Alex’s sword repelled the demon’s king sword. He stepped away from the demon king, but when his foot touched the ground beneath him. It lightened up.
‘Fuck!’
“Don’t worry.” I took over his body and rolled to the left.
The ground where our foot stepped exploded. I formed a blue transparent shield with a pentagram in the middle to block the debris from injuring us.
“Thanks.”
“We’re not done yet.” I pointed towards the demon king that was charging towards us.
I stretched out his hand, “Water ball!”
And propelled it towards him. The water ball hit him and sent him flying towards the wall behind him.
He spitted out blood and looked at us. “I got to say James, you’re much more helpful when you’re dead than living. Pretty impressive on how you take control the kid’s body, but that itself won’t kill me.”
The demon king laughed.
“Hey, can you read his mind?”
“Can’t.” I shook my head. “He’s blocking it.”
“Fuck!”
“Are you having a strategy meeting?” The demon king asked, and we looked at him with annoyance. He continued, “Of course you’re… try finding it….”
He laughed.
“Alex, be careful when you’re attacking him. We don’t know what kind of tricks he’s using.” I warned him.
“James, can we speak for a moment,” He had finished laughing as he brushed out the tears from his eyes.
“Don’t speak a word to him.” I told Alex.
“No? Well, in that case, let me tell you a story about him.”
At that moment my body began to stiff. He’s going to use that.
“It all started in one faithful day, the sky was blissful, birds were chirping in tune, it almost felt like they were singing, but I hate it, so I kill them.”
I began to boil up.
“So, I was walking on a trail. Then, I stumbled upon this small town. Oh boy, they were so happy, they were actually laughing, singing and dancing.”
“Cut to the point already!” Alex shot a lightning arrow at him. In which the demon king dodge with ease.
“Do you think, I will fall for the second time? Are you that stupid? That was just a cheap shot. And that arrow, that is one of the cheapest shots that I’ve ever face.” The demon king shrugged and sighed. “Anyways, back to the topic.”
He continued. “Because they were so happy, I decided to pay a visit and gave them a performance that they will never forget.
“Hey, you’re holding the sword too tight.”
“What?” I lowered my head and looked at the sword. His hand was trembling on the sword’s tilt.
“Hey, you two, focus! I’m telling a story here.” He shouted at us.
“Now, where were we… ah yes, the performance. So, I walked in there, do a little magic trick and they were all shock to see it. Some of them even cried when I performed the magic trick on them.” He laughed.
“Then, this couple came up to me and disturbed my performance with their own. But the crowd didn’t say anything though because they were already gone quiet because of my amazing and wonderful performance.”
“Hey James…” Alex was breathing heavily.
“So, the three of us do our magic, there were fire, water, swords flying everywhere, it was a fantastic sight and the most annoying one to say at least. I already had enough of it and wanted to end the whole performance and escaped. But this woman rushed to me with an awful dance and accidentally got stab in the chest. Not gonna lie, she sang very beautifully when the sword stabbed her. Well, I was holding the sword, but she was the one that rushed to me… So it’s not my fault. The man with rage in his eyes rushed to me. I told him ‘wait’ but he didn’t listen and he too got stabbed by my second sword.

The whole thing was devastating yet amusing. I almost cried but I didn’t because I got no heart. The woman’s blood that was on a sword looked very tasty. So I taste it using my tongue and oh my god. If god tastes her blood, he too will enjoy it.” He laughed.
“The most fun part, the man was looking at me with those teary eyes.”
“J-James..,”
“And so, I walked to him and cut.of.his.head.” He smiled. “Then, that stupid Death interfere and brought him back and now he came back as ghost that possessed a young boy. And he bring that boy here, to his death. What a sore loser.” The demon king laughed.
“Teacher!” Alex shouted my name.
“Don’t… let… him… get… in… your… head….”
Alex panted as his knee failed him. He used the sword to support him.
“Remember what you’ve taught me? How to be calm in this situation and don’t let the enemy get to your head. Look who’s breaking that rule now. My teacher won’t let something like this get into him. He’s strong.”
“Oh! This must be one of those scenes where the main character get power up for no reason.” He believed. “Well, sorry, but I won’t let you.”
The demon king dashed towards us. Alex covered himself with lightning and moved to the left as the demon king passed him.
“Who taught me that? Who taught me to use my lightning to increase my speed?”
I paused.
