The morning after the incident, Leon and I decided to not go to school, and instead go somewhere we both can relax. I was not fond of the idea of cutting school at first, because I was a scholar in our school, and I needed to maintain a certain amount of days I was present, but screw that, being with Leon matters more.

It was around five o clock in the morning, Leon woke me up, and he told me to wear some jogging pants and a t-shirt.

He also told me to wear a hoodie, however I did not bring my hoodie, so Leon just lent me his. It was actually somewhat big, and it felt loose for me, but Leon told me to bear with it.

Leon then held my hand and proceeded to drag me down stairs to the garage. He then gave me a helmet and told me to wear it.

“Hey, what’s this for?”

“It’s secret, just wear it”

As we approached the garage, Leon told me to wait for him there; He will just take ‘It’ out.

“Wait Leon, What do you mean by ‘it’?”

“I told you, it’s a secret, just wait for me here”

I waited for about five minutes then suddenly I heard the sound of a motorcycle being driven. It was still dark, so the lights that were coming from the motorcycle were a little blinding. The motorcycle park beside me, and to my surprise, Leon was the one driving the motorcycle.

“Hop on”

“Woah….Woah, you own a motorcycle? Are you even at the right age to drive this thing?”

“Hahahaha, Don’t worry! It’s cool, just trust me”

Oh well, what could possibly go wrong I told myself. I hopped in the motorcycle. Leon then drove off.

“Hold on tight Okay?”

Leon told me that, but I could see that he really like it when I was wrapping my arms around him. The wind blew pass us so hard. It felt good.

“Go faster!”

Leon then turned the throttle and the motorcycle began to move faster, I could feel the wind blew harder. The sun was already rising, and the view was so amazing. I wished that moment would never end.

We arrived at the near-by beach. He then told me to get off and wait for him down by the beach; He will just park the motorcycle.

I gave the helmet I was wearing back to Leon, and did what he said. As I was walking at the sand, I could see the waves of the ocean slowly becoming high tide. I played with the clams and seashells.

I went towards the water and splashed it around.

It was probably still around early morning, I wasn’t sure about the time, cause I forgot to bring my phone. However, judging by how the sun was still rising, I assumed that it was still morning.

The wind blew gracefully and peacefully. It was very quiet; I could only hear the sounds of waves clashing and the birds that were flying around the sky.

“I wonder what’s taking him so long.”

Leon still was not around. I kept on overthinking.

“Did he leave me here? Did something happen to him?”

Suddenly I heard Leon’s voice.

“Hahahahaha, Did I keep you waiting?”

I punched him, and said, “Don’t ever do that, you scared me”

“Ouch, sorry, the parking area was really far from here, and I had to change my clothes”

I actually did not notice at first that he changed his clothes. He was wearing white long sleeves with black pants and leather shoes. His hair was tied; he looked like one of those people in those very cliché scenes in romantic movies.

“Hahahahaha, what’s with the get up?”

He then held my hand and kneeled down.

“Wait….what? Wait a minute… what’s happening, is he proposing to me!” I told myself

“Alexis Cosme, I have only known you for three months, in those months I’ve never met a girl so clumsy, so unlucky, and so annoying like you.”

“Hey, are you trying to insult me?”

“Nah, I can say the same about myself. I am dumb, stubborn, and rude and an idiot, but recent events have shown me that this boy, this very arrogant boy standing in front of you, needs a girl like you in his life, Cause you know, every prince needs a princess to spend his whole life with right?. Will you be my princess?”

I was in dismay, I did not know what to say to him or how to react, Leon’s words caught me completely off guard, but even before, I could say a word. Leon then stood up and leaned forward.

His forehead was touching mine. His eyes were staring at mine. Out of impulse, I closed my eyes, Leon also did, and I thought he was going to kiss me. Then I heard a very familiar voice.

“Hey Alexis haven’t seen you for a while!”

I opened my eyes again, and was surprise to see that Leon was not the one with me, but it was Carlo.

