Chapter 13 Pomelo Epoch
[Wuzuu! Wuzu! Wuzuu!] The approaching aircraft Selene spotted climbing the lofty hill crossed into the mansion’s airspace without as much as a hitch. The many heavily armed guards positioned on the encircling rampart were informed in advance of the base leader’s return, thus they let her aircraft through without any delays.
[Thud!] The lavish aircraft touched down safely on a helipad which was located on the rooftop adjacent to the one Selene was looking out on.
“Hm. Isn’t that…?” Looking over there, Selene noticed that many men in black were crowding the rooftop. Among them, she spotted Babe heading the entourage. “The person inside must the leader I overheard them talking about. I wonder what type a person they might be.”
[Thum!] As soon as Selene thought about their leader’s identity, the side door belonging to the aircraft opened up. Babe stepped forward to offer assistance to the person stepping out of the aircraft. [Thud! Thud!]
“Welcome back leader!” Babe along with the others present gave their leader a warm welcome.
“I hope you people didn’t cause a lot of trouble while I was away.” The person that spoke just now had a mature quality to her voice. A middle-aged woman donned in formal apparels alighted the aircraft with a sovereign swagger to her aura. Some male guards came out behind her and helped with her luggage. This beautifully aged leaf was an outstanding figure of Liberal Vista, moreover, she was highly respected and adored by her peers. The most eye-catching part of her was the juicy roundness of her tight buttocks that fully filled out the sucking side-slit skirt she had on.
“Huh? That woman?” Selene squinted her eyes to get a better look at the woman who was chatting to the others on the rooftop under the dim lighting. “Why do I feel as if I’ve seen her somewhere before?” Though she couldn’t hear what they were talking about, Selene reckoned it was something of great importance. Continuing her observation, she recognized Babe whispering something into the woman’s ear while pointing over to where she was.
“Hm? Why is she pointing over here?” [Turn!] Selene was startled when she suddenly locked eyes with the mysterious middle-aged woman.
“Is that her over by the roof?” The mysterious woman asked Babe who answered:
“Yes, boss. She’s the one I brought over today. I think she might be a great addition to our team. However...”

“Ohh, I’ll go say hi then.” The woman left some important documents with her subordinates then started walking to the edge of the rooftop.
“Wh-what is that lady doing? Why is she walking to the edge of the balcony?” To Selene’s surprise, she witnessed the middle-aged woman leapt over the balcony and was alerted. “Hey! That’s dangerous! You’re going to fa…” [Whoosh!] “No way!”
Selene was gobsmacked to the point where words could not escape her lips temporary. What brought this on was the utter bewilderment when she thought that the middle-aged woman was going to fall to her doom only to witness her soaring through the air seconds later.
[Swoosh!] Right after leaping over the balcony, the middle-aged woman let a vaporous contagion escaped her rump which took shape in the form of a highbred grapefruit. The grapefruit didn’t remain whole for long. In only a matter of milliseconds after manifestation, it sliced asunder releasing a citric booster which propelled the middle-aged woman all the way up and over to the adjacent rooftop Selene was on.
[Thud! Thud!] Selene fell on her behind the moment the middle-aged woman landed in front of her. ‘A Fahtier? She’s also a Fahtier?’ Selene couldn’t process quickly what she had just witnessed. She stared up at the imposing woman standing before her with her mouth agape. “H-how did you do that?”
“Amazing right? Take my hand, I’ll help you up.” The middle-aged woman offered to help Selene regain her footing. Finished doing so, she introduced herself. “Ms Gomez don’t be startled by my impacting first impression. I’ve been wanting to let loose for a while now. You must be wondering who I am. Allow me to greet you properly. The name is Pomelo Epoch and I’m the head of the Fahtier organisation.”
“P-Pomelo Epoch?” This name seemed to ring a bell in Selene’s memories. After a short while of refreshing her mind, she remembered something related. ‘I knew this woman looked familiar! I’ve seen her before when I was much younger attending one of my father’s gala. I believe I still have that photo of her. Back then, my father mostly associated himself with high-class people so this woman must be very influential. Us meeting like this, is it all a coincidence or was this meticulously planned from a long time ago?’

