Chapter 5 Drone Raid!
[Thud! Thud! Thud!] On the ground, a lot of FPD troops were surrounding the exit of Roofers apartment complex. Some were even rushing inside in droves. Among the commanding officers waiting for the criminals on the roof to be apprehended, officer Hizen was there with Cryson, one of his subordinates who he had not too long ago freed from the purple gelatinous adhesive.
“Hm?” Looking above, Hizen noticed an unidentified aircraft descending afield on Nevox building top and thought that it was suspicious. “That aircraft isn’t one of ours, is it? Doesn’t look like a Nevox one either. I don’t see their logo.” as he pondered, Hizen decided to act decisively. He mobilized a small unit to go check out the Nevox building.
[Huff! Huff!] “We made it across.” Selene was disorientated after reaching the top of Roofers apartment complex unscathed. She glanced over the edge, checking the huge distance that they’ve just crossed over. ‘It’s farther than I calculated yet we were still able to make the jump. Are all Fahtier this crazy?’
“Get away from there!” [Whoosh!] The female rebel hurriedly dragged Selene away from the edge of the roof, fearing that the snipers might still be aiming at them from below. “Don’t go near the edges where you are visible. Otherwise, your life will be in danger.”
“Oh, alright.” Selene complied with the rebel’s request. She quickly moved from the edge where she would be visible. At the same time, she heard the female rebel speaking through her earpiece.
“Babe I’ve successfully landed atop the Nevox building. How soon can you get here?”
“We’ll be there as fast as we can. Keep safe until then. Over and out.” Finished communicating with her ally, Babe glanced at Selene. “We’re going to get out of here now.”
“Are we going back down?” Selene asked unsurely while glancing at the roof staircase entrance.
“Yes, we’re going down but we’re not taking the stairs.” Saying this, Babe took out a canister of peach juice from her waist and gulped it down. Drinking this would rejuvenate her depleted flatus.

[Bzuzuzzuzu!] Right after gulping down the canister’s content, Babe heard a familiar noise sounding like a swarm of bees getting closer. “Could those be…?”
[Whoosh!] Seconds later, 3 versatile artillery drones surfaced the rooftop, moreover, they began shooting lethal projectiles. [Bam! Bam! Bam!]
“Run!” Babe grabbed Selene’s arm and pulled her away from the targeted trajectory of the artillery drones. “Those damn fart polices are getting on my last nerve! Get ready to jump!”
[Whoosh!] The female criminals leapt off the extremely tall building together. There was another complex 40 metres below them. Babe used her Fahtier ability to cushion their landing. [Thud!] Landing on the other building’s rooftop, they had no time to dally for the artillery drones were chasing after them with heavy fire. [Bam! Bam! Bam!]
“Over there!” Babe led the way to another adjoin building rooftop. Due to the buildings being so close together in that area, it was rather effortless for them to jump across. They dashed over several buildings while avoiding the artillery drones’ fire. Slowly they were approaching their desired destination.
“This can’t continue for much longer.” Babe realized that if she continued leading the artillery drones to their extraction aircraft, it would eventually come under siege by the FPD which could eventually prevent their escape from Bay City. She couldn’t allow this to happen, thus she made up her mind to deal with the drones before moving forward.
“Selene I’m going to try something dangerous. Make sure to seek cover where appropriate.” There was a thin metal piping couple of feet ahead. Babe broke off a piece of it, spun around then dashed upwards at the nearest drone firing at her.
[Whoosh! Clank!] One of the artillery drones got smashed to bits by the metal piping in Babe’s grasp. It collided with another drone which also exploded. That only left one functioning artillery drone. “No, you don’t!” The officer in control of the remaining artillery drone did his best to hover far away while still shooting lethal rounds at the Fahtier rebel. He wasn’t so much concerned about the weak Selene who was hiding behind an AC-unit. He could take care of her whenever he pleased.

[Bam! Bam! Bam!] Babe twisted and spun around adroitly to evade all of the deadly bullets shooting from the annoying drone. The drone user thought it was safe if he maintained a proper aerial distance from the rebel. However, he was sadly mistaken.
[Whoosh!] Understanding that the drone was trying to keep out of her destructive reach, Babe smirked wryly then attempted to try something risky. She ducked behind a roof extrusion to temporarily masked her visible.
“Think you can hide from me!” The drone operator also circled around the roof extrusion at a safe distance. [Whoosh!] The moment the drone came around, the operator noticed the rebel bending over with the metal piping positioned at the hole of her posterior.
“Peach Pistol!” [Boom!] Without prior warning, the drone operator witnessed a powerful fume of peach shooting out of the metal piping. [Boom!] It quickly crossed over an insane height, crashing into the artillery drone. That was the last altitude that drone ever tasted.
“Dammit!” In a control room the drone operator shot up from his desk in an angry fit, furthermore, he slammed his desk equipment all over the floor. “Do you have any idea how much effort I put into making those damn drones!!” [Sob! Sob!]
“Phew, that was exhilarating.” Recognizing that she wasn’t being followed by any more drones, Babe tossed away the metal piping, met up with Selene then continued rushing towards the extraction point. [Chep! Chep! Chep!]
“We’re almost at the Nevox building. Try and keep up.”
“I’m doing my best.” Selene responded with an audible breath of exhaustion. Up till now, she found it surreal that she was caught up in this sudden unfortunate situation. What would her parents say when they found out about her? She only went to Ketsuga Burger restaurant with her BFF Iyana to grab a quick meal and chill. Not in a million years she thought that she would be hunted like a criminal by the FPD just for cracking a silent wind in public.
“Hmm?” Glancing behind her, Babe saw that Selene was in deep thought and wasn’t focusing on her current predicament. “Hey! Snap out of it! This is no time for you to be dreaming. We have to escape before the FPD catches up with us.”
“Sorry, I was just….”
“Save your apologizes and thank yous for later. Right now you need to focus on getting to Nevox without further interruptions.” After she received her scolding, Selene complied with the rebel and picked up her pace.
[Whoosh!] Some minutes later, the criminal duo arrived at the Nevox building. They weren’t at the very top as yet. They had to shimmy over the side of a balcony to get to a platform which had a ladder leading to the roof.
“You climb up first.” Babe instructed Selene to ascend the ladder first while she followed behind. [Thud! Thud!] Finally making it to their extraction point, Babe felt less pressured and alleviated. This was when her head was still hanging low. However, upon raising her head to greet her ally, she beheld an unexpected scenery.
“Well, well. Look who finally decided to show up.” Officer Hizen accompanied by his lackeys was present on Nevox rooftop. He had the rebellious pilot pinned down underneath his boot heel. With a cocky smirk on his face and an august swagger to his temperament, officer Hizen pointed his lethal handgun at the pilot’s head.
“Nigel!” Babe was frantic and unsettled. She wanted to lash out at Hizen but he threatened her with the possibility of taking her companion’s life.
“Make any sudden movement and I’ll splatter his brains all over this pavement.” Officer Hizen portrayed a cynical smile when he saw that the Fahtier rebel was behaving obediently. “Good, good. Maggots should know who’s in control here.”
