They say it only takes four seconds the moment you meet a person to decide if He/she is a potential love interest.

So why did it take me so long to realize I love Leon?

“Does Leon even know I love him?”

“Should I tell him?”

“I think he probably knows already,”

I talk to myself to pass the time because I was still in the hospital. It was so boring; I hardly had anything to do. I wished Leon was here, but I told my dad to keep this a secret from him.

Leon already has too many problems in his plate; I do not want to be one of them.

Why did I fall for him anyway, he was the complete opposite of my type. If I would pick a person, I would pick a hot, smart and kind person, but unfortunately, those people are so rare.

With that in my mind, why the heck did I fall for Leon, so I began to pounder on the traits that Leon has: his strong, he has a nice body, his very kind sort of, and his a little bit handsome.

As I was thinking about Leon, I began to blush, and be a little bit shy.

“EEEkk, damn it, Leon is not even around, and still act like this. Damn I must have fallen hard for him,”

“Maybe when I finally get out of this hospital, I’d tell him how I feel, or maybe not,”

“I hope I get out of this place soon,”

One month later.

I finally get to go to school, Wow this is the first time I am so excited to go to school, but really, I was just so excited to see Leon. The bastard didn’t even leave a text or contacted me while I was in the hospital.

Once I was in school, I quickly passed by Leon’s classroom to check, if he was there. Obviously, he was not there, I wanted to go to the roof, but even before I got to reach the staircase leading there, the school bell rang, so I decided to go there after lunch.

As I arrived at my classroom, my classmates swarmed me, apparently, they all missed me, and they kept asking questions:

“Hey, what happened to you?”

“Why were you absent?”

“Are you ok?”

“Can I borrow money?”

Well that last part was somewhat out of place, but whatever. I punched the guy anyway.

My only answer to them was “Something came up, so I had to be absent for a month,”

The teacher comes in the classroom and started his lecture, I never listened to a lecture a teacher gave, but I would always pass any test or exam.

I guess I am just so freaking smart. I thought proudly of myself.

After class ended the teacher requested me to visit him in the faculty room, he wanted to discussed, the special project I was given to make up for the days I was absent.

During lunch I went to the faculty room to talk to the teacher, he was saying that I had to do an oral report on a certain topic to the second years.

The report I needed to do was about “The effects of alcohol and drugs to the human body”.

When the teacher finally finished telling me about my report, I dashed towards the room, cause lunch time was about to end.

I did not want to get in trouble at the first day I return to school. I was already near the staircase leading to the roof when the bell rung.

“Damn it, I didn’t make it,”

I wanted to see Leon so bad, but it had to wait, I guess I’ll just visit his classroom after school.

I proceeded to my classroom. I was so eager to see Leon, I kept looking at the clock to see if it was already time, but I swear it was the longest four hours of my life.

As usually I did not listen to the stupid dumbass lectures of the teacher, I mean why ‘teach’ physics.

I won’t be even using ‘physics’ in the future, so why teach this, why not teach ‘how to pay your taxes or how to vote’, stuff like that.

Anyway, classes finally ended, all the students were already starting to leave school, but amongst the crowd, I didn’t see Leon and his friends, but I still went towards the classroom.

As I arrived at the classroom, there was still a group of students, that was still in it, among them was Edi, so I tried to get his attention by throwing an eraser to him.

I thought he would dodge it, because I assumed he being a very good fighter and all could dodge it with his reflexes, but unfortunately, the eraser hits his head.

“OUCH! Who threw that eraser?”

“Sorry! Edi I thought you would dodge it,”

“Oh it was you Alexis, “

Edi then stood up and came closer to me.

“If you’re looking for Leon, his still on the roof,”

“Oh, he hasn’t gone home yet,”

“Yeah, I told him to wait for me, because I still had theater practice.”

“Wait your one of the members of the theater club, that’s so freaking cool dude,”

“Hahahahaha. Thanks, let’s go,”

“Aren’t you going to continue your meeting with the rest of the club members?”

“Nah, it’s cool, I’m just the main character, they already told me what I needed to do, and besides I’ve already memorized my lines,”

“You sure it’s ok?”

“Yeah, we all are good at memorizing stuff, well out of the six of us friends; Leon is the only one in bad academics,”

“Hahahahahaha, really I didn’t know that,”

“Yeah, anyway let’s go to the roof now,”

Edi and I started our walk going to the roof, we both chatted to each other while we were walking, and it was nice, getting to know Leon’s friends.

As I opened the door of the roof.

I heard a loud boom then confetti started to rain. After that I heard Elrick, Edi, and Christian and Jiro said:

“Welcome back!!!!!!!!”

I was so surprised when it happened, I did not expect they would do this; they even prepared food and drinks for the occasion.

“Hahahaha, you guys, you didn’t have to do this!”

“Well you are our friend, so yeah, we wanted to this for you. You just disappeared then you just appeared, the pact didn’t feel complete without you, and I want to mention that a certain someone was sad while you were gone.”

“Hahahaha, thanks guys. What do you mean by a certain some one? Do you mean Leon? Where is Leon? I haven’t seen him all day.”

Then the guys looked at each and smile.

“Edi start the music,” Elrick shouted.

Edi then took out his phone and played “far away by Nickelback.”

As the music was playing, Elrick was reading aloud something written on a piece of paper.

“To Alexis Cosme the most annoying and unlucky girl I met, DON’T EVER FUCKING DISAPPEAR AGAIN! From Leon Cruz”

Then they all faced the door, in instinct, I too faced the door, and in surprise, I saw Leon being pushed by Christian.

“Hey, don’t fucking push me asshole!”

“Come on, don’t be such a pussy, go talk to her!” Christian told Leon.

“It wasn’t even my idea!”

“Just go!”

Leon was finally in front of me, unlike his friends, he was wearing white sleeves and black pants, his hair was a little bit messy, but I didn’t expect that much from him. His hair either would be messy or tied.

“Hey, Uhm…Hi, How are you?”

I smiled and said “hahaha, hi, I’ve been fine. How about you?”

“I’m fine too,”

I could see that he was a little bit agitated, because he kept avoiding eye contact. Then Edi pushed Leon forward causing Leon to move closer to me.

The song in the background was on the chorus, then a tear ran down my eye, and I hugged Leon out of instinct.

I wanted to scold him and shout at him for not contacting me all this time, I was so mad at Leon, but when he was already there in front of me. The only thing I could say or do was to hug him.

“Stupid Leon, why didn’t you texted me?”

“I miss you so much, Stupid Leon! I hate you!”

“Sorry, I tried texting you, but I forgot I didn’t have your number, I even tried asking your classmates, but for some reason they didn’t want it go it to me.”

“Yeah, I told them to never give out my number.”

“Hahahahaha. Aren’t you going to let go of me now.”

“No, I don’t want to,”

This was my chance, I wanted to say ‘I love you’, but I couldn’t, I kept hesitating.

So I just stopped hugging him, but I was still holding his hand.

“Well, that was nice and all, but I’m starving, so let’s eat.” Edi said while holding a plate full of pizza.

The night went on we hanged out, ate and had fun, I was so happy that time.

After that we all went back home, Leon dropped me off at my house, like usual, and with that our days would go back to normal.
