A father died because of severe disease. He left his daughter alone in a small hut. She was eight years old, and she had no family to feed her.

The father, in his dying moment, said. “Please give me a second chance.” Before surrendering to his illness.

The father opened his eyes and noticed that it was nighttime. The moon shined upon him.

What is going on?

He lowered his gaze and saw a river not far from him. The father moved towards it. He was shocked when he saw his face.

I-I'm a wolf? The father gasped. His whole body was filled with greyish fur, his eyes were yellow, and his teeth had sharp teeth that could tear someone's flesh.

Did the gods answer my call? Then, on the river's surface, her daughter's face came into his view.

She had blonde hair, and her eyes were green. Daughter.... He stepped away from the river and sprinted towards the forest. He didn't know where he was in or the hut. All he could think of was her daughter.

Don't worry, daddy's coming home. Rain began falling on his body, but he still moved forward. Then, a tree fell on his path.

Rather than stopping, he increased his feet and jumped over the fallen tree. The father landed safely on the slippery ground and continued onward.

The rain stopped, but the father kept on going, not wanting to spare any time, his desire to meet his daughter was strong, even if you put a storm on his path, he would find a way to overcome it.

The night turned into day, and he could no longer keep his speed up. The father was breathing heavily, and his stomach grumbled. He scanned his surroundings and used his nose to sense the smell of animals.

Deer.... He tracked the deer's smell. The deer's scent grew stronger as he went deep into the forest. Soon, he arrived at a river.

The father saw the deer, drinking water from it. He began moving closer to the deer. He made sure each of his steps wouldn't startle the deer.

He got closer to the deer and jumped on its back. The father tackled the deer to the ground. The deer tried to fend him off, using his legs, but the father's strength was immeasurable. The father clenched his claws onto the deer's body, and it let out a loud cry before surrendering itself to him.

The father began eating the deer's corpse. After he finished eating it, he moved to the riverbanks and drank water from it. Next, he rested under a tree and closed his eyes so that he could rest.

The father began dreaming, it was pitch black, no sound, no smell, nothing, only darkness. He scanned his surroundings.

Where am I? He turned his head from left to right. Then, a light shined on to him, he averted his gaze from the light because of how bright it was. Then, he heard, her daughter's crying from the light.

The father turned his head towards it and found his daughter, standing alone and saying. "Daddy, daddy, where are you?" While rubbing her eyes.

The father ran towards her, but with each step he took, his daughter went further away from him.

No! No! No!

“No!” He woke up from his dream, panting. I need to see my daughter.

He started to run again to the woods. As he went deeper, the woods became recognisable to him because it was the place where he hunted for food.

I'm finally going to see my daughter. The father beamed, and he went on to increase his speed.

The father followed a trail that led to his hut. His daughter's face came into view again. His muscle began burning in pain, but he didn't stop. The father couldn't control his joy to meet his daughter again.

He longed for it, desired it, but most important of all was he wanted to protect his daughter. That was all he ever wanted for his second life, his daughter.

Out of nowhere, an arrow struck his body, and he fell to the ground. He tried to stand up, but another arrow went to his body, and his feet gave in. The father didn't stop, he forced himself to crawl forwards. But a human's boot blocked his path.

He tried to raise his head to look at the man's face but fell to the ground. The father closed his eyes, and a single tear came from it.

His vision went dark, and he dreamt about his daughter again, but this time, his daughter vanished as he got closer to her. The father greeted his teeth and howled as loud as he could.

“Daughter... I'm sorry....”

Then, he caught the smell of cooked beef. The father opened his eyes, his surroundings were full of cooking trays equipment. It looked like a kitchen. He turned his head to his body, white bandages had covered it.

A woman hummed in tune as she walked inside. She turned his head towards him and got closer.

“Oh, you finally woke up. Sorry that my husband struck an arrow at you, I couldn't bear myself to let someone get killed when they wanted to be alive.”

The father's eyes went wide. That golden hair, that blue sea eyes... it's her... Lily.

“Hmm... strange? I thought you were going to attack me. You must be a rare breed of wolf.” She smiled. “Anyways... what should I call you... Hmm....”

As she pondered, two children rushed inside the kitchen and ran towards her, hugging her apron.

“Kids, mommy has something to do.” She told them.

Wait? Kids? I-I'm a grandfather? He gasped, then he made his brows grew closer. Who the fuck did she marry?

When he thought about the last line, the father made a growled, and it made his daughter's children quivered in fear and they hid behind their mother.

“Don't be scared sweety, he's just hungry that's all.” She moved towards the table next to her and put some leftover food on the plate. Then, she handed the food to him.

The father's stomach growled, and he started to eat it.

“See.” The daughter smiled.

Her children poked their heads and watched the father consumed the food.

Then, a tall man entered the kitchen with his dirty boots, and it stained the kitchen's floor. “Honey, what's for dinner?”

So, this is the man that married my daughter? The father scanned from head to toe. Not bad.

“Clean yourself first before coming into the kitchen.” She warned him.

“But....”

“No, buts. My house, my kitchen, my rules.” She told him.

“Fine.” He surrendered. His eyes rolled towards the wolf. “He lives. And he's not growling... Strange.”

“Get your ass, out of my kitchen.” She shouted at him.

“Okay, okay.” He walked through the curtain.

“Kids, would you mind, let mommy do her work?”

“Yes, mommy.” Her children said in unison and left her.

My daughter has all ground up to be a fine woman. I shouldn't have doubted her. He looked at his daughter's face. She looks very happy with her new life. Then, if I can... I must protect her new life.

“Well, I better start making preparation. You stay there and accompany me, okay?” She beamed, and the father nodded his head.
