《I can summon my past lives》18- The Blood Religion

Damon caught the Dark Phoenix's attack with his index finger. He arched his finger while still in contact with the attacking claw and flicked his finger.
The result : The force behind the flick was so potent that the Dark Phoenix inexplicably found itself on the other side of the prison, just a hair away from smacking on the wall.
Damon made a fist with his hand that had just defended. He felt the power coursing through his veins and there was a voice that said that he needed more, he needed to eat more.
He looked behind him and there was still the Phoenix's carcass.
As if he couldn't contain himself he touched it and then it disappeared like magic. It was now being refined in his endless stomach.
Soon there was a second star being born on his black body. It was the same for the Blood Emperor, each star represented your 'meals', if they were significant enough...and each star represented your power.
However the number of stars shown on the physical body versus the number of stars seen on the soul didn"t mean the same thing. The former were real stars while the latter were a kind of remembrance, a token mirroring the body.
The two stars on Damon's body represented the Bloodline and the body of the Dark Phoenix which had near endless energy. Damon wondered how exactly he could satiate this new bloodline of his after it had tasted such potent energy.
The drop of Star Blood that Damon had used was the drop that the Blood Emperor had left behind in his clone in the scarlet Multiverse. When he had first decided to venture into the unknown planes, he knew that he could perish anytime. Leaving a clone behind to continue his legacy was the first thing he did before he left. Alas, when he was killed by one of the Dao Beings who had comprehended the Dao of Karma, the death of the true body was followed by the clone's no matter the distance between them.

His clone was then reincarnated and it happened to be Damon's past reincarnation.
The Dark Phoenix did a quick calculation and then decided to stake it all on fleeing the damn prison. Perhaps it would have time to alert one or many of its other twelve counterparts for help before it was captured again. It reckoned that some of its clones could have already made progress in their Dao comprehension after all the time that had elapsed.
As for it acquiring a new body, it would have to birth it later when it was in the clear.
It said, "Hah, you may think that you have won, but you are deluding yourself. Only I know how to leave here. I studied this place for eons and know its ins and out, under the nose of the Reincarnation Lords and Kings. Let me see you get caught after I leave. Buy me some time will ya? You owe me that at least, after all I have done for you."
Then the Dark Phoenix, a giant 6000 meters soul, vanished from Damon Kaze's wide eyes.
"F*ck!" it was all Damon managed to say after realizing the truth.
It was true. With him being there, the jailors would spend their time interrogating him rather than immediately pursue the damn bird.
And so, he sat cross-legged on the ground and then waited to see what his fate would be. At least he had managed to narrowly escape death for now.

Blood Effervescence Plane.
It was the plane where the Blood Religion thrived. It was now under the leadership of a 1st rank Dao Being who had comprehended the Complete Dao Of life and he was the strongest in the entire plane.
To become part of the blood religion, you had to have at least acquired the Blood Domain or be lucky enough to be blooded by someone who has the Blood Domain.

The old man sitting in what looked like a blood pool was the only Dao Being in the plane himself.
His name was Vlad Tempest, also titled the Sanguinary.
He had had his eyes closed for the entire morning, enjoying the bath, but now, he opened them slowly as if he wasn't sure of what he was feeling.
"Master?" He said as he stood up. He could feel deep within his bloodline that call for submission that he once felt every time his master was around.
Back then he had just become a False God pursuing the Dao of light when he met his master, Jil, the Blood Emperor. It was a chance encounter but it had changed his life for the better. Soon, he was blooded and instantly gained the Blood Domain, which he found easier to Comprehend. He was so compatible with it that the Jil, The Blood Emperor himself repeatedly praised him.
Of course, he wasn't blooded with the Star Blood. No. It was the previous bloodline that the Blood Emperor had kept a little of before greed pushed him to embrace the Star Blood.
Vlad was now feeling the suppression across planes. Again. He angrily thought, "It seems, someone got their hands on Master's Star Blood. I won't let an impostor destroy the work that I have been doing ever since the Master died. I kept his dream of seeing a free world of Blood Benders alive, despite our long years of being treated as heretics because of Master's actions. I alone know that he wasn't crazy. He just couldn't control his hunger. And now another one has appeared. Our good name and deeds will go down the drain if he cannot control his hunger and starts devouring entire planes."
"He must die and every Ounce of Star Blood must be destroyed for the good of all." as he made his decision, he thought of something else, "Perhaps I should send word to those esteemed beings. They would be looking forward to a change of scenery in their uneventful lives with a worthy opponent and still do a good deed while they're at it."

Sometimes, even the most outright affront to liberty seems to be justified under certain contexts. Or maybe I should stop reading about Stalin, I think it's affecting me.
