《Promise》Chapter 5: Through the looking glass

Liam let go of the choke hold on the man's neck. His body just fell down lifelessly and Liam could now breathe normally. He looked at Allan and Maria but this time not with the happy cheerful brown eyes they usually saw, but eyes filled with anger,
“ You fucking useless bastards, why did you just sit there !?” Liam screamed at them.
All he got as a reply from them was this A or Hum sound coming out of their mouths. Liam stood up and gave his order:
“ Fine then, we will talk about this later. Right now is not the time to sit around, get up and get moving now !”
Allan and Maria followed his order and stood up, then they raised the question of where they were heading, to which Liam answered: “ Back, our friends might need some help.”
Running back to where they were just running for their life away from, they saw the sight of a beautiful young woman running toward their direction, her silver hair and ruby red eyes giving her identity away, it was Luna, she was still alive. Seeing her, tears ran down Allan and Maria's faces, it was like a huge sense of guilt was lifted off them. After a brief check on her condition, they all followed Liam to the place Kyle was last seen. There they found what was left of a battlefield, corpses laying all over the place and the smell of fresh blood filling the air. In the middle of it was Kyle, lying motionlessly with his back against a tree. They rushed toward him. There they saw his body motionless, an arrow still sticking out on his right shoulder area, a deep cut on his left palms, blood was covering all over him, Allan,Maria and Luna thought for sure that he was dead. But then to their surprise his mouth opened and he said: “Took you long enough Liam, are the others still alive” before losing his consciousness.

“ You can’t kill him that easily” Liam smirked “ let's get him out of here !”.
Liam and Allan carried Kyle while they tried to find a good hiding spot to rest and help Kyle wound, finally after about 30 minutes from the battlefield, Luna spotted a cave-like entrance on the hill nearby and they settled there, Maria used her medical skill in order to help Kyle. while the rest stay on their toes and check for any danger in coming.
Morning came and everything quieted down. No one followed them there and they all fell asleep through exhaustion. But a cold and angry voice woke everyone up, it was Kyle and he looked furious at the three Allan, Maria and Luna.
“ You fucking stupid bastards !” That was the first thing Kyle said to them. Allan and Maria both respond instinctively:
“Hey it is not our fault, how can we fight against them, and besides did we not save your life as well.”
“Not not your fault ?You guys have made nothing but mistakes since the minute we got here.” Liam yelled from behind the three.
“ How can it be only our fault when you guys did completely nothing ? Answer me that.” Allan replied straight away.
“ I let you make all the decisions from the start to see if scumbags like you are worth the effort, Allan”, Kyle answered.
“ What did we ever do to you for you to say such a word to us ?” Luna replied
“ Then what did I ever do to you to let you whisper to each other words like pervert, crazy or psychopath ?” Kyle continues “ you did not expect me to hear them do you.”
They were all silent, “ Now let's start from the beginning, from my point of view this time.” Kyle responded in his cold and deep voice.

Kyle started to show the three what they had actually been doing, unlike what they thought they were doing. From the first minute, Kyle had already notice that Allan was a hypocrite, there were five of them, 3 male and two female and when he woke up the first his eyes looked right at the two young woman and decided to talked to them first rather than went to the other two guys who theoretically would have been the natural instinct in situation like this. He talked nicely with them but his eyes were also scanning the girls from head to toe , unknown to the girls. The girls had no problem talking to the handsome unknown tall blonde man but the moment their eyes met Kyle, they showed a distringwist feeling of disgust. They might smile and say hello but actions spoke more than words, they couldn’t hide their true feelings through their eyes and Allan’s first conversation with Kyle and Liam was just straight up rude. Kyle pointed out the fact that while Allan was ‘polite’ to the two pretty girls, to the two of them, he acted with no manners at all, yelling at them, assuming that they did not know any English in the rudest way possible, why?.
Then there was the not so subtle ‘plan’ to split up, an obvious excuse to get away from them, first Kyle and Liam were not insulted by the act. However, considering the fact that they did not know any of them and suddenly they wanted to disappear from their vision, they decided to follow them just for a while just in case the three was planning something to harm them. And the result was disappointing to say the least. Rather than discovering some grand scheme, some kind of unity or an actual plan, Kyle and Liam only heard them chattering about how the two looked like, how they disliked them because of the way they looked and how they made them feel. The nail on the coffin was when Allan ‘heroically’ stepped up for them saying things like don’t judge a book by its cover, only to follow by saying yeah they look like bad guys let’s do something about it.

Dana and The Legend of Apollo and Daphne
She is the reincarnation of a Greek god's former lover. Did anyone bother to tell her? No... at least not until the god shows up at her door.I couldn't explain his features any way besides perfect. He was probably the most handsome man I had ever met. Something about him was familiar, as though I had known him for years. One hand still grasping mine, he moved his other into my hair, stroking softly. His warmth surrounding, his touch calmed me.I couldn't move. I could barely breathe. My mind was blank. It was like nothing I ever felt before. I was lost in his eyes, in his warmth, in the feeling that I was safe. At that moment I wished to stay forever. I also knew better than to remain here. However, my muscles went numb under the warmth of his hands. I couldn't move.I layed there him stroking my hair in shock for what in my head felt like forever. Eventually, he leaned down and spoke into my ear making my whole body shiver."My dear, I have waited for this moment for years," his voice was beautiful, strong and warm. Like the wind on a summer day. He had humor in his eyes and I found it extremely unsettling. There was something off about his tone. Almost like I was dreaming, but I knew it wasn't one. Something powerful and dangerous was in his voice... Ohhh no! This wasn't some random mortal standing over me. This.... this... this was a god...Credit to Rick Riordan for building such a wonderful world to put stories into and creating some of these amazing characters.