“You did when I was against that grasshopper guy.” He answered.
The demon king cast several dark orbs and sent them towards us. “Dodge this!”
Alex enchanted several throwing knives with his lightning and flung them towards the dark orbs.
“Who taught me to enchanted them? You did when we were against that hydra.”
The two attacks crashed into each other and made a wall of dust. Alex made a lightning clone, and it went towards the wall of dust.
“Who taught me that? You did when we’re against that flying beetle.”
I didn’t say anything because of how useless I was during this fight. Alex sprinted to the left and avoid the dust.
The clone changed himself into a spear and went straight to the demon king.
The demon king raised his hand and shook the lightning off.
Alex increased his speed and got closer to the demon king. The demon king rolled his eyes at him and grabbed his neck before he could swing the sword.
“Do you think I fall for that? Is this how he teaches you? Dying in vain? Because that was pretty impressive and stupid at the same time.” The demon king told him.
“Tell me James, do you still want another person die because of your inefficiency? If so then let me help you with that.” He began twisting Alex’s head.
Alex cried for pain and his cried made me remember that day. The day my wife died in front of me.
A sword, blood and a smile. Then, I died.
“Don’t you dare.” I shouted and controlled Alex’s left hand.
I conjured an air bullet and sent it towards the demon king. He released Alex from his grasp and the air bullet sent him flying to the air before hitting the ground.
“Still fighting,” He spitted out blood and smiled, “I thought I break you.”
James breathed heavily before raising his head to answer him. “My teacher is stronger than you, asshole.”
“My such vulgar words.”

“What can I say, I’m his teacher.” I responded to him using Alex’s body. His voice changed into mine.
“Hey!”
“Don’t worry, I let you take over.” I explained to Alex.
“Let’s end this today.”
“Finally, you’re getting serious.” The demon king smirked.
“I got a plan, let’s do full power.” I told Alex.
“Alright! Let’s go.”
The air became electrified and chilling. Alex’s black hair became a mix of white and yellow, with yellow on the right side and white on the left. His left eye became blue, and his right eye became red.
The demon king didn’t let us finish and stormed towards us with a sword in hand. I raised my left hand and created a blue ice shield with a snowflake symbol on it. His sword struck the shield, and I began freezing the sword on it.
Alex conjured several lightning spears. The demon king tried to remove his sword from my shield, but the ice from the shield used the sword as its conductor and tried to freeze the demon king.
The demon king jumped away from his sword. Alex sent the spears towards him. The demon king tried to move away but couldn’t because I freeze his feet.
“You!”
“You can’t escape this!” I shouted at him as the lightning spears struck him and exploded. It covered our surroundings with a cloud of black smoke.
“Did we… did it?” Alex muttered.
“Let me take a look,” the right eye shined.
It scanned our surroundings, then in the corner of my eyes, the demon king appeared.
“Block left.”
Alex moved his hand to his left. A wall of lightning appeared, but no one was coming.
Shit! that’s means. I created an ice sphere around us.
“What’s going on? He’s not dead?”
“Not yet.”
“Have you pinpoint him?”
“Doing it right now.”
The dust cleared, and as I looked above us. The demon king was hovering above us.
Half of his left body was destroyed, and his face showed an intense expression.
“He’s mad…”
“Yeah, I can see it.” I told him.
“What now?”
The demon king raised his hand. A large dark orb appeared above him.
“Of all my adventure, I never been so mad until you two came. As a token of my gratitude, I give you the honour to witness my true power.” The dark orb became bigger and bigger.
“He’s going to destroy this place and along with him.”
“Then, what should we do?” Alex asked me.
“A large ice spike won’t cut it nor a spiral lightning spear.” I explained to him.
“Dammit, if only we can stop him just one bit, I can probably stab him with my sword.”
What Alex said was right. If only we could stop him from just a moment… stop him… huh?
“Alex! What did you say earlier?”
“Stop him for just a moment?”
“Yes! That’s it.”
“W-what?”
“There will be an opening. I need to push your speed to the max-no, push it over your limit. We only have one chance for this to work.”
“What are you going to do?”
“Cutting ties.”
“Huh?”
“Get ready kid, this is your last lesson. Do your teacher proud.”
“Alright!” I placed my hand over the sword and we tightened our grip.
I opened the doom, and we dashed towards him.
“Push it!” I instructed him.
“Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…” Alex increased his speed.
