《Cultivation Bug Fuyo》Chapter 24 - The Pavillions Cleaner

They walked through the pavilion; it was a very beautiful place. The floors were made of Ivory tiles and covered in spirit formations, the pillars glimmered in the light. Fuyo couldn't see the formations normally, but with his qi vision he could. There were floating orbs of light that kept the temperature consistent and the place lit up. There were many people walking around, a lot of them wore scholar robes but they were very dirty. A lot of them were covered in bone dust but they didn't seem to care. Everywhere they walked some dust would fall off onto the ground but then a light wind would pick them up and whisk away the dust.
"This must be the power of the spirit formation." He thought it was quite neat; a spirit formation can be used for such menial things. It was like walking into an Immortal's palace.
"Hey you there, you kids... Can you lend me a hand?" A rough old man turned and looked to Fuyo and shocked him greatly.
He was wearing dark brown overalls, he was really grubby and looked like a rubbish man. It ruined the whole aura of the Immortal Palace.
But it wasn't his clothing that shocked Fuyo, Fuyo knew looks can be deceiving; it was his face and body that made him shake. He wasn't a bee but a human? A human with bee wings and a long stinger like tail...
"Why are you looking at me like that? Quick, come help me empty the rubbish." He ignored Fuyo's stares and walked around the corner.
"What's going on? Why does he have a human body? Tuzai, tell me it's not just me. I'm not seeing things am I?"
Tuzai shook her head "No, he really has a body like that. It's called the fairy realm. He must be a Spirit Warrior. Spirit Warriors are people that broken through the true qi realm and formed their fairy body. They can change between their true form and their fairy form at will."
Everything she said was blowing his mind, if he cultivated higher he could return to his human form? He started trembling from excitement. "A Spirit Warrior, how amazing!"

"No, it's not that amazing. Anyone can reach the Spirit Warrior stage with enough resources and time, in fact I'm only 3 steps from the Spirit Warrior stage myself. Most of them stay in their bee form because their bee body is stronger and more comfortable."
Fuyo: "..."
"The reason the old man takes care of rubbish is probably due to some grave offense he committed against a noble or he made a wrong turn when opening a meridian and got stuck in the fairy realm forever. That's why he is in such a miserable state. I'm trying to read his cultivation but I'm not able to sense anything. He might be powerless, his dantian was probably destroyed, it's best not to befriend such useless people."
"That may be the case but are we really one to speak? Recently, one thing I've learnt is that it never pays to be too confident in yourself. At the moment we are not in a position to speak about people in such a way. A leaky house, broken walls and sleeping on the floor is our current situation. It's true, with your potential and my eyes we can make it to a high place in life one day but we should never forget where we came from."
Tuzai didn't know what to say, she was flabbergasted. With 8 opened meridians and the prospects of becoming an apprentice alchemist she had let herself get overconfident. Although her talent wasn't the best it was still many times better than others. So she started to act in the way a noble would.
"I'm sorry, I didn't notice." She shook her head, slightly ashamed of what she just said.
"It's fine, so what do you think we should do? Shall we lend the cleaner a hand?"
She nodded her head and they walked forward, following the path the cleaner went.
The hall was quite long and it winded, there were a few doors that lead to different places. The place was too large; they couldn't find the cleaner anywhere so they decided to give up after 15 minutes of searching. They were walking back when they heard that same familiar voice.

"Hey kids, are you going to lend me a hand or not?"
Fuyo turned around and saw an open door with the cleaner's head cleanly popping out from the side.
He still couldn't believe there was a way to change back into human form. But the old man took away the beauty of the human form. He was just like an old dirty bum, there was dirt on his face and his clothes were covered in some sort of red liquid. Tuzai didn't recognize what this liquid was because bees have honey colored blood and spirit bees have white colored blood. But Fuyo knew what it was, it was dark red blood.
Fuyo pushed his hand against Tuzai and stopped her from walking forward; she saw that a look of worry had appeared in his eyes.
"What's wrong youngster? You were looking for me right?"
"Is this guy a serial killer? Does he lure gullible kids out here and do any number of evils to them?" Fuyo couldn't help but ask himself this question. The scene of the old man standing in a white corridor covered in blood was like something out of a horror movie. Fuyo was no stranger to murder but he had never killed someone for pleasure before.
"Is there something wrong?" Tuzai whispered into Fuyos ear.
He nodded his head. "Why are you covered in blood? Did you lure us out here to kill us?"
After Tuzai heard this she started to shiver in fear, if he was a Spirit Warrior that had been crippled then they could escape. But if he had been killing people for fun like Fuyo suggested then he wasn't a crippled Spirit Warrior and they had fallen into his trap.
The old man looked down at his shirt and then looked back at Fuyo and started laughing.
"It's from the dead beast that we slaughter to use for bone relics. Bees have honey colored blood, and spirit bees have white colored blood. Where did you get that strange idea from?" He laughed some more at the conclusion he drew. This kid sure is interesting, he thought to himself.
"Ah, is that so?" He looked to Tuzai for confirmation and she nodded her head.
"In that case, I apologize to senior for the misunderstanding."
"Senior? Haha, interesting kid. You call me, a lowly cleaner with such a lofty title as senior?"
"Yes, your occupation doesn't dictate your value or age. You are many years our senior so it's only right to address you as such." He bowed his head in greeting.
"Well, I'm not one for titles just call me by name, Kala."
"Well then Kala, I'll be in your care, what did you need help with?"
"My grand daughter is dying from an incurable disease. I don't know how much longer she can hold on. She was raised in this village and due to our poor circumstances, she hasn't had the chance to see the world. I want to make the most of her final moments and take her around Bee Country. If you could find it in your heart to help me then I would be incredibly grateful."
Fuyo: "..."
Tuzai: "..."
"All you need to do is to get rid of all this beast meat. There is over 10 tons of meat. Just grab as much meat as you can carry and drop it off in the forest. It should decompose eventually. Here is a magic carpet card, you can use it to use the meat carrier magic carpet. If you work fast then you can have it all done by the end of the day. Here are the keys to the room, they throw all the beast meat in here to be collected. I have to go now, good luck."
Then he ran off and disappeared without letting Fuyo or Tuzai get a single word in. He was so fast Fuyo and Tuzai didn"t even see him leave.
"What's with this sudden development?"
