Chapter 3

Too much questions. Not enough answers

The 4 people gasp and had a look of confusion. It seems this stones are translation stones.

"We would like to explain why you were summoned here but this place is not the right place. Please follow our head maid to a room prepared to received you." She said as one of the maid made a bow.

"In the room, two of our most trusted aide will be explaining everything. We apologize for not being able to talk more for the kingdom is quite busy and we are still needed on the affairs. Head maid, please guide them" as she said the made gesture to us to follow.

Guided by the maid, they walked on a long hallway. As they look around. They saw armors standing on walls and painting of nobles and sceneries.

After a few turns. The maid stopped and said "This is the room, my lords"

She made another bow before walking away.

In a room with luxurious ornaments.

Two men stood waiting within the room.

One who looks like in his forties. Wearing plated armor and a broad sword on his waist.

While the other man who looks like in his fifties. Wearing a robe and a circlet on his forehad. With eyes full of wisdom he evaluated the youth who just entered the room.

"Please sit down" said the man with the armor.

The youths sat down on the chairs without saying a word, still confused about the situation.

"We know you have questions to ask but first, we would like to introduce ourselves. My name is Lutherford Delvid, the Commander of the Royal Army and here is.."

"Turstin Gespar, Royal Court magician. And once more, welcome to the kingdom of Rosedell. Now, any questions?"

After the short introduction. Roan raised his hands and asked.

"Uhm, why are we summoned here? This sound so cliche but, are we supposed to defeat some sort of demon-lord?"

When Roan asked that question, the two girls look down and had a face of despair.

"Hoho, straight to the point huh?" (Lutherford)

"Hmm yes, that reason you kids had been summoned is to prepare for the demon-lord's ascension" said the old mage.

"Preparation? Ascension? So there is no Demon-Lord as of now?" A teenager with glasses said while knitting his brows.

"Yes, as of now, it is still the time of peace. But in the past years, demons and monster are starting to rampage and they are getting stronger. We concluded that this is the sign of an awakening of a new demonlord." The old knight, Lutherford answered.

The youths had a questioning look after they heard the answer.

"In short, The previous demonlord has been slain by your predecessor, a previous summoned heroes. An era of peace has come, but ominous signs are showing here and there once more. This signs are what made us summon you all" (Turstin)

"We're afraid that another era of chaos might come upon us, as preparation, we had to forced use the summoning spell" (Lutherford)

"You said preparation. So when will the demonlord will... Awaken?" Raze asked a question.

Turstin raised a brow and said "We don't have the exact time for the awakening but we estimated that it'll take a year or two to show more signs. Once we have all the information, we will be able to determine the Rise"

A moment of silence came before another questions was asked.

"Is there a war? Are we going to war? Can we go home? Can you send us back?" The girl with a chestnut hair color asked, trying to contain her tears.

"Yes. There might- no, there will be war. And we will need your help for the upcoming war. But do not worry, we are not forcing you to join. You all were summoned so that we could ask for your help. We are not letting you go to your deaths" said Lutherford with a low voice and a calm manner.

"And of course, we can send you back home but, unfortunately, it is impossible to do it immediately. It'll take time for the spell to be used again." Turstin answered the last half of the question?

"It'll take time? How long?" Asked the girl with a dim red hair.

Turstin paused before he answered. "Probably within three to five years. We have to gather the catalyst for the spell, and for the royal crystal's mana to replenish and to--"

"Three to five years!!? How come!? How about our lives? Our families? What do you think they will think if we suddenly vanished without saying a word with them?!" The red head girl yelled, agitated about the news.

"Please calm down. Don't you worry, the time in your world not take a turn, time will stopped. Once we return you to your world, everything will be the same." Turstin quickly said trying to calm down the girl.

"And also, you will be able to keep half of the power- spells and magic you might obtained in this world." He added

Everyone had was shocked about the news. And once more, silence enveloped the room.

Lutherford broke the silence "We apologized and we know how you all feel about this. It seems like you kids are not acquainted to each other yet. We will leave you for now and let you calm down. I will have the maids serve you tea and food"

The two men walk towards the door. "And we will protect you. That we promise." Lutherford added before closing the door.

Silence... It took a moment before the boys in the group notice one of the girls has tears dripping down on her face. While the other girl is trying to calm down the one with tears.

Roan stood up and took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Alright... For now, lets introduce ourselves."