I pushed him back, and tried to run. However, as I was turning to the other side, there he was again.

In every side, Carlo was there. I collapse at the ground, and prayed for Leon to show up.

“What’s the matter Alexis? Don’t you love me?”

“Give me a kiss babe”

“STOP! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOO!”

I closed my eyes, and kept shouting ‘No’ repeatedly, and then everything fell silent.

I was so scared to open my eyes, but I knew I had to look. I opened my eyes, and was relief to see that I was still in Leon’s room. I was still in his bed lying down. I could feel the pillow my head was resting in was wet from my tears.

Glad it was only a nightmare. I thought to myself

Leon was not on the bed. I wondered where he went, then I began to cough uncontrollably, I rushed to the bathroom to cough on the sink. My eyes were in woe, for I coughed out blood.

I did not know what to do. Why was there blood? What does this mean? Then suddenly I had the urge to vomit, I kneeled down facing the toilet and proceed to vomit.

“What is happening to me?” I asked myself

Then I heard the door being open, I quickly cleaned the bloodstains, and wash my face to remove the pigments.

I walked out of the bathroom, and I saw Leon.

Leon’s face seemed to look, so tired and worn out as if he just went to war.

“Hey, are you okay?”

“Yeah, just went to the police station to clear up somethings.”

I immediately thought of what happened last night.

“What happened? Why were you there?”

“It’s cool, just cleared up the misunderstanding; you look pale, are you okay? Are you sick?”

He touched my forehead to check if my body temperature was high. I didn’t want him to worry, so I told him “I’m fine don’t worry, just have a little hang over from last night”

Leon looked really sad, so I told him something funny.

“Hey, you shouldn’t be sad, because sad spelled back words is das, and das is not good”

He smiled a little bit and patted me on the head.

After that Leon told me to go to sleep again, he will follow soon. He will just smoke outside for a while. For some reason I felt very exhausted, so I decided to go to bed, A few minutes passed by, Leon finally finished his cigarette.

He lied down on the bed beside me, and we both proceeded to sleep. We woke up around the afternoon, it seemed like we were both worn-out and tired.

Leon accompanied me going home as always, but both us were not speaking to each other. It felt like we were both hiding something.

We finally reach the corner of my house, and Leon said his goodbyes. I went inside my house and passed the living room where my mom and dad were.

“Alexis, where have you been? We were worried sick!”

“Sorry dad”

“Don’t do that again, I know how you feel about Leon, but you need to know your limitations”

“That boy is a bad influence on you”

My dad kept scolding me, he treated like a child, but I knew what I was doing.

“DAD STOP, please stop.

Then suddenly I felt an urge of numbness around my body, and I collapsed on the floor. My father rushed to catch me.

I was starting to lose consciousness

“Dad, don’t tell Leon anything. Okay?”

My dad was holding me while my mom was calling for an ambulance, is there something wrong with my body. I wonder what could have happened. My eyes were slowly closing as my mind began to fade to utter blankness; the last thing I thought about was Leon.

I woke up in the hospital, I could hear my dad’s voice and another man’s voice, I assumed it was the doctor, they were discussing about what happened to me.

“Don’t worry Mr. Cosme, your daughter is fine. She was just very exhausted.”

“Thank you doctor for everything.”

“I suggest she should refrain from doing anything strenuous activities, if she wants to get better, I recommend she should stay in the hospital for at least a month, so she could

rest with ease.”

I still could not move my body; I wanted to be with Leon so bad.

I tried to get off the bed, but once I standing I immediately fell, my dad ran to my side to aid me.

He carried me to the bed again and said.

“You need to rest!”

“But dad, I feel fine, Look!”

I tried to raise my arm, but it was so hard, I eventually gave up.

My dad begged me to stay in bed for the day.

I was feeling a little drowsy again, so I went to sleep again. However, I could not stop thinking of Leon.

As my mind was going to slumber, I wondered what Leon was doing right now.