“My people informed me of your desire of wanting to go home. Is this true?” By the tone of her voice, Pomelo Epoch sounded slightly displeased when she asked this question.
“Ah, yes. I indeed want to return home and clear my name from abuse.” Selene answered quickly. “My parents must be suffering the backlash from what transpired this afternoon. I must go back and make things right.”
“Oh, you do realize that the moment you return to Bay City you will be placed under arrest?”
“I am aware.” Selene replied resolutely. “Even so, I must return and face my judgement to prevent my parents from being slandered by the vicious media any further.”
“Such a filial child, eh? You’re willing to jeopardise your future for the sake of your family.” Pomelo Epoch gave some thought to what Selene said. “Very well. The leaves have to fall off in order for the tree to flourish. I shall make the necessary arrangements for your return. ”
“Really? I can go home?” Selene was excited to hear this, she clasped Pomelo’s arms and offered her sincere gratitude. “Thank you so much.”
“There is no need to be so grateful… Hm?” Pomelo Epoch noticed Pac heading her way from the roof stairway and called him over. “Pac my boy come here.”
“Good evening, boss.” Pac paid his respects by giving a curt nod.
“Come, please show Ms Gomez here to a vacant room downstairs where she can spend the night in comfort and prepare some nightly refreshments for her to snack on.”
“Yes, I shall get right to your request, leader.” Pac said goodbye to the middle-aged woman then vacated the roof with Selene tagging behind him.
Coming down the stairway, Selene glanced at Pac’s wide back and questioned: “Hey, would you happen to know how long your organization have been spying on me?”
“Hm?” Pac glanced behind him suspiciously and said: “What brought that question to light all of a sudden?”
“Well, ah. I kind of remember seeing that middle-aged woman at one of my father’s gala in the past. So I was wondering if…”
“You’re overthinking things.” Pac stated icily before Selene could finish her sentence. “Keep quiet and follow me.” [Thud! Thud!]
‘Keep quiet and follow me. Meh, meh, meh.’ Selene secretly jeered Pac from behind while blowing a raspberry at him. When she saw that he almost caught on to her mockery, she kept silent and followed him.
A short while after venturing through the mansion, they entered a well-decorated hall on the third floor where the vacant rooms were situated. After directing Selene to a room, Pac went away to fetch her nightly refreshments.
[Creek!] The room Selene went in was no doubt fanciful and relaxing. It had its own unique design of furniture’s made out of intricate bamboos and soft covering. There was a welcoming carpet on the floor which had a specially made texture to absorb the dust of soles.
“Hm…” Even Selene who used to fancy things growing up acknowledged the stylish décor of the spacious room. Everything a person needed for a properly functioning home was there. It had its own bathroom, living space, a neat exercise area, also a grill and cooking apparatuses situated in a mini-kitchen on the patio outside.
“This place is really nice.” Selene scoped around the room for a bit to familiarize herself with the layout. Albeit she wouldn’t be staying there for long. Thereafter she had a warm bath then snuggled into bed wearing the cotton muslin dress that was freely provided.
“Oh shoot. I forgot the remote.” She wanted to see what was going on in the recent new, thus she crawled out of bed and went for the remote over by the TV counter. [Knock! Knock!] As the remote entered Selene’s finger, she heard a knock on the door.
“Coming.” She went over and opened the door to discover Pac standing outside with a tray of freshly squeezed beverage and some nightly snacks in his grasp.
“These are for you. Have a nice rest.” After passing the tray over into Selene’s grasp, Pac didn’t linger around for a thank you. He gave Selene the cold shoulder and went on his merry way.
Selene watched his back vanished around the corner. “Geez, that guy is so infuriating.” She closed the door, snuggled back into bed, turned on the TV then transferred all of the nightly refreshments into her stomach as she watched the news and fell asleep.
[ZZzzz!]

The Legend of Ghost
This is a quick novella origin story to one of fan-favorite characters in the ZERO universe, Sam Dobbs, a.k.a. Slade Gardner, a.k.a. the Ghost. I wrote it for current ZERO series fans, after many insistent, fervent, teary-eyed demands. Still, I think it pretty much works as a stand-alone, so I'll post it here. (He gets the name Ghost later, not as part of this story...this is just the why he decided to do what he did, being slightly insane and all.) Lots of easter eggs for current fans. 15k words total, chapters will be approx. 2.5k each. Oh, and if you get turned off by crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials being crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials, this isn't the story for you. ;)
