Chapter 4 The Sniper Strikes
[Chep! Chep! Chep!] “They went inside the abandoned factory! Officers hurry!” [Creek!] “Huh? What happened here?” Officer Marian arrived at the abandoned factory with more FPD reinforcements. Upon entering, their eyes discerned multiple units of officers sprawled out on the floor. Eventually, they located the cause of this incident standing in the middle of the catastrophe.
“That’s her! The Fahtier rebel! She must have used her toxic farts to conquer all these officers!”
“You mean to tell me that a lone girl is capable of causing so much damage with that little ass of hers? Did she also subdue officer Hizen?”
“Oh, shoot. More of them.” The mysterious rebel saw more FPD officers came in and dashed through the narrow gap leading to the back alley.
“She’s escaping! Give chase!” [Hustle! Hustle! Hustle!]
[Thud! Thud!] “Damn! I still can’t reach. Now I’m regretting being so short.” Outside, Selene had already climbed atop the trash container. From there she was desperately trying to reach the above ladder by jumping as far as she could repeatedly, however, every time she tried to reach the ladder, she ended up falling on her behind.
“Hey! Why are you still here?” The mysterious rebel came into the back alley to find Selene jumping on top of a trash container.
Selene heard her and replied: “All the doors below are locked. So I’m trying to reach this ladder to climb above.”
“Then I’ll help you.” [Dash!] As the mysterious rebel rushed ahead, a vague arm reached out and grabbed hold of her slender leg.
“No, you won’t. Your ass is going to prison rebel bitch!”
“Huh, you?” Glancing over her shoulder, the rebel realized who it was holding her down. It was none other than the same female officer who she had bested earlier.
“Yes, it’s me!” [Flick!] Officer Marian equipped a sharp hand knife which she used to slash at the rebel’s ankle. Making her a cripple was what she intended. However, the rebel freed her leg in time and retreated several steps.
“Don’t get too conceited rebel! Your smelly ass is mine!” [Dum!] The female officer dashed forwards while eagerly slashing at the evading rebel’s vital points. [Slash! Slash!] She found out that her attacks weren’t getting through, thus she flipped backwards, ran alongside the alley wall, building up enough impetus to dash towards the difficult rebel with killing intensity. [Leap!]
“Peach Bazooka!” [Blow!] Perceiving the intensified officer soaring at her from above, the mysterious rebel dashed her hands to the ground then spun around with her plush rump aiming upwards at Marian. Before the female officer could relish the moment of slashing a piece of her butt cheek, a visible peach shape fume came out which exploded in her face. [Boom!]
“Kyaahh!” Officer Marian smelt the empowering aroma of peach ripping off her nose as she was carried away in the air by a blasting spiralling vapour. [Whoosh!] She even flew pass an incoming aircraft. Most likely she was going to have a rough landing.

The rebel female watched as the disrespectful officer’s figure vanished out of sight. “Who’s the bitch now?” she smirked.
“Amazing!” Selene was gobsmacked at seeing this mind-stitching spectacle. The rebel female had to join her on the trash container to snap her out of her dazed stupor.
“Now is not the time to get comfy. We need to get out of this alley and it looks like our ride is here.” She pointed to the incoming aircraft above.
“Babe! Where are you?” The pilot of the hovering aircraft spoke through his earpiece, communicating with the rebel below.
The female rebel touched her earpiece and replied: “Nigel we’re down in the alley just north of your current position.”
“Hm, I can see the faint trail of peach coming from there.” Looking below, the pilot also noticed more FPD officers surrounding the abandoned factory, some were already heading to the roof of the adjacent building to set up snipers. “Babe listen to me. That area is too narrow and crowded for extraction. Meet on the rooftop of Nevox building. Do you know how to get there?”
“Yes, I know the way.”
“Babe that area is about to be overrun with FPD operatives, be careful and keep that ass in check for me.”
“Don’t I always?” Babe answered cockily. Selene stared at her asking:
“How are we supposed to make it to the roof of Nevox if we don’t escape this place first?” [Thud! Thud!] Before she could receive an answer from the rebel, the FPD officers came storming into the narrow alley through the abandoned factory’s path.
“Open fire!” [Bam! Bam! Bam!]
“Duck!” [Whoosh!] Babe shoved Selene from top of the trash container. They hid behind it to avoid getting pierced by shooting bullets. But their hiding spot wouldn’t be durable for much longer.
“What now? We’re trapped like rats.”
Hearing Selene worried enquiry, Babe brought her into her tight embrace, kicked the trash container at the firing squad then used her peach vapour exuded from her buttocks to propel them up to the metallic staircase. [Fwoosh!]
“She’s farting again! And they are escaping to the roof! Somebody toss out a round one at that decrepit staircase!”
“I have one!” [Whoosh!] A grenade was thrown onto the metallic staircase. Realizing what had just dropped at her feet, Selene kicked it away in fear. [Boom!] Seconds after being airborne the grenade exploded, causing a major part of the metallic staircase to collapse.
“Watch out!” The officers below hurriedly retreated from the falling debris’ range. [Bam! Clank! Bam!] “Damn that almost got me! What happened to the criminals?”
“I think they made it to the roof! Should we also find a way up?”
“No need. The snipers positioned up top should be able to handle those little ladies. We’ll wait for confirmation of their deaths before heading out.”

