Chapter 2
A forest of lush green trees. You can hear birds chirping and animal cries. A bush make a small movement and came out white furry ball. It has two red eyes and a small horn pointing upwards. A herbivorous animal called horn rabbit. As the white furry ball was trying to approach a fallen fruit, a quick shadow suddenly pounced at the animal. A bird took the rabbit as prey.
If one look closely, the bird has sharp point beak and knife like claws.
These animals are commonly seen in most forest.
Deep within the forest. A small shadow of silhouette is moving at high speed, maneuvering around the forest and avoiding a collision. Behind the small shadow follows a bigger shadow but, this one isnt maneuvering. Its moving at the small shadow in a straight line, crushing onto trees and making the trees bend. Thud thud thud thud, craaaash. Sound of heavy footstep echoing and timbers falling.
A small green light came from the smaller shadow and onto the bigger shadow. And a voice was heard.
"Wind Blade!" After casting a spell, a young boy came out of the deep woods, finally able to see rays of lights from the sun. The boy was holding a sword on his right hand, bow on his back, a quiver full of arrows and beside the quiver was an scabbard for the sword.
Guuuaaaaaooorrrrr!! Roars came after being struck by this so called wind blade.
As sunlight shines upon the shadow, an animal covered in brown furs and big sharp claws showed its enraged look. Calling this enraged beast as an animal is wrong, for they are properly called monsters. An arrow was embedded at the back of the monster.
The boy was panting while running. Inside his head was a word that kept repeating.
Run. Run. Run. Run. Run!!!
And so the boy kept running until he was near his destination, The river. The monster, still enraged didn't noticed that it was not in the woods anymore. While still feeling a pain its back caused by an arrow and a new wound on its front. It only wants to tear the human that cause this pain to itself.
The human and monster kept running, closing the distance little by little.
When the monster got close enough to the youth, it jump and tried to pounce.

The young boy notice the sound of the footstep momentarily fade and a shadow from above came in sight. With a quick thought, he kicked the ground and moved sideways.
Booom! Sound came and the bear flopped and the ground. But it quickly got up continued chasing the boy.
On the riverside, the boy saw a silhouette of a man fishing. His face brighten by the familiar person holding a fishing rod. He took a deep breath and yelled "HEEEELP!"
Soon the man on the riverside stood up, took another rod like stick.
He took a posture and threw the stick.
When the youth saw this action, he immediately jumped sideways.
Swiiiish. A sound came quickly then with Tchah. A harpoon accurately pierced the heart of the monster.
A man walked to the youth and said. "Care to explain, Raze?"
..........
"Well son, I'm pretty sure I asked you to hunt the white furry balls or the feathery ones. Not this big furred monster with deadly claws. You sure are getting cocky nowadays" Dad who was fishing a moment ago, glared at me.
"I was hunting those, until I accidentally hit a grizzly with an arrow. You know I shot a sharp beak bird at first. Then the arrow continued flying and struck the grizzly." I said honestly
Dad made a blank face at first, then a face like he's holding a laugh. He turned around and took his fishing tool. I feel like dad mocked me just now.
"Boy, when did you became the lure and bait?"
"Just now, sheesh. Show some concern, dad. I almost died there. Me, your son. Almost became a snack for that monsters." Even though I said that. I'm confident enough to evade any attacks from that monster. How can I dodge it? A winds spell that uses a bursts of wind, making me move on a short distance with speed.
"I don't see any wounds or scratches on you, you're fine by you look. I know you can handle it, well running away is your best skill." He said while laughing. "At least we got dinner now. Go drain the blood then we'll go home"
.......
"Mom! Look, I hunted a big game with a single arrow!" I bragged a bit. Though I didn't kill it.
"Oh my!" Mom made an exaggerated response. "I see my little Raze can hunt bears now"

"Mom, stop treating me like a kid. Look I(lured it to dad) hunted a grizzly. So can you treat me like an adult now?"
"More like this rascal provoked the bear, lured it to the river where I am and had to save his behind." He said while he took a book for the shelve, and sat down on the couch "If you're not gonna be careful why not stay on the river and do the fishing instead, and i'll do the hunting."
"Like I said, it wasn't on purpose. And I can hunt just fiiiine. Sheesh"
after the small talk. We dismantled the bear and used a bit of the meat for dinner.
....
After dinner. Me and my parent were on the living room. Bright light is shining on the room with the help of a light stone, which is hanging on the ceiling.
Smalltalk here and there, My parents has liquor on their hands and they sometimes mumbles stuff like "I want to see a movie" "I miss video games" and "My only regret in life is that i wasn't able to play First Phantasia part 15" and then sobs with mom.
When I'm about to go to bed. I felt an unknown force coming from nowhere.
"What the.... Daaaaad!?" I shouted for dad.
Moment laters lines of light suddenly formed around me.
"What!?" "Honey, this...." My parents exclaimed when they say the phenomena happening infront of then.
"Whats going on? Dad? Mom?" Panic is starting to get to me.
"Raze, my dear. Don't panic and listen to us."
"You are being summoned right now" both of them said.
Summoned?! I thought and was about to asked question, but I was interrupted.
"I have no idea why you were being summoned but, whatever you do after this: Always be true to yourself, do the right thing you deemed is right."
"Never forget our teaching, and don't trust the noble and royalties fully"
"Don't look for home and wait for the time to come home."
Be true to myself? Do the right? Dont look for home? Only questions is on my mind.
As seconds pass by, the runic lines almost came to completion.
"Look for you sister And she will explain" said my mother, as tears forming on her eyes.
""We love you, Raze. And be careful""
A bright light blinded my sight and came after a pressure. A feeling of falling down came to me but it lasted but a moment.
As the light that blinded me became dimmer. What I saw is a room full of people, knights and mages surrounded us and a banner of shield and swords crossed, vines wrapped around the swords. Looking in front of me, 4 people the same age as me has the same look of confusion.
"What's going!?" "KYAAA!!" "What's happening!?"
What shocked me the most is they spoke the same language as my parents and not the usual common language. For all I know, my family is the only one who knows how to speak that language, English is what they called it I think?
Then someone spoke the common language. "Welcome young heroes. If you can understand me, please look at the right side and look at the mirror"
I was about to look on my side when I noticed one of the girl was staring at me.
Somehow, stared back at her. As I look closely she has dim red hair and has blue eyes and a mole under her left side eye, which looks good on her.
Again, someone spoke the common language "I see that no one looked at the mirror. We will be needing the stones. My daughter, would you be so kind to give it to our guests?" When I looked at the person who just spoke. Whom I saw was the king of Rosedell, though he looks much younger than the portrait that I once saw. I just realized I lost my chance to look for that mirror.
"Yes father, I'd happily deliver it to our heroes." The princess spoke and walked down towards us and made a curtsy. She called one of the knights holding a chest with stones, and took the chest. "Please take each" she gesture and pointed at the stones."
I walked near the knight and took the stone. Once everyone was holding each, the princess spoke one more. "We apologies about the current situation and once again let us greet you. Welcome young Heroes"

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.

THIRTEEN (Evie's Perspective)
This is the 2003 movie, Thirteen, told from the perspective of Evie Zamora. We got Tracy's point of view, but what about Evie? Why did she do the things she did?I've seen a few different interpretations of Evie's perspective and I decided to give it a go. This is how I think Evie thought and the reasons behind why she did the things she did. This is NOT canon, just a fanfiction, and I am not affiliated with Thirteen or Catherine Hardwick in any way.