As we got closer to him. “Goodbye, Alex.”
His whole right side became yellow and the air around him became electrified. He flew towards the demon king with all his power.
“Do you think with a little boost you can… W-what’s going on? Why can’t I move!”
“You’re not going to get away this time.” I told him before using his mouth, “Alex! Now!”
Alex’s eyes widened, but he knew what he had to do. He dashed towards us.
I’m sorry, teach. I read his mind.
His sword stabbed me and the demon king in the chest. The pain coursed through me, and I spit out blood from the demon king’s mouth.
“Heh, I’m proud of you.” I told him.
Tears were flowing through Alex’s cheeks. He raised his head and looked at us.
“Died! You asshole!”
I didn’t know if he was pointing that phrased to me or the demon king. But, I didn’t care at all because the kid-no, Alex has killed the demon king.
His body began lightening up in bright colour. Alex pulled out his sword from our chest.
“Goodbye… Hero…” with those last words. The demon king’s body and soul along with me exploded into a bright white colour.
I opened my eyes and he showed up. And beside me was the demon king.
“You!”
“You can’t hurt me in this dimension.” I told him.
The demon king greeted his teeth before a door opened behind him. An eerie present was behind the door.
“N-No, I don’t want to go in there. S-save me, James, save me.” He begged.
I turned away and walked towards him.
“N-no! Stay away! Stay away! No-.” Something had blocked his mouth. I looked at him getting dragged to the door.
The door closed and disappeared. I let out a sigh of relief and faced the man that given me this opportunity.
“Well. I got my revenge,”
“Yes, you did.”
“So… you will collect my soul, right?”
“Are you sure about that?”
“Y-yeah, didn’t that part of the deal? When you give me this opportunity?”
“You seem to forget something.”
“Huh?”
“Remember what you said to me that day.”
I closed my eyes and opened it. In front of me was my old self.
“Please give me the opportunity to kill him! To kill the demon lord!” I told him.
“Why?”
“He… he killed my wife!” I explained to him.
“And how will you do it?”
“I’m going to stab him!”
“How will you do it?”
“I don’t know, but if you give me a new body or something to use, then I will use them to stab him.” I reasoned with him.
“Hmm… But what will you give me in return if I help you?”
“My soul!”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes!”
“Alright then, I will give you a body to possessed and if you manage to kill him using that body. Your soul will be mine. Do we have a deal?”
“Yes!” I stood up and shook his hand.
The view became dark, and I return to face the person, in the present time.
“So, did you managed to kill him?”
“No. My student did, Alex did.”
“Then, what does that mean?”
“I-I don’t know.”
“Hmm…” He caressed his white chin before speaking, “I gave you two choices.”
“Huh?”
“Go to heaven and meet your wife.”
Wait! I can meet my wife again!
“Or return to the boy and helped him to bring down the other demon king.”
I paused for a bit.
“Your call.” He stroked his staff to the ground and a white door appeared and opened.
It showed me my wife who was waiting under an apple tree.
I moved towards it but stopped halfway.
“What will happen to the kid, if I choose my wife?”
“I don’t know, but what I can tell his path will become more dangerous without you. He may die, but he may also save the world, or he can also be a part of the world’s destruction.” He told me.
He continued, “So, what will be your choice?”
I tightened my fist and raised my head. “He’s strong, he doesn’t need my guidance anymore, what ever path he will take, I’ll be there to support him and welcome him.”
“So, what are you going to heaven and let the fate of the world in the hands of a child?”
I let out a small sigh, “Yes.”
“Then, you may proceed to heaven.” He told me.
“Thank you,” I walked towards the door but stopped, and turned around to face him.
“Huh? Having second guess?”
“No, but could you send me a message to him?”
“A message?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll do what I can do.” He told me, “So, what is your message.”
I lowered my eyes and looked at him. “Hey kid, do your teacher proud.”
“That’s it?”
“Yes.”
“Alright, then the message has been delivered.”
“Thank you.” I thanked him.
He nodded his head.
I turned around and stepped inside. The door behind me closed and my wife ran towards me.
“James! I miss you so much.” She hugged me.
“I miss you too.” I faced her and kissed her lips before pulling away.
“I’ll be here with you forever.” I told her. She took my hand and we walked towards the apple tree.
I turned to face the door.
“What’s up dear?”
“I have a story tell you,” I began telling her about the story of my adventure with Alex.
