”
“That foul pet stays just like its owner! I can’t wait to get rid of the damn thing. Humph!” Isabel Gomez scoffed insults at her daughter then flashed her sleeping robe and walked away.
“Don’t mind her rude attitude, baby girl. I’ll go calm her down. You go look after your pet.”
“Thanks, dad.” Selene watched her father followed behind her mother inside their bedroom. “Is there ever a day when that woman doesn’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Geez, she’s so infuriating. I wonder how dad puts up with her.”
[Chep! Chep!]
There was a fancy pet house established in the back yard. This pet house was the living quarters of Selene’s trusted animal. Unlike most pet houses, this one was built on a century-old tree which sprouted many branches. The pet house had everything inside that Selene’s pet needed to live comfortable. There was a fancy wash area, an automatic feeding apparatus, cosy cushions sprawled about on the veneer floor, moreover, there was a 44-inch flat-screen TV situated at a gaming area. Makes you wonder what sort of extravagant pet was living there.

Which is the real world? Is he in a game? A simulation? And who actually is his online friend Barry. Inspired greatly by the MUDs of the 90s, many of the aspects will be familiar to those who experienced the joys of text adventures, MUSHs, MURPEs, MUDs, modern MMORPGs or just some good old fashioned cybering with a 17/f/Cali who was anything but. This humorous, harem LitRPG story is the first story by experienced author Jamie Haremie under this pen name. Grey [HIATUS]
I was originally fueled by anger and disdain to write this and looking back, most of what I wrote for this story was unplanned and a bit trashy. I kinda stopped having ideas for this, so I stopped in the end. If you're looking at this right now, you probably shouldn't read this because it's only 12 crappy chapters in and yeah... Sorry to the people who might've liked this. (Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now, I have other plans) Grey, a prince, is unsure about what to do when he starts running away from an enemy beast tamer. He's unsure on what to do now that his father, the king, is dead. In the forest alone, he'll discover a small companion and a rogue. Together will they figure a way to take back Grey's kingdom? Or will they just die in vain? Let's be honest here, most of you probably like the fox aspect of the story the most. (BTW the cover design is made by me. Terrible, I know) I'm kind of done with writing bs descriptions that I might change in the future, plus I'm not very good with being thoughtful with quotes and stuff like that. I just write what pops into my mind, which is usually stupid things. So the description may or may not be accurate so I've changed it to being very vague.