“Alright.”
[Huff! Huff!] “That was extremely dangerous. My heart won’t stop racing.” Selene climbed up on the roof with the aid of the female rebel. Due to her near-death experience of almost getting blown to bits, she vomited undigested food all over the roof.
“Hey, are you doing ok? We can’t stay here for long we need to get to the extraction point.” [Bam!] “Huh?” The moment Babe reached out her hand to helped up Selene, a rotating bullet of destructive properties clipped off a piece of her nail before shooting into the concrete. [Boom!]
“Snipers? They already have snipers set up?” Babe realized the seriousness of the situation and dragged up Selene from the floor. Her heels stamped right into her own vomit. “We are too visible up here. The snipers will pick us off before we can even make it….” [Bam! Bam!] Bullets after bullets came shooting at their vitals, Babe couldn’t get a chance to finish her sentences.
“Damn! How come I keep missing my target? Do those chicks have devil’s luck or something?” The sniper positioned on the adjacent rooftop was peeved at the unfortunate marksmanship that was preventing him from hitting his targets. “Let’s try this again.” The sniper rubbed his fingers into some dust particles for a firmer grip then aimed his destructive weapon at the fleeing targets again.
“Behind there!” [Whoosh!] Babe dragged Selene behind a roof extrusion tall enough to avoid the sniper’s precision.
“Hahaha. Amateurs think you can hide from me. My ammo can pierce through solid concrete and beyond. See if I don’t tear you rebels to pieces today.” [Bam! Bam!]
“Eeek! The bullets are penetrating through!” Selene covered her head with her arms as if doing so would make a difference. “What now, lady? Is this how we both die?”
“None of us will be dying today.” Babe reassured Selene while taking something out from her waist. “I have one smoke canister left. I will use it to dim the sniper’s visibility of us then used the distraction to dash to the other building. It’s a bit higher than the roof the sniper is positioned on so he shouldn’t be able to snipe at us from up there. Plus we can use that height to our advantage to get to the Nevox building without much interference from the ground patrol.”
“But…” Selene saw the building that Babe was pointing to and was flabbergasted. “That’s Roofers apartment complex. By my estimate, it is nearly a hundred metres away in distance and 30 metres high. Can you really carry us that far?”
“I won’t know until I try but I think it is doable. It is either that or we get picked off by that sniper. Which one do you prefer, Selene?”
“Huh?” Selene was astonished. “How did you know my name? Do we know each other from somewhere?”
Babe gave a satisfactory explanation without giving away any hint of ill intent. “That was what your friend called you wasn’t it?”
“But why are you helping me? I can’t understand why you would go through all this trouble.”
“It seems like the right thing to do. Don’t read too much into it.”
After hearing Babe’s reply, Selene thought to herself. “This girl she’s a part of that infamous Fahtier organisation. I’ve read a report on how they caused an entire town to be quarantined due to an epidemic fart scare. Apparently, a lot of innocent people died in the process. I can’t imagine someone from that shady organisation rescuing me on a whim because I was being wrongly arrested by the FPD. Cases like that happen regularly. She must have an ulterior motive.”
“Hm?” Babe realized Selene staring at her strangely. “Is something on my face? You can admire my beauty later on when we get out of here. So what will it be? Have you made up your mind yet? That sniper won’t give up until we’re dead.”
[Bam! Bam! Bam!] The concrete masking their presence was gradually presenting bigger holes.
“I’ve decided to trust my life into your hands for now.” Selene gave her answer.
“Good. Now follow my lead.” [Psssh!] Babe detonated the smoke canister, causing thick vapours of milky colour to surround them.
“What are they pulling?” The sniper was alerted by seeing the sudden spread of gas blocking his vision. “Trying to escape under the guise of smoke? Ridiculous. I am a professional you know.” [Clank! Clank!] The sniper activated his scope’s x-ray vision. He witnessed two blurry figures dashing to the edge of the roof and fired.
[Bam! Bam! Whoosh!] Babe leapt off the roof with Selene just in the nick of time to avoid being pierced by destructive bullet rounds. While gaining distance away from the abandoned factory’s roof, Babe released some preternatural vapours from her bowels which produced gaseous amounts of peach. [Boom!] They exploded at her rear, giving her the boost she needed to carry Selene all the way up to the roof of Roofers apartment complex.
[Bam! Bam!] While they were ascending, the sniper did his best to try and penetrate them before they could escape his reach. Unfortunately, due to the continuous sway of his gun and his perturbed nature, he missed every single one of his shots. “Dammit! Those chicks must have devil’s luck!” after losing sight of the criminals, the sniper relayed his information to the rest of the FPD commanding troops.

Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
